  1. Hello everyone, on Tuesday I went to Moncton to meet with Dr. Beausoleil's team for an information day along with 4 other patients who are awaiting surgery. The day was filled with 8 hours of very good info. I was however unnerved to hear that Dr. B lost a 3rd patient in November, she was 38 yearold mother of 4, I believe the nurse said it was due to an embolism. I am still determined to have the surgery(banding). What I am wondering is how did all of you who had the surgery get past the worry of the what if's? I'm trying very hard not to obsess about the very low risk of death, but it is really hard not to. Thankyou for reading and listening. Sherrylynn
  2. awwww .....Cloe, not being banded yet i don't know what to tell you except hang in there, keep doing those crafts and think of the income you will generate from that.....having a 23 yearold daughter myself I know the stress and the worry they can cause you.....hang in there girl and think how far you have come......i Don't have a lot of reading time so I can't read all of the posts ....where are you from Cloe?
  3. Thankyou Argon, that is good news to hear for sure, I have sooooo much to learn, my next question is, what is Flouro? Where in NB are you living?
  4. I am being banded in moncton New Brunswick.
  5. I am awaiting surgery, hopefully will be within 2-3 months. I am jumping ahead here because I have only met with my doctor once and seeing himmagain on the 30th of this month. But I was wondering about Lap BAnd fills in Canada. Where we have to pay for the Band itself, do we have to pay for the fills as well? I just have no idea yet what I am in for as far as added costs. Thankyou Sherrylynn
  6. DR. B hasn't set a goal weight for me yet but i am guessing about 140- 150 to be lost.
  7. yes I have to pay for the band itself. As for the procedure , I am a diabetic and have highblood pressure so i was a candidate in their eyes to qualify for the cost of the procedure. i did not have to prove to them about any weight management programs i tried, i think my doctors word was enough.
  8. Astrotoes, yes I am getting the band in Moncton, I had to get a referal from a surgeon in my home town , which is in nova Scotia, i waited over a year to see Dr. Beausoleil. From what I understand he has only been doing WLS for about 2 years and is the only DR. in the Atlantic Provinces doing it. AngelBear, I am from and live in NS. thankyou for replying and for the advise and I plan on being a regular to the site. I so look forward to getting to know all the nice folks here. Sherrylynn
  9. thankyou girls for the nice welcome, and for the advice, its is a very scary process as you well know, I have had only one visit with my doctor , I go back on Jan 30 for an all day information session. it will all come together im sure . Glad to have found a place where i can finally relate. Thanks again. Sherrylynn
