  1. I went two days ago for a fill that was way more painful than most. I usually have a bruise for a few days, yesterday I woke up with a half-dollar sized red circle that was puffy and hot to the touch where the needle went in. I saw it gradually grow throughout the day. I called my lapband doctor to see what he thought might be wrong and he just said he would call in a prescription for an infection. He never asked me to come in and look at it or anything. I assume this happens often since he didn't have me come in, just knew what the problem was. My problem is it's still getting bigger. Does the medicine take time? I hate to keep calling him if its normal. Anyone else have this experience?
  2. I am going for my 3rd fill next week. I feel no restriction and I can eat any food, including bread (and lots of it!) I can't wait to get to the green zone!!!
  3. I haven't been on here in a while either, but I logged on tonight to ask this very same question!!! I too was banded in November, and have 5.8cc's in a 10cc band. I feel NOTHING and can eat regularly. My parents paid for my surgery and I feel so guilty that I have only lost 25 lbs including pre-op diet. I know they say it's not a magic wand, but I really thought there was more to it than this. I should practice self control, but if I had any of that I wouldn't have wasted 10,000 dollars of my parents money!! I too am bad about self- sabotage. When I eat something bad, I feel like I need to eat everything bad that I see to get it out of my system. I'm glad there are others that feel like I do, I don't know anyone in my day to day life that can relate!
  4. I have been craving pizza for a while, so I came up with the PERFECT low-cal, small portioned pizza! I bought "Flat-Out" whole wheat sandwich wraps, also available in kid-size (which I use). The kid-size wraps have 60 calories each. Then I use a spicy pepperoni tomato sauce from HEB. I sprinkle a little mozzerella cheese on top and broil for about 2 minutes. The pizza has about 150 calories. You can add toppings, but I prefer just using the spicy pepperoni sauce because it has just enough flavor without adding more calories. Try it, you will love it! I put a can of sauce in a tupperware and have the wraps and mozzerella cheese on hand so when I get that pizza craving I can have one in less than 5 minutes!
  5. I was seriously about to ask the exact same question when I saw your post! I was banded on Nov. 8th and lost 12lbs in the first 2 weeks. I got full on just a few bites of food. Now, while I don't eat as much as I used to, I am eating more and still don't ever feel full, I just stop so I don't over eat. I haven't lost any weight this week and I was hoping I hadn't done something wrong. Glad to hear it's normal!
  6. I was banded Nov. 8th and I can see where you are coming from. I read everyone's posts about their diets on here and my dr. gave me a slightly different one. I was progressed to food a lot quicker than most people that I have talked to on here. After one week I was on soft food and after 2 weeks I was allowed to move on to a bigger variety of food. I am following my doctors orders, but why are they different than the rest? I feel like I can eat more than I'm supposed to but I just fill up a half cup and when it's gone, I stop. Even though I'm still hungry. I think since my swelling has gone down I just need my first fill!
  7. I was not required to do a liquid diet before hand, what I was told to do was more low carb/ low fat. I was already on the Atkins diet so there was really no change for me. I was actually surprised to see everyone talking about the pre-op liquid diet on here because I never heard about it ! My surgery went fine so I guess each doctor has their own way of shrinking the liver! I think the low carb thing is MUCH easier than liquid!
  8. My surgery was on 11/8/11 and I have felt the same way. The only time I didn't feel like vomiting was when I was laying down. I have never had heartburn before, but I am assuming thats whats been going on with me. It's absolutly miserable and has caused me not to drink as much as I should. Today is my first day out and I feel a little better. Hopefully yours will subside in the next day or two as well. I still have the bad heartburn, but I am able to drink more and not feel like I'm going to vomit. Still have the shoulder pain from the gas, not sure how long that takes to go away!
  9. I didn't say perfect, I said ideal. I meant ideal to you as an individual. Not necessarily what society sees as ideal. I have a realistic weight loss goal but I'm afraid that once I get there I will have saggy loose skin .
  10. I am pre-band, I will be getting it in the next 2 weeks, however, I am putting EVERYTHING that I have into the surgery. Right now I am 5'7 and 320 lbs, I would like to lose 150 pounds, and I plan to work out with weights and cardio while being on the band. I was wondering if anyone doing the same had a big problem with loose skin. I can't afford plastic surgery after I lose the weight, and I was wondering if weightlifting or anything else helped with the excess skin after weight loss. Should I start saving now for post weight lose surgery?
