  1. Curious -Do all you who take Topamax suffer from memory loss? ( I took it for 2 years, and had terrible memory loss from it. Couldnt remember my daughters school number.. couldnt remember where I was going when driving... The neurologist calls it "stupid max." I told him now you tell me!... Not knocking it guys - just check into it further with your neurologists.. There may be something way better out there for you .. I know I got off it and found much better solution for me.
  2. hello finding Me. I have migraines and did not have to stop the medications a month before surgery. In fact I took them up to and day of surgery. I did have to split the dosages to AM and PM with the migraine meds thats all. And change format of the meds from Capsule to pill form . My surgeon reported to me that It is UNLIKELY that bariatric surgery will have any effect on my headaches as I have had them since being a teenager.. ( normal sized). Maybe your diet ws the main contributor to your migraines.. you will find out for sure over time.
  3. Wish I had the answer to that one.. ! For sure exercise helps you lose faster and of course following the rules... Depenging on your age and metabolism it may be fast or slower .. for sure. I have seen it all and studied from watching lots of others VSG journeys on you tube. What I observe.. RNY ers lose more faster.. ( if they start higher weight). ( men & women) very fast loss..older ones still lose 100+ pounds in 1 year if they work out.. If they dont work out they generally lose about 30% less..Of course there are exceptions.( some can lose 100 pounds with no exercise.. doubtful they will remain thin without some form of exercise though. Sleevers- if young.. 20-s 30-s seem to lose MUCH faster ( Id say almost as fast if not as fast as RNY'ers-- than older sleevers.. 40s-50s.. Takes longer.

Hi had VSG recently. I recommend someone be there to tend to you both. One or both of you may not feel all that chipper like I didn't. You need someone to help you get out of bed once the cath is removed, and after. That first/second day is horrible! I had never experienced nausea with surgeries prior but this knocked me down.. and wiped me out. The pain part isn't so bad.. but in conjunction with nausea made me weaker. I also got high blood pressure after surgery and had those meds as well. the pain meds I was getting initially thru the pump made me nauseus as well. I was more wiped out with this than two c- sections. Oh forgot to mention you cant sleep in the hospital so by day three I was ready to cry I was so tired. I told them and they were ok about doing all tests at once and letting me sleep about three -4 hours in a row. It made a big difference. After I got home I felt pretty good though. The straight liquid diet is quite the bummer. prepare for diarhea!
