  1. Give her a hint and call her everyday! This is your health!! Ask them who they use to get the psych clearance and call them yourself. Don't let some miserable person in an office postpone your surgery!
  2. Next weekend is my last as a full stomach. I have only a 2 day liquid diet before surgery so I'm very lucky. I'm still stressing about the 3 weeks of liquid after! Good luck ladies!
  3. My psych eval took one week....and thats only because I had to go back on two Wednesdays (my only day off) to complete it! I hope you can get one as quickly! I am also scheduled for the 13th - Lets keep in touch!!
  4. You're right - The focus will not be food and drink! It will be family and health!
  5. Did your surgeon tell you when it's ok to have your first drink?
  6. Good question! I need ideas as well - I will be hitting the big 3-0 11 weeks after surgery!
  7. My ride dropped me off and the nurse called her to come pick me up when I was ready. We have two small children so I sent her home with them. A nurse walked me out when she got there and made sure I wasn't getting into the drivers seat!
  8. I had propofol for my endo 2 weeks ago and after an hour of being awake I am sure I could have driven home. They wouldnt even think of letting me though - I had a ride lined up anyway. I had no pain and I dont remember a thing. I hope you can find a ride
  9. My question was deff aimed at the long term - No Blind NG, No NSAIDS, No ASA's - I just wonder if anyone wears them. I wish I could find the old post! I am thinking of new tattoo ideas as well....something to signify this crazy journey will be needed. I was thinking about something with my highest weight in roman numerals or something maybe to cover a scar or something..... Thanks for all the input!
  10. I have 12 days until surgery and I am so scared. My relationship with food scares me and I know its going to be a struggle. Seeing your updated photo just made my day - I can do this! You are such an inspiration! Thanks for sharing with us
  11. Have seen posts in the past for people who wear medical bracelets. Do you? If so, can you explain why and what your bracelet says. Not sure if I should get one!
  12. Good luck!!! Let us know how you are feeling....but only after you rest!!! I'm two weeks behind you!
  13. You look amazing!!!!! Congrats on your new lease on life!!
  14. Good luck on your journey beautifulnewme! I am getting sleeved on march 13th. I didn't have to do a 6 month supervised but it still took a while to get here. Six months actually! Don't give up and let me know if you have any preop questions I can help with
  15. I'm not a big drinker - id just like to have a glass of white and not feel like the odd one lol I'm sure I won't be Eatting much at 12 weeks! Lol
  16. I'm turning 30 on June 1st - I will be almost 12 weeks out from surgery. When will I be able to drink again? I maybe have drinks twice a year lol so here is the question.....how far out we're you for your first drink and what did it do to you? Do we become lightweights after surgery?
  17. My surgeon does only a 2 day preop liquid diet. He said I could do a week if I wanted - I'm thinking about doing it. I need to say goodbye to food before surgery. I'm terrified and excited all at the same time!
  18. Just wanting to see if anyone else has a March 13th surgery date! I finally got mine yesterday. The road has been long, but so very worth it!
  19. My surgeon used propofol (yes, the Michael Jackson drug). Instead of using two meds this only requires one. 10 minutes after the meds are stopped you wake up on your own. I was fine and didn't even get a sore throat. Make sure everything is clearly explained to you so you are Comfortable. I'm still in shock by what a piece of cake it was!
  20. It was so easy!!! I'm also relieved to have gotten over a lot of things - like seeing an or and being admitted to a hospital. It took care of a lot of my worries for my actual surgery.
  21. I told the people closest to me at first - but now that I have an approval and it's actually happening I'm really open about it. Not telling others would be a pain to me. I'm not going to make up stories about what's going on with me but I understand why some people do. I have taken on a "I'm taking care of myself and if you don't like it too bad" kind of attitude - I can't wait for the losers bench:)
  22. Thanks ladies Probably the last "buzz" I'll have for a long long time! haha
  23. I have my endoscopy on Thursday? Can someone quickly walk be through what happens? I'm really nervous Thanks
  24. So....today started with me calling my insurance company. They told me they had received my paperwork for pre-authorization and that I had been approved. So - I hang up. Shaking from excitment and fear all mixed into one. I realize that I have forgotten to ask the woman at the insurance a question. I wait a while and call back. The woman then tells me that she was wrong. The Auth # she had was old and from a cancelled pre-authorization and that she had not received any of my new paperwork. I went from high to the lowest of lows in just hours. I was so upset. I knew I was still going to get this done, but when was the big question! So.....here I am sitting at work waiting for 5 o'clock to arrive and my cell phone rings. It is my surgeons office. I have been APPROVED....they want me to get my endoscopy next week and have surgery by the end of THIS MONTH. OK....now I am on complete emotional overload. My idea was mid next month....this month?? I guess I should join the February group right? hehe It is all so real now.....I cant believe this is happening!!!
