  1. It's been nearly 9 weeks since my surgery and a couple weeks since my first fill. The surgery went really smooth, BUT...I have been having left side pain in my belly since about a week after surgery. It is not in my port area, but between my belly button and rib cage on the left. It seems to happen when I stand up after sitting for a while. It's like a crampy feeling, but sharper. My doc says it's probably muscle pain, but I wanted to see if anyone had a second opinion....Please help...
  2. I started this journey 214 days ago...that's when I went to the seminar....now, I'm less than 24 hours away!!! Blood work - Check. Chest Xray - check. Barium Swallow - check. Ekg - check. Echocardiogram - check. Stress test, dietician, psychiatrist, pre op diet (ugh) - check, check, check and check!!!! I am so nervous. Am I doing the right thing?? Will my diabetes go away?? Will I look hot in my bathing suit next summer?? I love this forum and all my new friends!! Wish me luck!
  3. I started my preop liquid diet today...and now I'm nervous!! All of a sudden, I'm wondering if I can do this! All I can think of is NOT eating... I need some words of encouragement!
  4. FYI.... The Lap Band website has a great list of recipes.
  5. I am go grateful for your story. My surgery is Aug 18th. I start me preop liquid diet on Wednesday. I have a renwed excitement!!! Now I am counting Wednesday as the start of my new life instead of the 18th!!
  6. I was watching the Emmi videoa (on the Lap Band website), and that is the way they explained the procedure (with the plication). I am having surgery next week and I am going to call my doctor and ask him. Thanks for bringing up this topic...
  7. That's awesome!! I think I'm just getting nervous. It's been a long journey and now it's nearly in my reach! Good luck on Monday with your blood work!
  8. To be honest, my doctor hasn't given me my results yet, but my blood sugars have been really high lately and I can't seem to get them down. My primary doctor has talked about starting me on insulin, but I'm a little hesitant to do it since I see my surgeon on Monday. I know things change when you get the Lap Band. Now I'm scared I won't be able to do it.
  9. My A1C is a little high...my doctor just checked it yesterday. My surgery is scheduled for Aug 18th. Can a high A1C delay surgery?
  10. My date is August 18th!! I am so nervous. I go for my pre op visit to the MD and the hospital on Monday (Aug 1). Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition Facts For Foods
