Thanks ladies it wasn't easy to give them away either but I know it's all worth it. I've been trying to stay away from food and the kitchen the hardest part I think for me is feeling hungry and a little light headed I had a slight headache yesterday but hopefully my body will start to adjust to the loss of calories soon I think I'm gonna go buy some zero calorie Gatorade maybe the electrolytes will help with the light headed feeling :-)

So it's the second day of my liquid diet yesterdy was horrible today is a lot better. My hunger pains aren't that bad..but I went Into work today and found my name was pulled in a raffle for free girl scout cookies..samoas at that...I never win anything and I win cookies today my favorite kinds haha somebody up there has a wicked sense of humor...I was good tho I gave them away to my coworkers..I just told them not to eat them in front of me

Omg!!!!!! I'm so hungry...I started my liquid diet officially today..and I think I'm gonna beat somebody up and steal their dinner...or maybe rob a mcdonalds and take all the buns so nobody gets burgers today....lmao I'm trippin...but I didn't know It was possible to be this hungry my stomach is burning lol and I feel a little light headed..I'm on my 4th and last shake for the day..my mom made steak tacos :-(. Would it be wrong to "accidentally"knock the whole pot on the floor??? Yea probably..sigh On a more positive note my surgery date is May 2nd I'm ready to start this journey but this hunger is a mother lol..sorry for ranting I needed to vent I know somebody in lap band land is feeling what I'm feeling right now..lol

Thanks everyone...I'm also happy to be doing this now I've been struggling with my weight since I was in junior hs and I'm so ready to get to a happy healthier weight..some family members told me maybe I should wait...but I already have hypertension I don't want my weight to add any other health issues to my life

I was approved today also congrats ladies :-)

:-) So....I got a call from the hospital basically making sure my check in information was correct for when I go into surgery...so I called United to find out if I was approved and they said yes!!!!!!!! I'm so happy after 3 weeks of biting my nails im so relieved!!! I start my liquid diet Wednesday the 18th...there was some confusion about the surgery date I was told its May 2nd but the Insurance has April 25th down either way I'm exited I'm so ready to start this new journey :-D

I was told that I qualify for single incision lap band surgery as apposed to the regular 4 or 5 Incision way..did any of you have your surgery done this way? How did you feel afterwards? Do you think it's a better choice as far as scarring and pain? Any input would be super helpful Thanks :-)

Amen to that I can't wait until that day plus size clothing can be super pricey depending on where you go not to mention bras 50 bucks a pop..congrats on your NSV!!!!

O_o Sheesh lol...this waiting for approval is driving me a lil nutty..I called UHC today to check the status of my surgery and they say it's still pending..at least they didn't say DENIED lol.....but man o man I just wanna find out so I can relax. I'm on vacation for the weekend in Kentucky( Go UK!!) with my family and all I can think about is...what if the insurance called my house phone or sent me a letter in the mail!!!! I won't know untill Monday nooooooooooo Lol I'm trippin ya I know :-)

So the surgeons office called me to let me know that they would be submitting my paperwork into the Insurance company (UHC)...so now all I have left to do is play the waiting game lol..also they say if insurance approves me they will book me for surgery in May! :-)

Tomorrow is the last of my 6 month doctor supervised diet!!!!! So happy it's over this has been a long six months lol..I've already completed my psych evaluation met with my surgeon and had my appointment with my nutritionist..in the beginning months of my sup diet.. Just wanted to know from those who have gone through the process.. what can I expect next and about how long did it take you from the time of completing your supervised diet to your actual surgery date?

Hey everyone!! I am yet to be banded. I'm on my last month of this 6m doc supervised diet and I've been having a rough month. I was doing pretty well I lost 6 lbs last month but this month has been kinda crummy. I guess I'm just getting antsy lol..I have been having a hard time sticking to my diet and working out as much as I should...even tho it's only been 6m and I'm getting closer to having surgery I've been having discouraging feelings..I guess I'm just ready to have the surgery and get the help that I know I need...I've been trying to lose weight alone for years now and I'm just ready to finally do it....I guess I'm just having a bad week lol. I don't mean to rant just wondering if anyone else is feeling this way?

Feisty aren't we!!! Lol Jk.. but I get your message it's the truth..the lap band isn't going to be some miracle cure to make you lose weight. You have to work with it by eating right an exercising..I have yet to be banded but I took this 6 months to I guess train myself into working out every day even when I don't feel like it..so after my surgery it will be second nature for me. I understand everyone's schedule isn't the same and unlike me people have children and other obligations..but I think it's safe to say that almost everyone can spare at least 30 minutes out of their day to work out...its worth it.

I honestly just tried to keep busy between work family and working out. When I first found out I was like nooooo I'm never gonna make it lol but I used the time to read up on different things about the surgery and I also worked out a lot and tried to eat healthier. I failed a few times..this past month I gained 4 lbs :-( I was so ashamed but I got back on track this month and dropped 6. I joined a Zumba fitness class so I think that helped a lot (love it) it's super fun and I forget im working out...kinda lol. You sweat like crazy and burn about 1000 calories doing and hour session...also I have a kinect for Xbox and I've been doing dance central everyday it makes u sweat also. It wasn't easy but it also wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be ull be at ur last app in no time watch

Loose skin is somethin I've been thinking about hopefully it's not too bad. I'm hoping my "girls" don't deflate either lol I'm a 42DDD right now..but I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I'm gonna start a cosmetic surgery money jar just in case!!

I didn't think I would make it lol..but I just had my 5th appointment with the doctor. :-) my final app is march 26 (ThankGod) lol. It has been a long few months but I'm glad I had the time to really think about my decision and prepare myself. I called my nutritionist yesterday to let her know I was gettin close to the end of the 6 months so I'm just waiting for her call and let me know what's next for. I have already done my psych evaluation and met with the nutritionist and my surgeon so hopefully I just have the tests and blood work left to take care of. :-) super excited!!!! I lost about 10 lbs during the diet and I am aiming to lose a few more by my last appointment.

So my insurance requires a 6 month diet for sure....it seems so far away....how did you all make it through your waiting period?

Does anyone have any info about doctor Ervin Denham ? I basically just would like to know how the process is with him and reviews about him also how long did everything take and did you have to do a doctor supervised diet before your surgery ?

So after what felt like a whole of week making phone calls last week , I finally got in touch with my surgeons office. I will be going to a seminar thusday at 6pm then I can schedule a consultation with the surgeon and start my tests and psych evalution....couldnt be happier....I'm a lil bummed ( only slightly) the dietitian says I may have to do a doctor supervised 6 month diet..six months seems so far away lol...but ill look at it as a good way to get prepared mentally for the surgery....can't wait till Thursday yay!!!!!
