  7. Hi everyone, I'm compiling a list with everyone's names and dates on it so we can see when we are all having our surgery and support each other. I'll post it in the "Hey July sleevers!" thread and here. If anyone is not happy to be on the list please let me know. Similarly if you are not on it I'm sure I can update it and add you. Onwards and downwards!

    BIG thumbs up!
  9. This is a great idea- especially the secret part! Thanks Patrick.
  10. Hi EileenFrances and everyone else. Well my surgery is now 21 days away, I'm getting nervous and excited at the same time! I have been (and still am) in report writing hell which I'm sure you all can sympathise with, and then the end of term winding-up procedure will be very stressful as we are all shifting classrooms which means "packing for the movers" . I am not so happy that I won't have much time to relax before surgery as our last day is 29th June and surgery is July 2nd!
  11. Hi everyone, I thought I might make a list with everyone's dates next to their names to post here so we can keep track of who is doing what, and when, as we try to support each other. If you have a surgery date and you're happy to be included in the list- please PM me and I'll sort one out and post it here in a little while. I'm sure i can keep updating it too
  12. Congratulations! Welcome to the July sleevers bench! If you want to join up with a bunch of us we have a "Hey July sleevers!" thread here http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/35451-hey-july-sleevers/page__pid__368714__st__60#entry368714
  13. My surgeon told me that after 21 days your stomach is "out of the woods" and the possibility of a leak are extremely small
  14. Thanks everyone-I can't get Gatorade here and am trying to low-carb at the moment so I'm giving potassium supplements a go. CHEERS!
  15. Thanks littlebits. What a brilliant thing to do for bariatric patients. I wish we had something like that in my city. I hope heaps of wls peeps descend on the place and make it a roaring success, and in so doing encourage more chefs to do this.
  16. I am wondering if anyone here is experiencing night-cramps or maybe even cramp during the day after being sleeved? I have had problems with terrible calf-muscle cramps waking me in the middle of the night for quite a few years. They are utterly agonising and once I discovered that I had actually pulled my calf muscle quite badly and was hobbling about for some time. I have tried all sorts of things, drinking more Water and upping minerals like magnesium- I'm not entirely sure what works as I usually try several things at once out of desperation- and sometimes they fade away after a few days. I have read about a few people getting these for the first time after being sleeved because of deficiencies they may not be aware of, and I'm quite scared that after I'm sleeved that this will get worse with me. Anyone been in this position and have any remedies?
  17. Brilliant news. Well done you :-)
  18. Oh, your poor thing. You don't sound well at all. I think the posters above all are totally right. Your surgeon must sort out what is wrong asap, call them up and refuse to put down the phone until they make an emergency appointment. I do hope you get well soon- keep us posted. xox
  19. Sounds yum Patrick- well done for being experimental. I may just try mixing a sf pudding mix with protein too...just WISH I could get unjury here :-(
  20. Not exactly the 3rd- but in the ballbark July 2nd here.
  21. Oops no- just the date! We are sleeve sisters across time-zones. i am being sleeved in Abu Dhabi :-) I think thats quite FAAAR away from you!
  22. 47- OLD?? Look at people like Meryl Streep - or Madonna, she's 56 and rocking it - no way would anyone DARE say she is too old! If it makes you feel better about yourself- more beautiful, more confident, more sexy, just go ahead and flipping well DO IT. You only have one life, your choices that lead you towards happiness are yours to make. Who cares if others think you are too x, y or z - don't give THEM that power - take it back, it is how YOU feel that matters.
  23. I've been trying to stay on top of a low- carb diet (my choice, my surgeon has not requested anything other than upping my protein)for the last couple of weeks and keep falling off the wagon :-( anyone else struggling? I've got the "one more time" disease .....
