  1. I'm right there with you. I had surgery on Halloween and the mental part has been the hardest for me. I still want all the junk too! I've lost 80 pounds and still have 50 more to lose to get to where I want to be. I think I started feeling bad about how I looked when I started to see all the loose skin and all of those bad feelings came back and I wanted to turn to food like I always have. I'm tring hard to get past it, but it's an addiction that is hard to overcome because we have to eat to live. Good luck to you Amber!
  2. WOW! I just realized I am in desperate need of a new picture! YIKES!
  3. I have been in a 6 week stall and started to think that I wasn't going to lose anymore! Last week a lot of people started commenting on my weight loss and how I was getting skinnier and skinnier and I kept thinking, "I WISH!". Then yesterday..........BOOM! The scale dropped 7 pounds! What a relief! I hope I can keep it going again for a while. Onederland here I come!
  4. I am from Port Lavaca, but I now live in Round Rock.
  5. I had the same thing happen recently. I weighed myself and thought I had lost 10 pounds in a week but I kept getting different numbers. I ended up replacing the batteries and had my bubble busted when I realized I had only lost 5 and the numbers were consistent.
  6. You probably have some post-op swelling. Try not to let it get to you. Everyones body reacts differently to surgery and medications.
  7. Can't you just close the app and re-start it instead of re-installing? You shouldn't have to do all of that. I hope they find a way to fix the problem. :-/
  8. Thanks everyone. I'm very excited! I had a very long 6 week stall and was getting so discouraged! When I finally started losing again, it just went so fast!
  9. I had to go shopping this past weekend for new jeans because mine were getting saggy in the crotch..lol When I started my journey I was a tight size 26 jean and now I fit into a size 20 comfortably...holey moley!!!!!!! I have lost 60 pounds and counting. Stil have a long road, but there is light at the end of the tunnel!
  10. Congratulatons! I can't wait to be there with ya!
  11. First of all, congratulations! I had the same thing happen to me. My husband and I decided we weren't going to have anymore kids, so I decided to schedule my first appointment to get the process of WLS started. At the same time my husband scheduled his vasectomy. About 4 days before his scheduled vasectomy I found out I was pregnant. At first I was being very selfish and cried because not only had we not planned to have another child, I was ready to get healthy and change my life. You are so right, God sometimes has other plans for us. I wouldn't change having my daughter in a million years. She has been an awesome addition to our family. I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy!
  12. I am just curious if anyone else had their surgery through the belly button? My doctor told me that he used a new tool called the Spider to do my surgery (see the link below). I am about 2 months out now and my scar is barely visible. http://www.transenterix.com/spider-surgical-system.php
  13. My doctor told me I could take them off myself after a week, but I had my surgery through the belly button so I don't know if it is different for you.
  14. I was in a terrible stall for nearly 4 weeks. It was so hard to see almost the exact same weight every day, so I stopped weighing myself every day cuz it was driving me crazy. Today I weighed and lost 3 pounds! YAY!
  15. I just realized I can now take off my wedding ring without using Windex! Lol I had to use Windex to get It off before my surgery on Halloween.
  16. I am very inspired by your journey! Thanks for sharing and congratulations to you!
  17. I also have UHC Choice plus. I did a 3 month program during which I lost about 10 pounds. I also had to do a psych evaluation and a nutrition and exercise class. Once the doctors office submitted the paperwork, I was approved in less than a week. From my first appointment to surgery was about 6 months. Good luck!
  18. I am so sorry that you have had such a bad experience. I truly feel like everything happens when it's supposed to happen. It just wasn't meant to be just yet....but it will happen for you! *HUGS* I know you are frustrated. I would be too. Hang in there!
  19. The first week I was so frustrated because I was in the hospital 2 nights and came home to weigh myself and I had GAINED 10 pounds! I realized later that much of it was swelling from the surgery. I didn't start losing any weight until about 9 days post-op. I'm sure it's different for everyone. Don't worry! It's still very early. You'll see the scale move, almost before your very eyes! lol
  20. I was 290 at pre-op diet and 282 day of surgery. Today I am 263 so that is 19 pounds lost since surgery. My surgery was October 31st. I struggled at first with Water, but I can drink that now. I am still having issues with my Multivitamin. It's usually a 50/50 chance if it is gonna stay down. :-(
  21. I am also an ultrasound tech. gallbladder problems are very common in people who are overweight; mostly women unfortunately. If they see the gallbladder has stones, they will go ahead and remove it during your surgery.
  22. I have the same problem, only I vomit every time I take my vitamins. I tried them on an empty stomach, with and without water, and different times of day. If I take them at night after dinner, half the time they stay down. I don't know what else to do. I hope you can figure something out that works for you. Good luck!
