Crystal your dad smoked up until surgery? My surgeon said i had to be at least 30 days out. I was going to post a thread about smoking tonight specifically to see who smoke and who had complications. Im on my last pack now Glad your dad is healing!!

I'm sure each surgeon is different. Is it a reputable hospital? That is how i would base my decision i would trust your instinct.

@pkehrer how are you doing? Feeling good? What pain meds did they give you? How long did u have to wear the drainage port?

Yes everything has been great with the process. Angela is a blessing and motivation. Aworkingprogress...i have been trying to find statistics on it but couldn't. That is reassuring! Wanted band was told because my age not the best choice and i have bad IBS so bypass was not an option so here i am at the sleeve. The only one i never considered in the 3 year process thanks for the info!

Looking ahead.....i love your screen name i too think being scared is normal....everytime i second guess the surgery i have something go wrong like nlood pressure gets high, sugar spikes, feet swell etc. I know its a sign to keep moving along and never look back.

Misty my dr said he will give me amti anxiety meds before hand so hopefully that helps me. I'm glad you had a great experiance. Amiee what pre-op diet did you do?

Aimee when i say new life...i mean like white water rafting, kayaking, hiking. being comfortable at the movies, running around with my kiddos...all the day to day stuff will be the same but now i can LIVE and have fun WHOOO HOO

Missmisty i do have FAITH that god is guiding me and would not lead me in a direction that would cause me harm. I will def say a prayer or 20 before my surgery!! Lol

I am very excited ready to get my "new life" started!! Is there anyway to find other users who used the same surgeon as me? How did you feel after your surgery?
