  1. My surgery is 12/10 and my concern is that things will start to sag- especially my sexy parts- boobs, hoohoo. How much did your girlie parts sag? Is it terribly unattractive in your eyes? Thanks- I know this is an awkward question.
  2. Yes, http://www.bjsbariatrics.com/ check em out!
  3. Everyone having surgery on 12.10.12, lets get together so we can discuss & compare our journey. I'm so excited. 2 more weeks!!! How are you all doing/feeling??
  4. Anyone from Reading pa? Hope everyone is doing well! Mine is 12-10-12. Can't wait!!!
  5. My nutritionist told me they have too much sugar in them. Good luck!
  6. Don't let it discourage you. You are going to do great whenever you get your surgery. Don't know how they missed that at your Dr.tho. Is ur surgery still going to be in December?
  7. I told my coworkers. Not all so supportive. A lot of, "are you sure you want to do this?" Of course I'm sure- sure enough to go through 6 mos of nutrition & prep and research- and sure enough to tell you. My close friends & family are very supportive, but only my very close friends & family know. Extended family mostly does not know- but eventually, ESP @ Christmas when I can't eat anything I suppose they will find out. I've shared with other ppl I know who are overweight like me too- so they can know my journey if they decide choose weight loss surgery, and know I am there for them. Over all- I'm scared to tell ppl, because I have experienced the negativity, and it hurts. I'm so excited for me, and I don't want anyone dimming the happiness of my new start.
  8. Thank you all for your input! I'm worried, as I am a nurse, and work is very demanding & takes a lot of focus. I think I'm going to take 4-5 weeks before going back- so that I can go back better nourished and hydrated so my focus is at least a bit better. Surgery is scheduled for Dec. 10. Wish me luck!
  9. I work on a surgical unit as an RN. Lots of surgeries, including hysterectomies, appendectomies and gallbladder removals only stay for 24 hours if there is no complication. Lap band surgery is an out-patient procedure. The rule of thumb is, if your pain is controlled, you can walk, pee and tolerate your diet- you are good to go.
  10. I was wondering if any of you found that you have had a hard time focusing? Have you felt more ditzy since surgery? If so- how long did it last?
  11. I have felt the same. I am an RN on a post op bariatric unit- I understand. But also, I can answer any of your questions. Working on this unit for the past 4 years I have seen the good, the bad, the ugly- but also the inspiring. I have seen people regain their life, health, and confidence. It's a new beginning. A very big change- and change is scary. The thing is- you have to do this for you. You need to be totally educated on the choice and go in to it with the knowledge of how this thing works. Any questions at all- just ask. Ill be happy to answer.
  12. Congrats! Me too. What's your date? Mine is Dec. 10.
  13. Where can you get a sampler?
