  1. I was banded June 7th and it's been going pretty well! I haven't had one episode of tossing my cookies nor any nausea. I did fine with liquids (so glad to be done with them) and mushies and have segued to normal foods (define normal?). I'm cautious with everything I eat and try to stay under 1 cup of food for every meal. I've noticed that my satiation feeling has diminished so I've scheduled my first fill for August 5. PMS was rough! I was soooo hungry and unsatisfied, but luckily for only a few days. Good to know that I should prepare for that in the future. I barely lost any weight on the pre-op Optifast regimen (2 weeks) but I did start dropping pounds a week or so after surgery. I think the weight loss has slowed down or stopped, so it's probably a good time for a fill. I just started exercising more regularly and am hoping that helps the weight continue to come off (now that I got the okay to get on an exercise bike).
  2. I live in Leesburg and was recently banded as well. I would love to find a group to meet with (though I should warn that my schedule is hectic). I'm in Potomac Station and work in Ashburn, so I could go either place... PM me?
  3. Hokdo -you are doing it for yourself. And that's not a bad thing. You are doing it because your daughter has inspired you to do it - but you want to see her grow up and live her life. You are answering the call of your soul to see her flourish - it's a great motivation. I'm single and think that now that I'm getting my health in order, I think I'm ready to take the step to be a mom - through adoption because it's truly not possible for me to have one of my own with my health conditions. It's an amazing motivator - motherhood.
