Alcohol!?
So here is the deal with me and Alcohol. I am a drinker...period. Not an abuser but as you it is very cultural for me also. I can pretty much drink as I did before except at way lower amounts/drinks/shots...I am now a size 6. Before surgery I could drink several drinks..or a whole bottle for that matter....NOT NOW! I only drink on the weekends..usually only one night fri or sat. Sometimes I can drink 2 drinks in a couple hours sometimes 3 or 4......pretty much not more than that or I end up dancing on tables! I have also never gotten dumping from the alcohol either...so that is a plus. Now that being said since I have had surg have I over drank...yes I have, oops my bad, but I am human .....so watch at the beginning.....over doing comes very fast now. Also I did not start drinking again till I was 3 months post op..which was New Years Eve. FYI i am not a judge to anyone......... so many people seem to think that's ok.....FYI...it's not!

Where did you have you surgeries?
I went to Dr Aveves in Mexicali Mexico..I had my surg done on September 25 2010.. I am down 160 or so lbs. I was a size 24W 4X, now I am a size 6 or 7 Small! My price for surg was 8750 all inclusive except airfare. When I did research here I found that Dr Aceves had done several several hundred more sleeves than anyone in the PNW. The hospital was also the most cleanest I have ever seen in my life..not to mention my husband LOVED the hospital food...lol

Can hardly eat a thing
I have always and still do have massive restriction. I am 12 months in a few days. I mostly only eat protein still because of this. I still can not eat breads, rice, pasta...ie carbs. I am 2 lbs below goal and I am still loosing weight , but I am 5'4 and 128 lbs...I really don't have any more to loose. This does worry me and especially my hubby. Now some days are better than others, the other day I actually got in about 1000 calories (1st time since sleeve)....which is alot for me...my average is 600-800. I was sleeved at the smallest guide. I much rather work to get calories in than the other way around....trust me! I know when I here people on the board say how much they can eat it blows my mind.... I can eat only 2-3 small bites at one time, which takes me about 15 minutes and I chew it to a liquid consistency. This way of eating is not fun in any way......I dread eating food now. I eat for nourishment PERIOD....not any other reason. Lydia

On an Airplane
Oh I can remember very clearly that I could not sit in most booths....only chairs. My husband said the other day when we were at a place where we used to eat how we couldn't sit there before....and now 2 of me could fit in one spot.........It still blows my mind. When I broke the chair at Denny's I was so embarrassed.. I could only image how I would have felt at my heaviest at 289! Lydia

On an Airplane
I am almost 1 year out on September 25.....when we flew down to San Diego for Surgery we sat in first class and I couldn't even buckle my seat belt....last weekend we flew to LA and upgraded to first class again and 2 of me could have sat in the seat and my seat belt had massive ....i mean massive extra length! Wow the difference a year makes This is something that I USED to dread...getting on an airplane........now every time I get on one.......it reminds me of how different my life is now. To have the fear gone is an amazing feeling! On a side note.....I never once broke a chair at my heaviest which was 289 lbs......the other weekend we went to Denny's with some friends and at a whopping 128 lbs...I busted my first chair......lol lol lol.....ironic....don't ya think? Smoking---Yikes!!!
I stopped smoking for my surg and for a few weeks after but I started up again. I am dealing with one thing at a time right now....and that one thing is weight loss. I will tackle that goal once I have reached my goal weight. When I do it will be CHantix. You can go to Pizers webiste and they apply for assistance if insurance doest cover it. I got it last time for 90 for a month supply which in the long run even with smoking is cheap....

14 weeks post op with pics
I have to loose about 60 ish for my old goal but i might change that to 125 so if I do add 15 lbs to that. I should be eating around 800 calories a day and that has not happened yet. I am about 400. Eating that much is a MAJOR challenge for me, hence the quick loss. Your weight loss is awesome too, you look fabulous!

14 weeks post op with pics
I have lost all weight since my surg. My ticker is wrong I am 10 lbs down from that. I have never had emotional eating issues, I was really always hungry due to hormone problems. So I am not used to these new issues at all! I have only been obese for 12 years, before that I was only sightly above a normal weight.

14 weeks post op with pics
So I am out 14 weeks. I have had some challenges with hydration and eating. I am loosing pretty steady at least 4, max 10 lbs a week. I have no regrets and am so happy! The first 3 months were very hard for me, but every day gets easier. I am now having slight weight obsessions, if it continues I will need to see a counselor. Here are my pics The first was few days ago, the second was right before surgeory the 3rd was beginning of november and the last was 4 weeks out.

Mexico
Dr. Aceves is where i went after doing 2 years of VSG research. I chose him after looking at my VSG here in the states as well. Do your research and feel comfortable with YOUR decision is the best advise I can tell you.

Is it just my HUSBAND/SIGNIFICANT OTHER???
My husband has also said the same things..."Your going to leave me when your skinny for some young dude." So yes they are human too and get insecure just like we do..it's normal and common. I have lost almost 60 lbs since my highest weight and 2 months since surgeory and now I am seeing my husband say things like, "My hot wife" so it does change I think he is getting used to having a hot wife ( not that I am Like HOT or something but I am to him..haha) on his arm.

I fainted in my closet
So I have been having problems with my new tummy. I cant seem to eat really anyting just liquids. I have only been getting down about 40-60g of Protein a day through supplements. I also am on my monthly cycle which is HORRIBLE right now with an untolerble flow. I am 26 days post op and down 34 lbs. Well last night I was on the toilet and got so nausiated I stood up and went to the door and asked my hubby to get me a suppository for the nausia and I passed out in my closet. I had not ate food just Water, so I wasnt anything I ate. Has anyone had issues like this? I am concerned. I have a crooked nose now and a lump on my head and a black eye. Thanks L
