  3. Hi- I am new to all of this and am scheduled for my surgery on June 29th. I am a binge eater and am hoping that the lap band will help me with this. Usually, once I get motivated I can do well and think I can replace my food addiction with doing a lot of things around the house and hopefully, once I loose a little, going back to the gym. I am unfortunately eating even more now as I mentally prepare for not being able to eat for a month. I did the same thing when I quit smoking and it worked for me.....smoked until I felt sick and then quit with the patch. That was 14 years ago. Am I on the right track or am I just fooling myself????
  4. Hi- I am new to this whole thing. I only began having a serious weight problem about 4years ago, although I've always struggled, I had never been over a size 12....Then I hit 40 and everything changed..I also was put on medications and that had an effect. I had normally been between 150-170 pounds tops and I could live with that...now, for the first time, I am about 215 lbs and I am only 5'1"....I just got my surgery date, June 29th, and I find myself desperate to eat as much as possible sinc I know that I wont be able to eat normal for a long time
