LOW CALORIE SNACK FOOD IDEAS....
I asked my dietician the same question. She said individual nut packs (portion control!), cheese sticks, sliced crunchy veggies like peppers and cucumbers. Carrots dipped in hummas. High fiber crackers with cheese. I occassionally have a slice of peeled apple with some peanut butter on it. Takes care of the crunchy and sweet craving.

Lap Band Surgery On Dec 9th
I liked V-8 with a few drops of tabasco. Then I heated it in the microwave. Tasted sorta like tortilla soup.

Doing the happy dance for you! I'm trying to get past that 30 lb mark myself. For some reason, that milestone makes it much more real!

Lap Band Surgery Day 3, Talk Me Down!
I was looking forward to mashed potatoes throughout the liquid stage. Try making your Protein drinks more interesting. Buy some flavored extracts and add them. My husband and I sorta made a game of it. He would make my shakes for me, and I would have to guess the "secret flavor. My fav was pumpkin pie spice. Peppermint would be nice this time of year. Another thing I enjoyed during the liquid stage was V-8 with some tabasco in it. Then I would heat it up like tortilla soup.

Could It Be This Easy?
I admit, I'm a online junkie! And I've been an on-again, off-again fan of Groupon. I thought I would share my Groupon offer for today. I think those of you post-op will enjoy it. I just wonder if it includes "virtual" gas and port pain, constipation, hiccups and PBing? From Groupon: People frustrated with dieting may find other ways to feel lighter, such as carrying around helium balloons or immigrating to the moon. Lighten your celestial body's load with today's Groupon: for $99, you get two one-hour sessions of Virtual Gastric-Band hypnotherapy with Marc Carlin at The Hypnosis Center (a $598.50 value). Certified hypnotherapist and weight-loss specialist Marc Carlin of The Hypnosis Center wields the power of suggestion and techniques backed by clinical experience to facilitate the shedding of excess pounds. The Virtual Gastric Band treatment is designed to convince the client's subconscious mind and nay-saying shoulder-angels that he or she has undergone gastric band surgery to reduce his or her stomach capacity. Over the course of two one-hour sessions, Marc verbally leads the patient through the virtual surgery, enhancing the storyline with props aimed at persuading the body to physically mimic the effects of the procedure. Thus, patrons trade fashion-backward hospital gowns and the risks of a real operating table for a relaxing rest in a dream-like state. The hypnotherapy process is also designed to educate participants on balanced dietary habits and uncover the emotional factors behind overeating, such as having been raised by a wild pack of animal crackers. Customers can view a brief video on Marc's innovative approach for more information.

Substituting Soda After Lap Band Surgery ?
I'm now addicted to Crystal Light Raspberry. The only problem is I can still usually drink real fast, and I end up with a red mustache.

Holy Hidden Calories, Batman!
OMG. I just ran and checked the calorie counts on mine. The liquids must be high cause of the tasty stuff they have to add to them so you don't gag and spit.

Are You Having Problems Taking Your Meds Post Lap Band Surgery??
If they're small, you should have no trouble taking them without crushing or cutting. I think they say about the size of a tic tac. I take one a bit larger than that. About the size of a jelly belly and have not had an issue. Yet.

October Bandsters!!!
Fantastic job Jenn! I've had 1 fill and 1 scheduled for next week. Wanted to get in as many as possible before vacation. I'm feeling great, sticking to the program, but losing slowly. I guess it is time to give into exercise.

Anyone Else Having Trouble With The Holidays and their Lap Band?
I too now eat on a small plate and did so for Thanksgiving. I ate a little bit of everything I wanted and loved not feeling overstuffed and lethargic afterward. My family is so behind me, that this year instead of our annual New Years Eve "gorgefest", they have asked me to cook a healthy, fancy dinner instead. I've been planning it for weeks around food I can eat and enjoy.
