  2. I am flying in, tomorrow. Surgery will be in the afternoon with Dr. Garcia at Florence. Nervous? Check. Excited? Check. Hungry? Check Check. lol
  3. I am on day three, today. Not having food isnt bothering me nearly as much as my stomach screaming, the heartburn, and constant trips to the potty. Ready for tomorrow to be overwith.
  4. You look fantastic! Just the inspiration I need as I count down my last 12 days pre-op.
  5. I live about 45 minutes south of Ttown, in Muskogee!
  6. My surgery date is October 9th! Nervous but excited!
  7. I am 20 days out, and vacillate between super excited and mortified every day. I give myself pep talks. I shop for smaller clothes and saddles and knee-high boots. I think about being healthy into old age. I think about living. Combined, these things help me push past fear... well, that and a little Zoloft.
  8. I went, got there, and backed out. DONT... I have spent the last 16 months just trying to BACK to surgery. Stay focused. My date is October 9.
  9. Hello, y'all! I am slated for the sleeve on Oct. 9th. I am nervous. Any advice?
  10. I remember the day last year when my "Scene" son came blaring through the doors excited about a buffalo plaid shirt to wear over his Ts. Oh, it was the biggest thing.. I about died laughing.. I think he thought Fall Out Boys invented it! Haha I turned thirty-eight this month.. People tell me that I don't look it, and I always reply, "well, no... it's because I am CUTE!" Ha! ;p
  11. Thank you all. I am very grateful for this website.. so many questions are answered and most are so supportive of our sleeving family! Candis
  12. Dear Traute, I very highly suggest you assess whatever other forms of self-destruction (education, relationships, financials, etc) might be going on through self-evaluation and/or counseling.... with a Good counselor. I only know that through counseling I rooted out the cause of my own self-destruction, addressed it, and did away with it... and when the temptations come back, I do away with them again... choosing to succeed .. maritally, financially, sexually, and nutritionally... one hard choice at a time. We ALL have faith in you. Candis
  13. "No longer committing "slow suicide" - I am saving me from me." While in college, I wrote an essay about doing this... and all I can say is a very hearty AMEN!
  14. I LOVE Greek yogurt and have been thinking about using it as a medium for several things... like a touch of hershey's or for medicinal herbs... Could be horrible.. lol, but it could be Awesome!
  15. Hi! I don't really know where to begin, other than to say I decided to get the sleeve done. Through counseling, I have relaized and admitted why I did this to myself in the first place and where the roots of my over-eating lie. Once I realized I over-eat to rebel, and well, I am 38 and not rebelling against anyone anymore, I pretty much stopped immediately. However, I want to Not be hungry ALL THE TIME anymore. I want my knees, ankles, and hip to stop hurting everyday. I want to be 38; not 58.
