  1. Edited to say, today I cooked the ground beef fully and THEN put it in the blender. It turned out great. No need to put it back into the pan. Two steps instead of 3.
  2. I like your perseverance! Best wishes! Keep us updated.
  3. Big hug to you. I hope you start feeling better soon!
  4. LOL! I love the "working on me stuff" too. I plan on getting acrylic nails & keratin hair treatment in the next few months. I bought shapewear recently. Good luck with the Invisalign.
  5. Uxgrl & Isereno, I also have a form of arthritis. Humira and Simponi injections work WONDERFUL!!!! Way better than any pill I have tried before. If you are not afraid of injections and have insurance (each injection cost a few thousand dollars), it's worth looking into it and talking to your doctors about it. FYI: Both have easy self injectable syringes, but I can't do it, so I go to my primary doctor every month. Totally worth it! Humira is twice a month but the injection hurt like hell (to me), so I switched to once a month Simponi. No pain. I even wrote an email to my old rheumatologist (I moved) to thank her for changing my life! :focus:
  6. I drink it out of a shaker bottle with a small spout and I can't smell it. Exhaling as you drink will help too. @Clk- Integrated supplements sounds great. Can't imagine being able to add Protein to tea and not even know its there. Where do you buy yours? I found it online, but I prefer to buy at GNC where I can return it if I don't like the taste, but I don't think they carry it.
  7. I also eat more than Avi and my NUT is ok with it. You are both probably doing just fine and so is Avi. I work hard at meeting my Protein goals and I get very close, but I miss the mark on most days. I not only drink my 8 ounce protein shake BUT I am hungry soon after! LOL It happens to some of us. No big deal in my opinion. chicken and other dense protein is what keeps me full for longer. Actually Avi, if you ate more, you would probably lose more and if I exercised more, I would lose more, but we can only do the best we can. :smile1:
  8. Thanks for this! It had not crossed my mind. :smile1:
  9. janerose, Caprese salad is probably another good choice. Fresh Mozzarella, tomato slices, fresh or dried basil, a tiny bit of olive oil , balsamic vinegar, cracked black pepper. If you buy the bocconcinis (little round mozzarella balls sold floating in water) and grape tomatoes, there is no cutting involved. The baked frozen meatballs , mentioned earlier, warmed up on some Pasta sauce and grated cheese on top works great too. Hope all is going well.
  10. That was the case for me as well until I started following someones advice on this website. I now brown my seasoned ground beef and then put it in a blender. Then it goes back in the pan to fully cook and/or I add a sauce of some kind. The meat gets a "Taco Bells" consistency. Works like a charm!
  11. A few of us here have found success shaking unflavored Protein with orange juice. I add one packet of Splenda to it. I am ok with unjury unflavored, but I never had any other brand, so I can't compare. You mentioned you don't like milk, but I will throw this out there anyway. You never know. For variety I sometimes shake 4 ounces of milk, Splenda, vanilla & Unjury. I then add 4 ounces of orange juice.
  12. These are not recipes per say, but I buy baked frozen meatballs (Rosina Italian Style) and heat them up with my favorite tomato Pasta sauce & grated cheese on top. You can make some pasta if you have to make dinner for someone else. - Caprese salad-(slice(s) of fresh mozzarella, slice(s) of tomato, fresh or dried basil, balsamic vinegar, a tiny bit of olive oil, ground black pepper. -I haven't made this yet, but I plan on googling some easy crockpot recipe that includes chicken tenderloin & a jar of pasta sauce or red pepper sauce or cacciatore sauce...you get the picture.
  13. :hail: This is what I am trying to do, but at times it is hard to be patient. I needed to read this. I will stick to my plan. Thank you!!!!
  14. The nurse at my surgeons office told me that amount of calories is not enough and I would get into a vicious cycle. I am sorry you don't have the proper after care. This issue would have probably been solved with the help of a team of professionals. If I was you, my first priority would be to get hold of the nausea suppositories so you can eat more. Research if any exist OTC if you can't afford prescription. Meanwhile try to sip on room temperature or warm full calorie Gatorade. I'm not a doctor of course . I'm worried about you. This is no way to live.
  15. Yesterday at costco I realized the Premier premade drinks everyone raves about are not lactose free :banghead: and my unflavored
  16. Good for you for pretending you didn't see them! They are so childish. Yuck. I also can't stand women like that. Eeew! Congratulations on your weightloss! Great NSV.
  17. I have lost inches from pretty much every part of my body. I have been measuring every month, so I know exactly how many inches. I don't know about my ears, lol. My hands look thinner, I am wearing shoes in my closet that used to feel uncomfortable, my face is noticeably thinner, I can see more of my ...uhm female private part because my hanging belly is smaller etc etc. I can go on all day and I am not even half way to goal yet! Not to mention the emotional well being and energy! :-)
  18. Can you call the local doctor you went to? Doctors will sometimes call in a prescription to a pharmacy for you, without you having to go for another visit. Perhaps the nausea suppositories so you can eat more. I have been thinking about you all day long and read your old posts. There you mentioned you ate 300 calories a day for weeks, or something like that. Also research H2blockers, Proton Pump inhibitors and antacids. They don't work the same. You probably want a medication on a different category than Omeprazole. Remember there is silent reflux. I hope you find the solution real soon!
  19. Benefiber works great for me. One packet is usually enough, but I don't wait too long to take it. You might need more packets. I think 3 a day is recommended. It has no flavor and mixes super well with any liquid. I used for the first time a few days after surgery because I read here how tough it is to be constipated fresh out of surgery and I wanted to avoid it. I still use it to keep me regular. Works like a charm. I learned about it on this website. Hope it works for you.
  20. You should stick around for a while and read a lot on this website. You will see a huge range in starting weight, health, average monthly losses etc. I doubt you will see a 30 pound loss in a month if you start at 252. I started at 234 and I might lose less than 10 pounds this month (3rd month). In regards to my health, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a few months before surgery (that is what helped me get approved by my insurance), but other than that I was as healthy as an obese person could be. However, I knew that was temporary. It was only a matter of time. Lastly, there are two more things that stood out. Research more about the band because according to many here that were banded before being sleeved, the band can be removed, but the damage left behind can be terrible. The other thing is, can you keep off 30-40 pounds forever? I couldn't. That would have put me under 200 pounds like I am now, but as hard as I tried, I was never able to keep it off. Research a lot, only you know if this is right for you. Best wishes!
