Hello to all! I was banded on Wed the 31st and don't know how much more of this GAS PAIN I could take!! The lil incision burning I could hand, but this GAS.......it's kill in me! Besides that, I'm feelin a lil hungry and don't even know what to eat!!! I've been sippin on liquids but I'm feelin pretty crappy right now! Called my Dr and he thinks besides the gas pain that MAYBE some tube s rubbing along my abdominal wall. REALLY? just my luck! He advised me to move around blah blah blah, can't stand this! It's been TWO ays and I'm hoping I didn't make a huge mistake!! Tell me I'm not alone here! Tell me food on the Tv s just my imagination!! Tell me this is gonna get better!

OMG!!! I was banded on Wed the 31st and the GAS is NO JOKE!!! I can not get comfortable at all!!!! Please tell me this goes away!!!

Wow, I was banded on Wednesday and thought the same was going to happen to me! My BP was the highest that I've ever seen it! The nurse told me to relax and she had seen worse! Anesthesiologist came in, gave me a shot f something and when they retested.....way lower!!! Best of luck to you! Don't give up!!!

HONESTLY, I WAS SHOCKED I GOT APPROVED SO FAST AND MY SURGERY DATE CAME EVEN FASTER. IM SURE IT HAD A LOT TO DO WITH MY MEDICAL CONDITION (ON MEDS FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE) IT DID TAKE ABOUT 2 WEEKS FOR THE INSURANCE TO GET BACK TO MY SURGEON, BUT OTHER THAN THAT, IT WAS ALL IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST! THE NURSE TOLD ME IT WAS ALL GONNA HAPPEN FAST AND BOY DID IT! HAD MY CONSULTATION, PSYCH AND MEETING WITH NUTRITIONIST ALL WITHIN TWO WEEKS AND THEN WENT BACK FOR A PRE-OP CLASS AND NOW IM HERE THE WEEK OF! I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD HAVE TRIED HARDER TO LOSE MORE WEIGHT PRIOR TO SURGERY BUT ILL TAKE THE 8 LBS I LOST IN THE TWO WEEKS. (I GUESS ITS BETTER THAN GAINING RIGHT?) SO, IVE BEEN MENTALLY PREPAIRING MYSLEF AND LOOKING AT ALL THE PHOTOS ON THIS CITE AND TRYING TO STAY FOCUSED! THIS IS A LIFE CHANGING JOURNEY AND IM GLAD WE ARE ALL IN ON THIS TOGETHER! GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU! PATIENCE IS KEY! HAPPY, HEALTHY LIVES AWAIT US!

Speaking of starving, why do I have this urge to eat? I have exactly one week till surgery and I feel like I want to eat more than these protein shakes!!! It's scarrin me! Is it my nerves? Is it me dreading the thought that I won't eat these things anymore? What the heck?

Well, its been confirmed! I'm on the surgery list for Wed Aug 31st 2011!!!! I'm waitin on a call from the Medical facility to give me a surgery time and date and time for this week to attend pre-op class! This is crazy!! I went and shopped for items that were recommended (heating pad, broth, etc!) I'm very excited and nervous!! Im truly thankful for this cite and all of the support! I hope this works for me the way it has worked for so many others! I guess you can say I'm counting the days till my new luge begins!

I'm so glad I read this!!! I'm sooo feeling the exact same way!!! I was given a date on yesterday! Aug 31st!! I still have that pre-op thing to attend! As for the "not telling those closeto you" I swear we are on the same wave length!! (it was scary to read how similar our thoughts are/were!) so, it's the 20th....HOW ARE YOU FEELING??? Please share your current thoughts and feelings! Thanks so much!!!

So I was finally approved!!! Looks like a surgery date aimed for August 31st!! I'm starting to feel anxious and excited! I'm feeling a tad overwhelmed! Besides this Protein diet what else is there to do to prep for this? What's gonna happen at the "pre-op seminar"? Any advice or words of encouragement would be soooo appreciated right about now!!! I'm pretty much in the same spot you are! (Waiting on surgery date). I've mentioned it t my parents, but I don't think they know serious I am. The process is going a lot faster than expected! My boyfriend and 2 girlfriends we told! THAT'S IT! Like you, I'm nervous of failure! What if it doesn't work for me the way it did for others? How do I explain it to others if I'm asked? (Weight hasn't been an easy topic to discuss in the first place.) I too am trying NOT to think about the complications or adaptation that come with this procedure, but with time and determination, I think we'll be okay! Good luck to us!

IM SO GLAD I READ THIS POST!! I FEEL THE EXACT SAME WAY! IVE TOLD 3 PEOPLE AND I WAS VERY PARTICULAR WHO I TOLD! I THINK ITS MORE OF A FEELING OF FAILING! IM NERVOUS I WONT LOSE AS MUCH AS ID LIKE AND I ALSO FEEL SOMEWHAT EMBARRASSED THAT THIS IS THE EXTREME IVE HAD TO GO TO LOSE THE WEIGHT! I KEEP TELLING MYSELF THIS IS A TOOL, I NEED TO MENTALLY PREPARE MYSELF AND STAY FOCUSED! IM IN THE "WAITING FOR APPROVAL" PHASE AND I FEEL MYSELF GETTING EXCITED, ANXIOUS AND NERVOUS ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I HAVE A FRIEND THAT HAD GASTRIC BYPASS AND SHE TOLD ME HOW SHE HAD A HARD TIME WITH SOME FRIENDS MAKING COMMENTS ABOUT HER WLS. (OBVIOUSLY, THOSE ARENT GOOD FRIENDS) IM CONCERNED ABOUT COMMENTS, IM WORRIED ABOUT THE LIFE LONG CHANGE, BUT IM DETERMINED AND IVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT ITS MY BUSINESS!

Exactly....getting Impatent!! I got a call from my surgeon and was told my insurance was sent my request and to call in a few days to check status!! I'm excited and nervous!! Crossing my fingers for an APPROVAL!!! in the mean time, Protein shakes aren't to bad! Good luck to you too!
