Pregnant and Banded...come join me!
Hi Ladies, I havent posted in a while I had my baby and just a quick tip do not take the IBUPROFEN. My dr had me take ibuprofen after labor and I had taken it for 6 days which caused my stomache to swell then I was unable to keep anything down, even water it was pretty scary because Im breastfeeding and I definately needed to stay hydrated, but once they defilled some of the fluid I was able to eat later on that day:)

I was able to wear my bigger jean till about 6 months and alot of my bigger shirts were kind of maternity looking. However I did have to buy some maternity pants after the 6th month and I've bought some maternity shirts, but not too much. Yes they were very helpful:) So is anyones port really sticking out now and has it moved away from the port incision scar? My port is more prominant now and some people think its the baby, I feel so bad not telling them its a port but I didnt want anyone to know:( Also my port is no longer directly under the old incision.

Welcome!! I was banded in february 07 lost about 50lbs then became pregnant in june 07 my total fill at that time was 3.2cc I gained about 5 lbs the first 16 weeks then I got defilled 0.4cc total restriction is now 2.8cc .Im now 26 weeks and I've gained an extra 15lbs which my OB doc says is expected. I probably could've done without the defill but I wanted to cut back on my protein shakes and eat more real food:) Now my diet consist of about 4 meals a day and a protein shake. Nope, in fact, as soon as I found out I found an OB doc who I now see all the time. I still havent gotten a defill and Im alreadys 17weeks, I currently have 3.1cc in my band and have only gained 4lbs and baby is fine:) I'm still able to eat also I supplement with my protein shakes, mvi, and iron. I think you mentioned that you were having the lapband done in Mexico, you might want to start looking around the area for a doc that will do your fills/defills. I have monthly appointments with both my surgeon and ob docs, so lots of appointments and close monitoring, but worth the time:) Hope this helps, how did you surgery go?

Its amazing how fast people become fertile after losing weight. Not even clomid worked for me. I too was diagnosed with PCOS, I had my surgery in 02/21/07 and dropped 50lbs four months later became pregnant. I've heard lots of stories like that. If you have any questions let me know. Goodluck to you!

Im telling you sugar does the trick, I have at least 1 pop tart a day. Still gotta keep an eye one taking in too much sugar b/c I fear that I'll develop gestational diabetes.

Today I had an amniocentesis done, b/c last week my dr informed me that the down syndrome test from the quad screening came back positive. Unfortunately, he poked me twice and was still unable to retrieve a sample:think. He wanted to repeat it next week but I've opted not to, instead I scheduled an appointment with a perinatologist to have a more detailed ultrasound done, I did get to see the baby again which is always a joy, and they thought it might be a girl, but it could always change. Anyone had or have heard of someone having a false-positive?

I use to get headaches all the time, I increased my sugar/protein intake then they went away, I still get them every once in awhile, but not so often. I've heard that the baby takes away alot of our sugar in our body, so your sugar might be low.
