  1. Dr. Garcia and Ready 4 A Change are excellent choices. Would recommend them to anyone. Had my surgery with Dr. Garcia on November 7th 2011 and have lost 91 lbs in a year. So happy with my results.

  3. Dr. Garcia and his team are fabulous...I had my surgery Nov. 7th 2011. Surgery is done in a hospital which was very clean. Nursing staff were excellent. No worries. So happy I had my surgery in Mexico. I am down 76 lbs...
  4. Haven't checked in here for awhile. I was sleeved on Nov. 07/11 and as of today I am down 73 pounds. I feel great and I am so happy that I had the surgery. Everything has gone so good so far. How is everyone else out there doing?

  7. Hi Fellow Banana Babes....just checking in. My Vertical Sleeve Surgery was on Nov 7th so I am almost 4 months post op..I am down 53 pounds with 32 to go to reach my goal..I am feeling really good and can eat everything it seems. My acid reflux has almost disappeared. I'm on top of the world...So happy..
  8. I'm 5'2" and 15 weeks post op. I am down 52 pounds.
  9. I too had surgery with Dr. Garcia at Hospital Mi in Tijuana on November 7/11 and had a great experience. Dr. Garcia's team are top notch and the staff at the hospital were the best. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Garcia. I am down 42 lbs. so far and have never regretted having the surgery. My sister and a friend also had the sleeve surgery with Dr. Garcia on Nov. 7th. He did all three of us the same day and they are very happy with the results so far. All the best to you in your surgery journey...
  10. I am 9 wks Post Op and just this week my sleeve isn't responding or feeling so good. Just wondering if anyone out there has had a similiar experience. When I drink or eat anything I get a stuck full feeling in my chest and feel nausea come on. I wait a bit and my stomach gurgles away and I don't feel good until I can let out a burp. This happens even after the first bite or sip of Protein shake. I was feeling and eating great up until a few days ago. It's like my sleeve grew smaller. On Boxing Day I had a really bad stomach flu which landed me in emergency from dehydration and the violent vomiting. They exrayed my stomach, did blood work, and filled me with 3 bags of Fluid. Everything checked out ok and after a couple of days at home I felt back to normal and my sleeve felt good... So I'm not sure why I am having troubles now 3 wks later. I am going to try to go back to liquids for a bit and see if that helps..Liquids are not as bad but I still have the full dense feeling in my stomach. Any ideas out there would be most appreciated. Brenda
  11. Thanks for sharing your experiences with salad and rice. Will wait until I hit the 3 month mark for the salad experience. Have had sushi with rice and it went down fine. Sashimi was sooooo good. Still a learning experience but well worth it.

  13. Hey Michell...how are you doing so far? I am doing great other than bouts with acid reflux..i sure hope it goes away after time and isn't a permanent issue. Hello Curious!! Doctors in our area don't know much about the Vertical Sleeve and there is about a 6 year waiting list to have it done in British Columbia so that is why I had my surgery in Mexico. I would highly recommend Dr. Fernando Garcia and The Mi Doctor Hospital in Tijuana. Dr. Garcia did the surgery for my sister, a friend, and myself the same day and we are all doing fantastic and losing weight as expected.
  14. So just checking in with all of you. I was sleeved November 7, 2011 and I am down 35 lbs. Very happy with my results so far. I am into the 7th week so I am eating chicken, beef, mashed potatoes, cooked veggies, as well as the usual quick stuff like yogurt, cottage cheese, protein shakes cheese etc. Everything goes down good and the only time I have any trouble is of course when I eat too fast and do not chew, chew, chew. I am finding that I can drink water a lot easier and don't have to sip. My clothes are falling off and I am 4 dress sizes down..Whoo Hoo...This surgery was the best thing I have ever done for myself..
  15. Oh yes...that just happened to me on Sunday. Had a scrambled egg for breakfast and ate it way to fast and didn't chew chew chew and along came the slimes. Managed to keep it down though..I sure don't want to have that happen again. So easy to forget that eating is supposed to be a slow process. Same with drinking water right now. I just want to down that glass of water but can't. Please someone tell me it will get better..I am 15 days being sleeved in Mexico with Dr. Garcia.
  16. Thanks so much for answering my question about alcohol Lynda...gives me a lot more insight.
  17. Lissa, Thank you for responding because there isn't very much info on the alcohol issue Snoozy
  18. CoffeeBean, Thanks for the info...
  19. How long before you can have a glass of wine or martini after surgery? Christmas parties are coming up soon and was wondering if a glass of wine would be a bad thing? I was sleeved November 7th. Not saying right now I would have wine but can you im the future??
  20. Well I'm officially sleeved and recovering at home in Vancouver. Had the best experience in Mexico. Dr. Garcia and his team were the best. Couldn't have asked for better. Looking forward to week 2 and adding protein shakes. Not hungry at all on the clear liquid diet. I am down 15 pounds from the start of the pre-op diet which I did for 7 days so very happy so far. Very excited for those who are scheduled to be sleeved. It isn't a walk in the park but what surgery is? So glad I made this life changing discision. Good luck to you all and very happy to be on the loser's bench.
  21. Congratulations!!!! ..My surgery is on Monday, November 7th and I am so excited. Doing the pre-op diet right now. Will keep in touch..
