  1. It went GREAT! I really liked Dr. Borlands personality- very down to earth & whitty! He def. made me feel at ease after talking to him! He said as long as I dont eat fried chicken right after surgery, I dont need to worry about leaks LOL! SO, Monday morning @ 10am I am getting my sleeve! We will check into the Candlewood Suites on Sunday night! A little nervous, but nothing over the top :-) One question- I will be driving there from New Orleans (less a trip than you had) How did the whole Magnesium Citrate thing go? Did you drink it before you left, or once you were there?
  2. Tomorrow is consultations & Monday is SLEEVE!!!!!!!!!
  3. THANK YOU! I think i need to leave the complications forum ALONE! I will also feel better after I meet him!
  4. OH MY GOODNESS! I should have NEVER looked at the Complications forums :-( I really feel like I am about to back out, & that thoughtis making me VERY sad! Any words of advice to lift me up??? (i am particularly worried about leaks, since that is what I have been reading) HELP!!!
  5. WooHoo.... Getting sleeved on November 14th & I can not wait! It looks like I have had a pretty simple journey so far. I have been researching the different WLS options for months now, maybe even years-- tried diet & excercise, succeeded, then gained every ounce + some right back! So I decided on October 27, 2011 to pursue my WLS surgery & knew the sleeve was IT! I made my decision to go with the surgery after a trip to our local zoo with my husband and 2 sons. (husband is fit (&super cute lol) sons are 3 years old and 17 months old) My oldest was running up "Monkey Hill" and begged for Mommy to follow, I was too embarrassed to give my son something SO simple :-( My heart was broken! So Monday morning (halloween) I called Dr. Borland (whom I have done extensive research on) & scheduled my "consult" for the soonest available appt. That will be next Wednesday, Nov. 9th! They faxed the papers over to my PCP to get my lab work, xrays, & EKG tests done (did ALL that today) My PCP then faxed all my results to Dr. Borlands office! I called and asked if it was at all possible to schedule my surgery now that he has seen my labs and stuff, & they did! So IM SCHEDULED! :-) PS- I will be a self-pay patient (my insurance doesnt cover :-( ) ANYWHO--- Glad to join the BANANA BABES & can NOT wait to be on the LOSERS BENCH :-)
  6. I would love to hear some questions I should ask at my pre-op appt next Wednesday, what I should pack for surgery, all that good stuff :-) I am so excited!
  7. SURGERY DATE IS NOVEMBER 14th!!!!! Oh my gosh I am so nervous now haha!
  8. Does he want you to do protein shakes? I have been reading mixed reviews regarding those! Just curious
  9. I talked to the receptionist & she said if I have all of my pre-op blood work (which I am getting this week) & the 9800.00 (which I am getting tomorrow) They will schedule me for the following week! AHHHHHHH :-) Do you have any "recommended" questions I should ask? I am trying to get together a list :-)
  10. Just got the call-- LOAN IS APPROVED! Ahhhhhhhh.. the excitement is crippling!
  11. OH, I have TONS of questions LOL! Thank you for the recommendation for hotels! I will DEF. look into that one! Not sure what you do for a living, but I am a photographer (own my own company, but do all the picture taking) How soon do you think before I can get start back working?
  12. Awesome BJ! Good luck & blessings to you :-)
  13. Oh i am over the moon excited! I have consultation on Nov. 9th @ 4pm! If I have my bloodwork (which I am scheduling now) & of course the 9800.00 then they will schedule me the following week! The excitement is unbearable! Now lets just pray my loan gets approved for the remainder of what I am missing! :-)
  14. Oh the anxiety begins! I can not wait! I already feel as though my life is changing and I haven't even went through the consultation yet! Maybe because I have long dreamed of this day to come- but was always out of the question because STUPID insurance companies! BUT with the love & support from my wonderful husband and family, this is possible! I can't wait to be on the other side & can't wait to show off my "new sleeve"! PS- pre-op blood work is being scheduled now---- MAJOR pitter patter in my heart HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
  15. Hi there, I am just wondering how long did it take to get your appointment with Dr. Borland?
