  1. I was sleeved on June 28, 2011....I'm about 13 weeks so far and I CAN NOT eat salads yet. The first time I tried it, I got nauseated, the second time I almost threw up....My doctor warned me that lettuce is hard to digest and it would take awhile.
  2. 13 weeks post op - Down 47 pounds, is this weight loss okay? I've seen others lose more. I know everyone is different but just wanted to compare. I've gone down from a size 18 to a 12.
  3. I tried the Nexium yesterday (40mg) and basically opened the capsule put it in water and drank it.....all my troubles went away...Thank God for Nexium....OMG, the acid reflux was terrible and today nothing at all. I wonder why my doctor didn't prescribe this right out of the hospital. It would have made those 3 days better for me. Thanks for all the replies.
  4. Yes, I'm 5 days post op and just this morning, I had it again..
  5. Thanks...I have reading a bunch of postings here and was rather concerned that I was prescribed an acid reflex pill cause the majority of the people were prescribed one fresh out of the hospital and I wasn't. Thanks for the response, I appreciate it, it did help. Thanks again.
  6. Bariatric Advantage has alot of stuff http://www.bariatricadvantage.com/catalog
  7. I was sleeved on Tuesday June 28, 2011. I was given Tylenol with Codiene only when I left the hospital. Since then, I have had frequent stomach pains which I think was acid reflux because I have a feeling of something coming up but I never throw up. I called my doctor this morning since I had an awful night and couldn't sleep with all the reflex going on. I didn't have it before the surgery and now It seems like every hour on the hour today, I have that feeling. I am still on clear liquids until tomorrow which I start on full liquids. My doc prescribed the Nexium this morning so I'm going to take it today, hopefully it goes away. Has anyone had these acid reflex problems and then started taking this med and went away?
  8. I was sleeved on Tues June 28 and I just got prescribed Nexium due to an awful night. I couldn't sleep because I had a feeling in my stomach that would come up but I never threw up...I called my doctor and he prescribed this. Hopefully, with this pill, it'll help me because last night was no picnic. I wonder why he didn't prescribe this medication when I left the hospital?
  9. I was sleeved on Tues June 28 and was nausauted up until yesterday (Friday). I never threw up but I had the sensation but never did. Nausea hasn't occurred today and I'm hoping it stays that way.
  10. My doc put me on 5 steps, every doc is different but this is what they gave me. Step 1 - 3-5 days Clear liquids Step 2- Full liquids for 2 weeks Step 3- pureed for 4 weeks Step 4-Soft Solids 4 weeks Step 5- Solids
  11. I was sleeved on Tuesday June 28, my stomach growls all the time. I congraduate you on the liquids, I haven't been able to sip more than 2 ounces per hour, I'm scared to swallow too much liquids and throw up. My doc put me on clear liquids for 5 days so I haven't reached the protein till tomorrow.
  12. I have read that people even name their tummies...My cousin who had the sleeve is 10 months into the sleeve and she says that her stomach still growles, not as much as in the beginning but it still growles and she burps alot.
  13. For liquids, I have frozen different flavors of sugar free Wylers drinks, grape, cherry, lemonade etc..put in in an ice tray and eat them frozen. I have managed to stay hydrated this way. It's like eating a slushie and it tastes great. My cousin had the sleeve last August and she's lost 120 pounds so she tells me the different ideas she came up with. It helps to know others who have done this and can give advice and different ideas on how to be creative with these strict diet's the first couple of weeks. She said that everything will get better and the results are great. In the end, it'll be worth it. Your body will adjust, it's just going through a bunch of changes right now. Once it adjusts, it'll get better.

  15. I'm just 3 days post op and I have the same problem, my cousin who is an RN says that our stomach is trying to digest the liquids or foods. It's strange because last night I hadn't drank anything in like 3 hours and my stomach just starts growling. She said it was normal though.
