  1. STUCK at 227! I have been 227 for what seems like forever! I hate that I get on the scale EVERY SINGLE day-- sometimes more than once! Im hoping that buyers remorse doesn't start to set in :-(
  2. Welcome UXGrrl! I hope you have a very safe & speedy recovery!
  3. Tomorrow marks 2 weeks since surgery. Since 6 days post op I have been caring for my 3 year old & 18 month old pretty much on my own as my husband has returned to work. I bathe, rock, cuddle, feed, change, etc all on my own & no problems thus far (knock on wood) I told my surgeon before surgery that I would have this responsibility and he assured me that I would be fine. The main thing they worry about is an umbilical hernia (which unfortunately I already have and have had for almost 2 years) Now, I do however limit the amount of lifting I do & I also use my arms as much as possible, instead of my back & belly area!
  4. Geno, mine started right on track! I was expecting it to be a little whack, as it had done with previous surgeries, but not this time!
  5. For me to head to the gym for my 2 week post-op. I am now 8 days out. However, couldn't I just go and walk on the treadmill at a very light (brisk) pace? Avoid any type of lifting, etc????? Thoughts?
  6. Anyone on their "thickened liquid" stage?
  7. I think my poor little body was literally "dying to be healthy" lol So it didn't take long to start dropping the pounds! Good luck to everyone else, & I certainly hope everyone is feeling as good as I am :-)
  8. I didn't have a pre-op diet! Just the day before! But all of my measurements & weigh in were done the morning of surgery :-)

  10. Just a quick update: I am almost 7 days out (a few more hours) lol I feel AMAZING! I feel like I didnt just go through a major surgery. People who didnt know I was having this done, have NO CLUE! Infact, I almost forget until I see my little tape on my belly LOL! Lost a total of 3 inches in my waist & 2 in my bust! I will do my complete measurements tomorrow morning for my 1 week surgiversary! Also down 18.9lbs as of tonight peak at the scale! I LOVE MY SLEEVE!
  11. I think what is killing me the most is having to cook for my 2 kids. For Breakfast they had eggs & breakfast sausage- i was DYING to steal a bite. I took a teeny tiny nibble off the end, got the taste then spit the teeny tiny piece out LOL- but it cured my craving! So far for lunch, they are having chicken nuggets & chopped fruit- i want so badly to endulge in a piece of pineapple & watermelon. GRRR! Any one of you ladies to the "thickened liquid" stage? THATS TOMORROW :-)
  12. HELP! Last day of clear liquids.... & I am literally drooling every time I open the fridge! I tried to eat some broth, and for the first time I got nauseous! Pretty positive it wasnt "surgery related nausea" (I have had NO NAUSEA) but just the fact that I am SICK of clear liquids! Got about 2 bites of sugar free Jello & I was just sick :-/ PLEASE give me some words of advice to help me make it through the day :-)
  13. no regrets at ALL! I am only 5 days out and am doing FABULOUS! and to TOP it off..... I lost 15 lbs since MONDAY! yes----- 5 days, 15 lbs!

Today was my birthday, so no cake, no bday dinner, nothing :-( On a good note- down 15 pounds since monday is GREAT :-) & def. making all of this CLEAR liquid crap worth it
  15. weight loss since Monday, Nov. 14th----
  16. My weight lost since Monday- November 14th :-) HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
  17. Dr. Keeps reassuring me that everything is normal, but for peace of mind I want to see if anyone else experienced it! He said it is more than likely from retracting the liver, that a few days it will be gone!! I sure hope so!!
  18. Hi there! I made it through surgery quick question while I'm awake lol.... Did you have pains in the left side of your chest? The only thing that is hurting is this pressure feeling in the chest... Nothing else!
  19. 1 day post-op here! No incision pain, belly pain... Only pressure in my chest painful pressure in my chest dr. Just doubled my pain meds and let me take crushed up prilosec! Praying that helps! Anyone else hear of chest discomfort (mostly on left side)????
  20. Welcome Joyce! I am getting sleeved the day before you, & I am so happy to hear someone else feels the same way I do! I am also a self pay, so the journey thus far has been pretty good! Now I feel almost certain that something is going to happen and BAM, no surgery! UGH! Good Luck! I have about 30 hours to go :-)
  21. Excited isn't the word! I have actually started packing my bags today in hopes to remember everything. I have a very busy, work filled weekend, so I dont want to be rushed :-/ I crammed about 2 weeks worth of photoshoots into a 3 day 'weekend'! YIKES! Anywho- any advice or tips on what to pack??! I have to go to the grocery store tomorrow to make sure I get all my Clear liquids & broth for Sunday & of couse the week after!
  22. So, for the past 2 weeks I have been writing down my 'wish list'! Basically a list of the things I can't do now (comfortably) that I am dying to do :-) Just want to share with my fellow banana Babes! WARNING- this is UNEDITED lol Be confident (of course) go to a resturaunt & not have an anxiety attack sit down without pulling at my shirt every 10 seconds (im a photographer) go through a session without regretting getting down to get a shot walk into a room & not have to promise my husband that everyone is talking about me fit comfortably in my jazuzzi tub wear clothes appropriate for a 25 year old (not something out my grandma's closet) run after my 2 babies without feeling like I will die climb stairs easily go to the gym and be confident enough to actually work out wear lacy undies again (for my husband of course spice up the love life & practice for baby #3 go to the zoo with my boys & not feel like I resemble the elephants & last, but I think MOST IMPORTANT...... I want to be IN FRONT of the camera for a change. After our recent trip to the zoo (the trip that made me decide to have this surgery) my husband took my camera and snapped a few candid shots of me and my babies. After I got into the car to admire all of the pictures I had taken of my babies, I became mortified to find the pictures of myself. I quickly hit the delete button to assure that NO ONE would ever see me in that god awful sundress :-( Later that night I decided to edit a few shots of my babies & put the in their online albums for family to see. Well, much to my surprise I looked through all the pictures & realized that I have NEVER posted a picture of my & my babies. There were HUNDREDS of them with their Daddy, but NONE with Mommy :-( THIS breaks my heart & this is what made me decide to have my surgerY!!!! 4 DAYS!
  23. Consultation yesterday went GREAT! I am so excited to begin this new journey but wish it would just get here! I have been dreaming (literally EVERY NIGHT) that I am in the recovery phase, then have to wake up & go through it ALL OVER again lol! 4 MORE DAYS!
