  1. Good morning! Tracy, our company got totally out of the offshore business after Rita.... we just can't afford the risk of loss in production. It's a very real threat. Who's a big offshore driller....like Newfield? If you watch Newfield stock during hurricane season, it's quite entertaining. LOL....as long as you don't own any! I think that no matter what, we all need to start thinking in terms of $5+ gasoline.... if it doesn't happen now, it will be a reality within a few years. So don't anybody go out buy a Hummer! I am soooooo glad I got Evan that Civic when I did...another couple of months and his Pathfinder would have been worth ZIP. So much on my list today! Ya'll are gonna be jealous, but I've got another trip to the Guadalupe River this coming weekend. Several families get together and we all have a total blast. This is our 6th year and I used to go to this place when I was a kid... love that my kids are now enjoying it too.
  2. Kat, thanks for all the nice things you said about not "needing" the PS, etc. But I'm doing it for ME more than anyone. I'm really not a vain person or care that much what other people think ...but I just didn't like what I saw in the mirror. I realize that the face lift is rather drastic...that's why I decided not to do it (that plus the $$$$!!!). But the fillers are kinda cheap and I definitely need the eyelid surgery...it affects my vision! BTW, I really enjoyed hearing about your shopping experience today!! WOOO HOOOO!!! Way, way cool!! I can't believe you tried on all those clothes AND went to the golf thing!! Sheesh!! You must really be getting around! $20 says you're gonna be sore and tired tomorrow! Take it easy, ok?
  3. Here ya go, Laura.... these fat enough for ya?? Oh and that last one...in the black and white dress?.... I've got so much hardware on I can hardly breathe!
  4. Well, got my kid all gradjiated. Big day! He didn't like all the attention....it makes him very uncomfortable. You can even see it in the pics. The first one is my DH, and both kids. The 2nd one is Evan and his girlfriend, who he's been with for 2+ years.
  5. Jane?? Oh Jaaaaaaaaaaaane!???? guess she's busy.
  6. The dish is called Queso Flameado and here's a recipe... it couldn't be any easier! This recipe calls for chorizo (mexican sausage), or you can make it with mushrooms, peppers and onions (also good), or grilled shrimp. It's all good! Take the recipe with you and ask them to make it for you!! And...if your batteries are corroded it means you worked that dang thing to death!!! Time for a new one! LOL!
  7. Did ya'll (pronounced: "dijall" ) go to Pamela's party and leave me here alone??? SOmebody forgot to come by and pick me up!!!
  8. Good girl!! Practice, practice, practice!!
  9. YOU ARE SO BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. LOL... that's what Evan calls his fellow-students..."the other inmates"...LOL! But he's all done with that now!! He's sooooooooooo excited!
  11. They don't do bypass in Australia?? Wow! I didn't know that!!? Verrrryyy interesting!
  12. EXACTLY!! If I'm too tight to eat salad, then I'm too tight!!
  13. Who's got the picture of Janie standing there with her jaw dropped listening to Pamela and Laura at the Gruene Hall?? That's a priceless photo too.......
  14. I was gonna lay odds that some postal worker hijacked it!! LOL Oh, Jane.... this will be the BEST gift ANYONE could ever give you!!! That, and the shower head your uncle installed .... I still laugh at that!! Your uncle!!.... WAY too funny. ....and GET BATTERIES!!! Can't wait to read Janie's post in the morning!!!:w00t::tt2:
  15. With salad i seem to do OK with 'spring mix' lettuce...but iceburg or romaine?...forget it! It's good though 'cause spring mix is more nutritious anyway. Ha! yeah, you'll get your fill back then wish you hadn't !! Been there!! Ah, the elusive sweet spot!
  16. You're one week out from your fill? My suggestion is to stay with soups and mushies for another week...then proceed slowly with foods you've heard might be trouble. I can't eat eggs in any form whatsoever, for example. Eat a couple of bites then WAIT. If it goes down ok, then take another and WAIT again. Every time you get a fill it's a whole new ball game.
  17. Well, some foods DO just taste better when you have a mouthful...like salad for instance. It's just not as satisfying to me to take little nibbles! And, of course, when you're really hungry you want to EAT and it seems to take forever for that food to hit your stomach! It's a constant learning process it seems.
  18. What about a gastric sleeve? Are you a candidate for that?
  19. So are Manda and her ex like "together together"?? Hmmmmm!!!
  20. I've been struggling with whether or not to get an unfill. I go for a few days when I'm fine...then have a couple of days where I seem to PB way too much!! I'm trying all kinds of 'experiements' to figure out of it's me (bad behaviors) or my band is just plain ol' too tight. So I've been watching closely and have come to the conclusion that I most definitely have the least amount of trouble when I eat meals alone. I guess mostly because I'm not trying to keep up with everyone at my table or to look 'suspicious' in any way. I take my time...not caring if it takes me an hour to eat and I do fine!! But this isn't just an occassional thing....it's like almost every time I eat out with my family! Well at least I've nailed it and I can now be on my guard. What about you? Is there some pattern or behavior that youve recognized that you know gives your trouble?
  21. Lunasa - yep it sure sounds like you need an unfill! PBing liquids is a sure sign! Glad to see you posting! Luluc - Why don't you go back to a post-op mushy diet just until your unfill?? Refried beads w/ cheese & salsa, cottage cheese, soups? One thing I do when I'm really feeling the need for some proteiin is to pound some chick breast really thin, cook it, then DICE it real tiny....I add it to soups, mostly. If DH is ordering chiinese I get a cup of hot & sour soup and add that chicken and some carrots, peas and Water chestnuts (all chopped fine) to my soup. It usually does the trick quite nicely.
  22. Kat -what did you weigh when you went into surgery?
  23. Actually, "Did ya'll" is pronounced more like "dijall"....just for the record.
  24. Careful! It's habit-forming!! You'll know when it's stuck for good when you hear yourself say "Ya'll's"....as in, "Did ya'll get ya'll's batteries yet?"
  25. Pammy - I LOVE bouginvalia (sp?) and it should do great in Palm Springs! They say the more you ignore it the better it blooms...they like it hot and dry! I had to pull mine up finally...it was in a bed that is watered regularly by our sprinkler system and it just did NOT like all that water. The thorns did grow nicely though! BTW, the reason your pics come out so big isi because you need to adjust your camera to a "small format" when you take pics. you may want to take a look at your manual to figure out how to do that...you're basically taking pics that would normally be printed to 8x10 or 11x14...or larger! It's a common mistake. Michelle-- cool story!! Wonder why he picked you?? Just 'cause he wuvs you?? :tt2: Haydee - I love cracklins, too!! ...but not nearly so much as DH! He wolfed down a bag before I could blink! He said that the brand you got he's been eating since he was a kid. Said they're the best! I like the REAL crunch ones...the kind you can break a tooth on LOL.... ever had those? (((Thank you for the package!!))) Kat -- how's your grandbaby today?? Prolly feeling pretty crummy. And how's your daughters RA?? Is she still living with her ex? How's that going? TracyinKS - did you ever make pork rind pancakes when you were a low carber?? LOL...I did! They were pretty freakin' disgusting, too!! I was a bad bandster today, too....2 brownies AND a sm chocolate shake! Fortunately didn't have much else today...lowfat crab salad, oatmeal and sushi. Damn chocolate. I'm a slave. Laura - did you send Jane her package yet???? Dang, I miss you girls. I wish we could get together next month!! Jenn's got a 3 year plan for moving down here...what about the rest of you??!?!
