  1. I, like the others, had attended the seminar with full intentions of getting the Lapband. But I'm so thankful the surgeon talked to me about the sleeve. I was sold the minute I heard about it! I'm sooo super excited to get the procedure done & be on the loser's bench! Thanks everyone 4 your wonderful & informative posts!
  2. Thank you all for your replies. I am sure hoping I can do everything the insurance requires and get on with this procedure. I can't possibly think of anything else they would require besides what I'm already doin...but I'm sure they can think of SO many more things. Therefore, I'm praying earnestly that all goes thru & I can have my surgery done before the end of 2010! WOW! That would be WONDERFUL! Did I mention you all are such great inspirations to me & others & keep up the posting! :confused1: Rhonda
  3. I'm SO glad I found this site because I had originally had my mind set on the Lapband! But a few days of reading the posts on this site...I knew the sleeve was for me! :thumbup1:
  4. Hey there everyone! Well, I went today for my psych evaluation & I'm soooo excited cuz that means I'm one step closer to setting my surgery date (I hope!)There is NO doubt whatsoever for me...I know I want the sleeve surgery & to live a healthier life! I'm just wondering...if I go thru all of this crap the insurance says they require, can they still back out or deny me at the last minute? Or is it pretty much set in stone if they've told the Dr. that I have to do the 3mth. weight management classes, see a nutritionist & get a psych eval? I sure hope I'm not getting my hopes up for nothing! Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. :thumbup1: Rhonda
  5. Oh boy! Thanks 4 the info...I better start weaning myself off of them now then! :frown1:
  6. I totally agree~! I've spent hours & hours just being fascinated by Tiff's posts! Thanks so much!
  7. I didn't know where else to post this question & I really want to know...has anyone tried to drink a soda since they have had the sleeve surgery? I think that's the part that's bothering me the most...is worrying that after my surgery I won't be able to drink my Diet Dr. Peppers! Just curious to know if you really have to completely stop them after the sleeve! Someone out there certainly has tried, so please share your comments! Thanks!
  8. WOW! I can't wait to look & LIVE like that! I've literally spent ALL day on here looking & reading your posts! Thanks for all the info & you've excited me. I'm just praying it all goes thru & I can get started with a new & improved life SOON! :thumbup1:
  9. Hello everyone...I'm SO excited I found this site bcuz I've been looking all over the web for info regarding the sleeve. I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes & having to take pills for it. I tried the Metformin & I've never felt so bad in all my life...luckily the Glimiperide I'm on now is helping, but diabetes still scares me to death and that's what prompted me to research weight loss surgeries. I went last month to a seminar & that's when I decided against the Lap Band & talked to the dr about the sleeve. I will be going for a nutrition class on Monday, August 9th. The insurance is requiring me to go for 3 months of nutrition & weight classes, get a dr letter of approval, a log of my weight loss attempts & have a psych evaluation. So I'm assuming after 3 months of all these requirements I will be getting a date for my surgery. I am excited but nervous all at the same time, but from reading the posts on here...a lot of you were nervous at first. Thanks to everyone for posting about all your ups & downs...it really helps! I'm looking forward to being a part of VST. I'll keep everyone updated as I go thru this process!
