    SOOOO Moody........

I'm right there with you. I'm about a month post-op, and have had the same feelings. The therapist I'm working with said the same as those who posted above - I'm a binge eater, and I've taken away my outlet - so many emotions to deal with, not to mention the new lifestyle. I'm doing my best to find "healthy" ways to cope and am hopeful this is just part of the healing process! Good luck to you!

    Hi hi, y'all!

Hi all! I had my surgery 5/23 and am down about 22 pounds since the surgery (10 pounds during the pre-surgery diet). I'm glad to see others out there from SA! I hope we can all help support each other.
  3. Today is one month since my surgery. I'm so tired and frustrated and teary right now. I haven't lost weight in over a week. I went to my therapist Monday and explained that I feel so emotional a lot of the time now, and she said that's part of the process - learning not to avoid my feelings and actually confront them. She also told me to throw away my scale so that I won't obsessively weigh, and that I need to think long-term, not short-term. Right now I'm extraordinarily frustrated because I keep thinking - how am I NOT losing weight? Yet I know from what I've been told that this is how it goes. But that doesn't make me feel better. I've made this huge, drastic change - but I could have lost 20 pounds in one month on South Beach! I guess the key is that hopefully it won't come back on. I don't know . . . I'm not questioning my decision exactly, but I am so SAD alot of the time and I feel like it's not warranted. Maybe I'm just hormonal! Any advice would be appreciated.
  4. So much to learn on this site . . . :)

  5. Hi! I'm trying to figure this all out too! I just got my sleeve on 5/23 - I'm down about 20 pounds since surgery. Adjusting to lots of new "normals" and fluctuating emotions, but hoping to even out soon. It's nice to "meet" you!

    JUST CURIOUS....6 months out!

This thread has made me feel so much better. I posted earlier that I'm frustrated because I've lost 20 pounds in the one month since my surgery, but nothing in over a week . . . it's so helpful to know that this "pattern" is seen by others, and that we all lose weight at different speeds. Thank you all!!

    1 Month Post-op - Advice Appreciated

    Also, I should clarify - I lost 10 pounds pre-surgery. I've lost 20 since surgery.
  8. Hello everyone - I'm new here. Just started my pre-op diet, and am set for surgery on 5/23. I feel so blessed that I'm able to go ahead with this procedure, so also feel guilty when I ask - does anyone have tips for making these shakes more appetizing? I've barely got down most of my breakfast, and tried a different flavor at lunch, and it made me gag. I feel like such a baby complaining about it! I know I need the protein, but just am not sure how I'm going to get it down. I followed the dietician's recommendations and make it with milk and a little fruit and ice - but no dice. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!!!

    Advice Needed & Welcomed

I'm not adding much, but when I met with the surgeon, he told me he truly believes that in 20 years, VSG will be the "standard" because there's no re-routing, no malabsorption, and no foreign objects being placed in the body. While I was already pretty sure VSG was going to be my choice, that sealed the deal.
