  1. Wow, I thought I was the only one that vomited into a bag while driving down the freeway! Ziplocs are my friends ( = I don't use them often, but when I need to I'm very thankful they are there.
  2. I was soo in your shoes a few months ago, very frustrated. I was banded May 2011 with a 10cc band. I had almost no restriction at 3cc, some restriction at 5cc, then aftar my last fill, which put me at 6cc I have MAJOR restriction. I'm eating very small meals. At Breakfast I can't have anything solid so it's usually a Protein shake, lunch is Soup, then a small dinner, Lucky if I go a day without some vomiting. I'm finally loosing some weight, although it's still slow going. I know I need to have a slight unfill but I'm waiting till after the first of the year. Good luck to you. Remember we are all learning as we go.
  3. Before I had my last fill, i could eat part of a 6 inch IF I took the top piece of bread off. But since my last appt I cannot tolerate ANY bread. I DO like their Soups though ( = Having any sandwich made into a salad is a great option too!
  4. My port site was extremely sore for 1 to 2 months. The more active I was the worse it got. It also aggravated it if I wore pants with a snug waistband. Still does ) =
  5. That sounds like exactly where my port is located. You probably strained the muscle that the port is sewn into. I still do that at times, but the first month was extremely painful if I over did it. It probably would not hurt to contact your Dr though just to be sure. Good luck!
  6. Sounds good! I had a hard time finding my Proteins that first week or so. Thanks
  7. I also have Anthem BC. I got approved very quickly, no problems. I had to do the psych exam, nutritionist, and a medical eval done by my regular doctor.
  8. Mine still hurts at times and I'm 6 months out. It took about 4 weeks before it stopped being a constant pain. I just hope that means my surgeon secured it really well!
  9. I miss being able to preview a thread without having to open it. Now it only shows the origination date ) =
  10. Make sure you speak with your Anesthesiologist before surgery. I have woken up after surgery with horrible bruising and soreness under my chin, and on my jaw from the Dr trying to intubate me, but the last few surgeries I've had I spoke with the Anesthesiologist before surgery and have not had any problem at all. I think it's also important to wait for surgery if you are having a flair up with the TMJ, it may be worth it. Good Luck!
  11. I've noticed that mine is a lot less prominent. Dr says that the scar tissue will grow all around it adhering it to the stomach muscles. I figured that's why mine is barely noticeable 5 months post surgery. The post was the most painful part of my recovery, so I'm thankful that the pain has nearly completely went away.
  12. Slow going. Down 23 pounds. I feel like things didn't really start happening until my last fill 3 weeks ago. I'm at 6cc's in a 10cc band. I finally feel like I have a Lap Band! I really didn't feel very much restriction. and I had never had any episodes of regurgitation until this last fill. Hope that things progress pretty well from here on out.
