  1. Hi Tracey.. My name is Anna.. My friend had the bypass, and is now packing in the weight.. She was told she can try the lap band. Talk to your surgeon about your options. Keep us posted.
  2. I bought the chicken broth..i will contact them for samples i am interested in a few of the flavors but don't want to buy the container only to not like it and have to toss it. Thanks for the idea
  3. Ok..i guess i will try it. I have heard good and bad, but guess i need to make my own determination. Smells yummy.
  4. I totally agree.. I wanted it all done on the same day..maybe he just wanted to milk the insurance
  5. Plain water hurts when it goes down. Not sure what's the problem. My Dr said to try the crystal light, which I'm not a fan is but he said i can do the Vitamin water in light form. costco has it in huge cases..yummy!!!
  6. My Dr recommends Crystal lite..i hate that stuff.. So he said i can do Vitamin water lite. Taste better to me than propel.
  7. I only had to do a two day cleanse. Liquid diet, and since I can't tolerate the laxative my Dr gave me, i used a laxative i bought in pill form in mega doses, 4 pills three times a day. That did the trick.
  8. Wow.. I just ordered this product..haven't tried it. The reviews looked decent. Geez. What was in it that you didn't like. Too proteinee?? Now I'm scared to try mine. I think they offer a money back guarantee
  9. I found a chicken broth on line called unjury.. High protein 21g per serving.. Satisfying.. Any one try this before
  10. I went for my 30 day post op check up and weighed 20 less from my pre surgery weight. Maybe its me but my Dr didn't seem to be amused. I told him i still feel week and get dizzy spells. He responded it may be psychological or reality, but don't feed into it.. Huh??? Did he just call me nuts??? He said if i feed into it i will start putting food in my mouth to pacify the issue. Hum... He said don't eat if I'm not hungry and eat only enough to kill the hunger pangs. That the first six months is the make it or break it stage. He is totally against protein drinks and says push the water, and protein, ie. Eggs, meat, cheese etc. and i can now start with a good multi vitamin. I feel like he's saying fly little birdy.. Fly..!!! Has anyone else experienced this??+
  11. It should get better with time. I had my surgery 10/24 and return new years eve. Talk to you're Dr, he extended my time off in a heart beat. i have all you're symptoms. Don't hurt to ask. I'm here if your wanna talk ~ Anna
  12. I was a band to sleeve conversion, but my conversion happened 30 days from each other. I wanted it all in one shot, but my Dr warned against it. For the first two days i was in pain, vomiting felt like poop. I couldn't tolerate a spoon of water. Needless to say i ended up in ICU on the second day severely dehydrated. Keep trying the fluids, broths etc what ever your Dr instructs. Some Drs allow protein drinks, mine doesn't. The 24th marks one month out for me. It does get better but for me it was and still is a difficult journey. Keep in touch
  13. Oh wow..my Dr wouldn't do a same day procedure. He said he wanted my body to rest a bit, so i rested one month.. But i still felt weak and maybe that's why the sleeve kicked my butt. And i think you said the correct word TRAUMA.
  14. I'm a band to sleeve revision. Banded April 2011, sleeved October 24th. So far this has been a tough ride
  15. Mine was laposcopic.. I had the band and now the sleeve. I have in 3 inch incision where the port was. They used that site to remove the band and used it again for the sleeve. Could the other Dr be wanting to cut you open for a bigger insurance pay out . With the sleeve they also used an appliance called a spyder, not sure of the spelling.. And went thru my naval. The healing is faster i was even able to asleep on my tummy the first night. But I'm bouncing back slower this time around, but I've been told that's because of trauma done from the lap band. I just feel weak right now. I was told the first six to weight weeks are the hardest.
  16. i hated that band. And cringe when i hear someone tell me they are getting it or getting it. Oh hell no..not worth the misery. I was vomiting blood at the end
  17. I bought a similar blender.. I'm a little over three weeks out. Sleeved 10/24
  18. Kalypso.. Wow.. I had my surgery for the removal sept 28, sleeve Oct 24, and I'm off till Jan 1. I was told just rest...rest..rest.
  19. Looking for fellow sleevers from my area for support
  20. @kalipso..most definitely. I feel like poop. I have good days and bad. And yes I was told this is major surgery we had and we need to take it slow
  21. The surgery was very hard on me. Two days later i was admitted into icu, i was severely dehydrated, so weak. Don't even know how i got there or what happened while i was there. I was told the adjustment physically and mentally is a slow process. I have lost as of the day of admittance into the hospital 13 lbs, haven't been weighed since. I see my doc next Thursday. I was 223 then. People ask why did i have the surgery, that I'm not that over weight. I guess that is why i doubt myself now, but surgery is done with.
