  1. Where did you have the surgery? Did you like them? Thanks so much for sharing. Susan
  2. I got my band in July. I have lost. Nice and steady. Just felt restriced after 4 fill too. Sorry about your shoulder. Wow! Pounds are falling off now...6 months out. Susan
  3. Dr. Artuso is my Dr and I do love him. He is a good Doctor and has good stats. Good luck, Susan
  4. I love my band. I do not PB, yet. I can stop eating on time so far. I have lost 60 LBS with more to go. It is slow now, but I am enjoying it. Susan
  5. In my opinion Dr. Artuso is on par with Ren and Fielding. I think they are the top three in the area. Also he might do your after care even if you had surgery with another Doc. His office staff has just added another person who seems very nice. The hospital is small, clean and very personal. They seem to love the WLS patient. They cater to to you. I, like most, love my own doctor. I have also had other doctors who I did not love, so I was very discriminating this time. However, go with your gut. Call the office and see if they would do aftercare for you. Also, Ren and Fielding are opening an office in Orange Cty. in Middletown. Might be an easier drive for fills and such. Susan
  6. I have. Last July. Do you live in NY? Susan
  7. I was a huge popcorn eater. Right after surgery I would lick a tootsie pop at the movies. Helped alot. Now I enjoy popcorn sometimes. Susan
  8. Well my Dr. friend said Star had bypass. Also she looks alittle malabsorbed.

  10. I would love to see them sue you. No US court will help them. Just so you know they read all the boards. You would be well served if you get them to take you to a US. court, then your case can be heard. By the way a Mexician court would love to hear that they do not keep records after one month. Not alowed in Mexico! If you have go to court PM me. My lawer and I would love to help!
  11. Welcome home. I am glad to hear all is well. Heal well and lets us know how you are doing. Susan

  13. Good luck on your journey! Susan
  14. All bands work the same way. When we get 1 cc it allows the whole tube to fill up alitte tighter. This will make the part that is around our stomachs to fill tighter also. Plump up a little thus making the stoma a little amaller. All we need is 1 cc the fisrt time then .5cc each time after that to make a difference. Most people can notice a difference with a fill. So the fill amount is talking about the whole tube. Susan
  15. I have read a few posts about the saline and where does it go so... The tube and the tube in the band are all one long tube. If 1cc goes in the port it is all throughout the entire band. Not just the small part that goes around the band. So a fill of 1.5cc is always in the whole tube not just the diameter of the band. The fill size is talking about the whole tube. Susan

I think you need to wait the time out. Your kids are already 5 years apart in age so 2 more won't hurt, it will be cute! Your husband can wait for a healthy baby and you will have a better pregnancy and birth at a lighter weight. Susan
  19. I just want to encourge you to keep the faith. I read that you have been doing it on willpower but that is all we have anyway. Even with perfect working bands we can still eat aroud the band and you have been losing. Yippie!!. I got banded 16 days ago and feel like I can eat anything or nothing depending on my tummys mood! Still I hav lost. I hope to have a loss like yours when I am at 7 weeks. You can do this. Eat Protein first. I heard at a support group meeting 80% protein, 5% carb and the rest fruits and veg. Keep up the good work. Susan
  20. Ulster County is in South East NY, over the PA and NJ borders with NY. 1 hour south of Albany. Towns New Paltz, Kingston, Middletown and Newburgh. Where is Sodus? Susan
  21. I live in Ulster county. Where are you? Banded 7/28 Susan
  22. This is a good question! My port has not been hot. I was banded two weeks ago. I hope someone answers this. By the way call the Doc. Susan
  23. I really did not want certain people to know. There have been a few people in my life who have not been "safe" for me. In the past I have felt hurt by some things they did. So I told a few people. Husband, kids, mom, and siblings. Then I reminded them of what those few did. Then told them it was not their job to tell them. I told them if they were worried about me to talk to each other. Then I explained the band and how hard I would need to work with it. They all agreed with me. I did suspect my husband of telling his folks, but then his mom was so excited about the "class I took" in San Deigo. I almost blew it. Asked her what class? The lies I told are going to haunt me!!!LOL She is so happy I can now do IV threapy!!! Well I have to remember why I did not tell and what it means to me. I know I will tell everyone. But I want it to be me who tells. Thanks for all the posts in this thread. I love it. Susan
  24. I had surgery on July 28 and it went very well. The Dr called my family, husband, brother and sister, to tell them how it went and how well I was. That is three phone calls!!! I was treated like a princess. When they found out I was a medical professional they gave me a tour of the hospital, behind the scenes. I think my care was very personalized and safe. Besides all of technical stuff, I had a good time. Met some nice Americans and lot's of kind Mexicans. The Mexican Docs are kind of "old world", they want to make you comfortable and taken care of. Very nice. Susan
