  1. That is so awsome! Great Job! I have my 12 wk checkup tomorrow, and I haven't done that well, but I am so happy that I got my sleeve. I never could have done this on my own. I'm down 41lbs. total, 10 pre-op and 31 post-op. I still have a ways to go, but this was definitely the best decision I have ever made. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I use fitday.com it's a great website. You can track cal/carbs/fat/protein. It lists it out for you, and it also give you a pie chart that is great to look at. You can track your weight, and journal and everything. It's free.
  3. Hi Kate, I'm on pureed foods for another two weeks. I probably am not getting enough calories. Its really hard because I'm not hungry, and I feel like if I keep forcing god down, I'll stretch my new stomach out and be right back where I started. How have you been doing? Are you still losing? I hope its going well for you.
  4. I feel your pain. I will be 2 weeks out tomorrow, and I haven't been losing really since I added full liquids. I can barely get half of my protein in, and I'm not even going over 500 cal/day. I don't understand how I am not losing. I am ready to get smaller, and today I don't feel smaller. I am really working on getting all my water in, and it's not helping. What is wrong with this picture. I'm not ready to stall yet. I know I can't lose forever, eventually there will be maintaining, but I want to lose now. I lost 10 the week before the surgery, and 10 the week after (while on clear liquids), but nothing this last week. HELP!!!
  5. Sorry my post went on here so many times. I appreciate the advice. I just get so full on those shakes and I'm having a hard time finding the isopure, I guess I'll look online. Tomorrows a new day right?
  6. How do you all get all of your protein in? I try, but I'm still on full liquids and I get so full I can't stand it. Any suggestions?

  9. Hi Krista, I'm 6 days out, and I'm doing pretty good. I admit, I have had some back and forth feelings in the last few days. All in all, I've been really happy with my decision. I think the hardest part is just trying to cook and stuff for my family. It's really hard when I know that I can never eat the way I used to. I know the way I ate wasn't healthy, obviously, but I just miss eating. I've got to get past that. I think I'm going to have to find some hobbies out of the house so I'm not tempted all the time. I haven't had any physical hunger at all, but I am dying to eat. I've even been dreaming about food. I know it's crazy. I wish you the best of luck. I'm sure you'll do great. Stay on this site. It's wonderful, and the support is incredible for whatever you are going through on your journey.
  10. You'll be just fine. If I can give you one piece of advice, walk as son as they get you back to your room. Even if it's just to the door and back. I didn't have serious pain, but the pressure from the gas is extremely uncomfortable. It feels like an elephant during on your chest. Walking helps. Good luck. I just had mine tuesday and I'm doing really well.
  11. I'm two days out and the gas pains are extremely uncomfortable. I have been walking inside my house, and a little bit outside, but that requires putting a bra on which is also uncomfortable. I'm hoping in the next couple of days it gets better. Are you having trouble getting your fluids in. I don't know, to fit them all in there.
  12. Kate Marie, tomorrow is the big day. Can you believe it's here? I'm so excited and nervous, but I think my husband is more nervous. I'll be praying for you tomorrow. Make sure to post how your doing. Where is your surgery? I don't even know what part of the country you live. I'm in Cincinnati, Oh. Good luck tomorrow!!!
  13. Thanks for thinking of me. Hows your protein going. My headache has gone away, and tomorrow is the big day. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'll be thinking of all you guysand praying for you also.
  14. This is my second day and I'm tired too. Worse than that, my head has been killing me today. It was so bad I couldn't concentrate at work. I found someone who had one Tylenol (cuz I can't take Advil before the surgery) and it finally went away, but I have no energy. I think it's sugar withdrawal. I know it's all going to be worth it come next Tuesday. I just keep telling myself that.
  15. Kate, I am right here with you. My surgery is 9/13 also and I'm getting a little nervous. I keep thinking, "What if I'm the one person that this doesn't work for?" I have to do the pre-op diet for one week. I just started this morning. I have never gone a whole week on a diet that I didn't cheat at least once (or 5x). I have been exercising, so I hope that helps with recovery. I'll be your support, along with everyone on this site. Only my husband and one of my friends accept why I'm doing this, but they don't really understand. I need this tool. I know I can't do this on my own. I'm so ready for a new life. The life that I had years ago, that I didn't appreciate of take care of. Once I have this tool, I'm never going back. I just had birthday, and I feel like I'm starting my life over again. It's been a long 6 months jumping through hoops to get this approved, but I'm ready. Let do this thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll check back on you tomorrow and see how you are doing. Keep up the great work, we are almost there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next Tuesday will be here before we know it.
  16. I love the idea of going through and arranging all my old clothes. I hadn't thought of that, I have so many old things that I'll be able to wear again, I think I'll do that some tonight. I'm sure I'll want to buy some new things, but I have a ton packed away. Thanks.
  17. I'm going insane too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My surgery is on 9/13 (same as some one else I saw) My way of staying sane is working out everyday until the date. I was just on the line with qualifying for this procedure. If I actually lost any weight while I was on the 6 mo. supervised diet, I would not have qualified. (I had a stomach flu a couple months back where I lost 8 lbs, and I had to gain them back) Now that I'm officially approved, I can really start my pre-op. I'm not limiting my food until the 1 week medi-fast diet, but I joined Jazzercise on Friday and my goal is to work out every single day (25 total) until my operation. I know I'll have to take a little time off afterwards, but I signed up for a year. I am so pumped and motivated right now. It's great! I haven't been this excited in a long time. THREE WEEKS FROM TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. That is so awesome. I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say " Keep on Keepin' on". I'm rooting for you.
  19. I totally understand what you're saying. This is such a personal thing, and nobody but you knows how you feel. I haven't told that many people because everyone is so negative. Only my husband really supports me. I don't have as much weight to lose as some, but I have other health issues like high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I didn't even go the seminar on WLS. I watched it on the web because I was afraid that people would look at me and think why are you here. The nurse at my surgeons office was awesome. She said that each person just has to get to that place where they say this is it, I have to do something. I have even had a hard time during my 6 month supervised dr. visits because if I lose too much weight now, I won't qualify for my surgery. I'm still waiting to get approval from my insurance company. I think you are doing exactly what is right for you, and we are all behind you. You only have a few more days to wait. I'm excited for you and for all of us on this journey. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Good luck with your preop diet. Let me know how the nutrition class goes. I think its like 3 hours or something. I work right up the street from Dr. Curry's office, so I'll be sending positive thoughts your way. Have a great day!
  21. Sarah, I know 6 months seems forever when you're miserable with yourself. I just got done with my 6th appt., and believe me when I say, although some days are worse than others, the time really has gone by quickly. I'm just waiting to find out if I'm approved now, and I'm going crazy. They said I should know with in the next two weeks. I have found a lot of helpful information on this website, so hang in there and don't get frustrated. We are all here for you.
  22. Hey Gayle, I am seeing Dr. Curry in Cincinnati also. I can't wait to hear how your surgery goes. I haven't actually talked to anyone else who has done this, so please let me know. I live in Cincinnati, and I started this process in January. I just had my 6th visit with my doctor last week. I'm waiting for the insurance approval from UHC. Good Luck .
