Thanks for the advice. I got the gas x strips before surgery I have been using them since surgery sometimes they work other times not at all..how long did it take for your gas pain to go away?

Hey everyone I'm doing okay I'm 5 days post op and my appetite is like non existent I'm trying to make sure I get in enough fluid (water crystal light protein water) so I don't get dehydrated...but as far as thick liquid and creamy soups i don't feel like I'm drinkin as much as I should. Yesterday I ran a few errands and I think I did way too much so I felt horrible I had 2 sips of soup and I couldn't even finish I tried some yogurt but the gas inside of me is also making me feel very tight so I stop..hopefully the swelling will go down soon and the gas will go away completely soon..yesterday was HELL I'm doing better today with the gas I was able to have 2 bowel movements after not going since Tuesday after drinking a little light apple juice and some Metamucil i also just finished a protein shake I started this morning. I have 2 ccs in my band so maybe that is also playing a part idk

After walking around the house these past few days I finally got alot out today and most of the pressure is going away..also gasX strips are a must have they saved me during the middle of the night when the gas was at its worst

I'm doing better..not as sore and tender. This gas however is kickin may butt omg it's the worst part for me...I could feel it moving but I couldnt get it out..it made drinking so uncomfortable

Congrats I had my surgery Wednesday the 2nd I'm so happy I've done this gas pain and all

I can't find mine either lol the nurse said he put it on my left side but I feel no tenderness on that side I feel more tender above my belly button I'm going to ask Thursday at my follow up

Did anyone else's doctor put fluid in their band during surgery. He put 2ccs in mine.. I forgot to ask why tho

So yesterday was my Bday!! Surgery went well I had a hernia repaired and a single incision surgery..yesterdy was good just a little sore...today however I feel like I gave birth through my belly button!! It hurts so bad. I'm actually sitting here waiting for my dad to pick me up from the hospital so I can go home and lay down!

Update!!!!!! Surgery went well I had a hiatal hernia repaired which I'm not surprised about because of the work that I do..I went into surgery around 8:30am and was in my room round 11ish. My mom and sister went with and the rest of the family came later on..my ex boyfriend even came to see me which I thought was sweet. I was having alot of soreness yesterday. But I got up several times to use the bathroom and go for a walk. I slept last night for a few hours but woke up this morning at 5am to pain in the belly button incision. The doctor changed my dressing and gave me some more Dilaudid :-)..so I'm just updating everyone now. I have to do my barium swallow test at 9am and if that goes well I can go home as soon as my parents get off work :-)

Today is the big day! Omw to the hospital now :-)

My big day is finally here...can't believe it's going down tomorrow lol I'm so excited (not for the pain) but to start my Journey!! :-)

I haven't exercised while I was on the liquid diet I've been really busy working extra hours and gettin things set up for my leave.... my job is very physical so I guess that plays a part. The muscle milk lite is really good actually it's surprisingly sweet and doesn't have that yucky artificial sweetener taste. The slim fast low carb however wasn't the best lol I got chocolate and vanilla..it wasn't horrible but you can definitely tell its low carb and low sugar it leaves a bit of a after taste in your mouth but it was drinkable! I mix my muscle milk lite with 8 ounces of skim milk instead of the Water so it's one scoop per 8 ounces of milk and that is 190 calories I drink 2 muscle milk shakes and 2 slim fast low carbs a day no order

Good luck honey the first 2 days are the worst but honestly after those days it got so much better and easier to manage! You will do well just stay strong and try to keep yourself busy and out of the kitchen :-)

I recommend slim fast low carb or muscle milk light I have been alternating between the 2 for almost 2 weeks and lost 20lbs

It was about 3 weeks after approval I think. I got a surgery date before I was approved by insurance

I'm not nervous is that normal? Maybe I'll have a freak out Tuesday idk I'm super calm about it..I'm kinda scared that wednesday morning I may have a melt down lol. 17lbs down since I started my liquid diet I'm so happy about this I started out the process at 294 I'm 266 now! I can't believe I've come this far and I'm almost to surgery
