  1. I had the same pain too. I started wearing a shaper. Not too tight though. It acted like an abdominal binder. Wore it for 2-4 days and pain is gone!
  2. That's awesome. I lost 10lbs on my first week post op. stalled second week. Now on my 3rd week and losing again but around 1/5lb to 1lb a day. Have lost 17lbs in total.
  3. I actually stalled 6 days post op (after losing 10lbs in 6 days) for about one week and 2 days. I am now on week 3 and losing about 1/5 to 1lb a day. I think everyone stalls just keep Focused
  4. Oh my how frustrating! Keep your head up! It will all work out!!!
  5. Hey everyone. I am on the soft foods/ purée stage. Any suggestions on foods? What do you guys normally at this stage? I have some moist chicken the other night, did I go overboard?
  6. I was sleeved on 2/8 and besides being healthy by losing weight I wanted to be sleeved to resolve my PCOS and hopefully have a baby in the future. I don't get my period at all and currently not on BC. I hope it comes soon.
  7. I feel the same way. I was sleeves on 2/8. Had my first plateau on week one. Stay focus cause my plateau just ended as of two days ago. The weight will Come down :-) in regards to hormones oh my god yes they are nuts. I am picking fights with my boyfriend like there is no other day. And have gotten snippy with my poor mother who flew cross country to help me. I feel horrible. Hopefully the wild hormones come to an end as well. Stay positive!!!
  8. I was sleeved on 2/8 and the first week I dropped ten pounds. And that's it! I have been stalled At 230 for almost a week now (since Monday) I have been sticking to the plan. I know there is a 3 wk stall but at one week? Really? I can't help but to feel discourage and ask myself if I put my body through all of this for just 10lbs. I know I am whinning and I apologize but I really need to vent. Everyone keeps asking me if I have lost more weight and I really haven't :-(
  9. He isn't controlling or anything like that. But he has gained a couple of pounds that I know are bugging him. But he refuses to eat less or be on a diet. He says all he has to do is work out, but he is almost 40 now and well just working out isn't cutting it.
  10. Thanks everyone. Glad I am not the only one. I did pull him aside after dinner and spoke up. I told him how i felt and reminded him of my post op diet, importance of hydration and not lifting heavy things. He said he understood but we will see. Men. thanks ladies!!!
  11. So I was sleeved on Feb 8th. My mom is in town to take care of me but at the same time I want her to have a nice time. My mom is really good at putting my needs first and taking care of me. My boyfriend last night asked me if I could get his phone charger. Mind you I was already in bed and it's super hard to get up from bed cause of abdominal pain. I said ok thinking he was just kidding, he wasn't. Now luckily I have brought juice and water on our "outing" but I really want some broth. I am hungry. He decides to overrule my Panera choice (I was planning on having the chicken noodle broth) by going to a hamburger joint. I have to sit here and stare at them eat... Once again... Did this yesterday... I am starting to lose my patience with him. I don't wanna blow up but I might.
  12. I need to get my butt back on track before surgeon appt (date pending) I can hike etc, let me know what you guys decided on please!!! :-/
  13. Welcome!!! I was referred back in August and I am now taking the required Options class. My suggestion to you is not to gain or lose weight until you are weighed on your first Options class. You are then advised (aka to lose 10%) by the time you finish the class and see the sugeon. Also if you really want this, make sure you go to the class thats available the first and go to all of the required classes. (I choose the class that was availble asap, if not I would have had to wait another month) Stay on top of things cause things tend to get delayed at Kaiser if you are not. Let me know if you need more info!!!!
  14. Omg I think thats so horrible. Honestly what is it to him to refer you? If you meet the criterias what the big problem??? My doctor referred me without a problem. I say so your Kaiser research and switch doctors asap, this is your health and well being we are talking about.
  15. I use to Hike in Runyon Canyon prior to my leg surgery a year ago. Since I am in options class now and need to lose weight prior to surgery, I need to attempt it again. I am gonna attempt it next week. Let me know if you are still interested
  16. So great to hear that you are a step closer Miyme!! woohoo! Keep us update for sure! I am adding you on my FB so keep an eye out for me. I started my Options Class last week. So nervous about the required weight loss. I have to lose about 27lbs, not sure how I will make it by the end of 12 weeks and maintain it off. They made it seem mandatory, what was your experience in regards to the required weight loss?
  17. Sorry for the confusion. I was just saying that I hope that you hear from your surgeon soon. I signed up for Options Class Orientation. I receive a package in the mail sent by Kaiser. In the pamphlet it talked about the requirements and services they offer. To me it sounds like they sent me an old pamphlet because of the surgery they are offering and requirements. Prior to attending the Options class, did you receive anything in the mail and did you go to an Options Orientation?? Hope you hear from your surgeon soon!!
  18. GdzDva have you heard anything from Kaiser yet? I just got my Options orientation packet today and made appt for this tuesday the 13. Woohoo. I was reading the packet though and the guidelines seem way off from what I was told by my PCP and from what I read here. As well as the procedure they off, per packet it says RYDGB only I see no mention of VSG. Did I get an old packet??
  19. I hope they call you soon with a date :-) that's so exciting!!! Keep us posted! How long did you have to wait to hear from the bariatric sept after your primary doctor sent the referral? What happens after they contact you?
  20. Oh ok good to know, thank you so much. I practically have my phone glued to my hand. Hopefully they dont take forever to call. I just joined the Socal group. Thanks so much for your advice :-)
  21. Hi everyone, I just got my PCP referral from Kaiser for the Bariatric department yesterday. I am anxious. I know that So Cal Kaiser patients have to do the 12 weeks options class. But what happens before that? Am I already approved by Kaiser??? I just keep reading all these postings about insurance denial and was wondering what is kaisers process. Is the doctors referral all I need? I cant wait to get this show on the road !!!
  22. Hi, I am new here actually my first posting too. I just got referred by my PCP for bariatrics. I have Kaiser insurance. Anyone here with Kaiser in So Cal? I am anxious and wanna know whats in stored etc....I am at the beginning of my journey, any newbies too?
  23. I am starting as well. I am basically on my second step. First step was to decide I want the VSG. Aug 25 I go to my PCP to get weighed so that I can be referred. I too have Kaiser in So Cal. How long did it take you? I know there is a wait and you are almost there!!!
