    3 weeks 2 days out

Thanks Jen! I'm glad that I wasn't the only one that felt that way! Our surgery date was about the same & our Pre-op weight was about the same! We should keep in touch with each along our new journey! Hope you continue doing well!
  4. I had my surgery Aug 29th and I am down 20 lbs so far and already down a pant size! For the first week after surgery I was miserable! I was so mad at myself and wondering how I could do this to myself. I never realized how much I loved food until I couldn't have it anymore. I know it sounds silly but I mourned the loss of food, no wonder I was so over weight!?! Parties, family functions or holidays weren't as much about being around great people but about all the yummy food that was going to be there. I am now ashamed of the old me and like I said, I was totally blinded to it! I am sooooo over it now! Cant wait for the next get together just to be around people I love and have a great time! I'm doing pretty well on vitamins and protein but I have to increase my fluid intake some, seems impossible to get so much in but I'll be there soon! I'm so excited about living a healthier, happy life and can't wait to see what's to come! Btw, just found out today that my mother was approved for the gastric bypass! I'm so happy for her! She so much deserves this, hope all goes well! Anyway, I finally done talking! Thanks for listening and good luck and good health to all!
  5. It only gets better from here on out! Good luck!
  6. Since you do have sleep apnea, it's important to find out what settings work best for you to control your apnic episodes. With the right settings it will help reduce risks of surgery and help with a speedy recovery. Although important, your Dr seems to be dragging out the process! Good luck with everything! I hope the day comes sooner rather than later!

    Protein, Protein, Protein

I HATE most protein shakes! I have ordered samples from Chike and Vitalady and have found some that you can't even tell that there is protein in them! I also mix the Protein powder with 8 oz skim milk and 1/3 cup dried milk to add 16 grams of protein! With the additional grams of protein in the shake, I only have to have one a day plus my protein intake my from food I get around 60-70 ish grams a day.

    Vitalady

Sooooo... I have tried a million different protein shakes and protein shake recipes and have hated them all! I am almost 3 weeks post op and sadly have not been getting nearly enough protein! So I ordered tons of samples from different places and FINALLY found two I can drink, one of which I absolutely love! Vitalady's rocky road and the caramel latte!! The latte taste just like a cappuccino or latte you'd buy from a Star bucks. Gonna order some more ASAP! It's kinda pricey but I def don't wanna lose muscle or more hair than I have to! Gotta give this my all!
