Surgery was Wed & I've been sipping 14 days prior to that date & I'm still sipping...when can I eat mashed potatoes?? I'm tired of sipping lol

Jinjin I don't think there could be a worst lol it's only UP from here!! Pain, Gas, & Diarrhea!!! It hurts really bad to swallow liquids. I just wanna get all the way back to normal if I'll ever be that way again lol

Hey Yellow Rose! I'm glad ur coming home & yes the diarrhea will subside but ask to be seated in the front of the plane and get a aisle seat...I'm in bed now feeling much better! Hang in there & keep in touch!!! Congrats on ur new lease on life!!! :-)

Thanks to everyone for the words of encouragement!! I was pissed off at the forums myself because no one said how bad the first week would be...Omg this is crazy!! I didn't know that I would have a drain..well I got it taken out today but still it was awful!! Then having to drink the blue water & the contrast was the yuckiest thing I've ever tasted...taste like liquid metal!! Yuckkkkkkk!!!!

Yessss apple juice diluted is the best!!! Ice pops are really good too!! I'm feeling much better today!! :-))

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement!!!! I'm actually starting to feel a little better...I've been walking & sipping apple juice. The staff here at the Recovery House are awesome!!!

I'm in so much discomft & nausea that I'm miserable! I should have stayed fat because this is something I would never do again!! I'm very sore & very bloated! Gas Pains are outta this world!!!! Dr Almanza & his staff are excellent!!!

It's personal preference...do your homework on each procedure and make your decision...look at risk involved & complication rates as well as long term effects.

Ok thanks to both of you for the reply. Yes I'm going to Mexico & I'm going alone..I'm going to stay one night in the hospital and 2 nights at a hotel. I didn't wanna stay at the Recovery House. I'm going to take some of this clothes out. Thanks a bunch & I'll keep you posted on my journey!!

Ok so my surgery is Wed & I'm coming home Sat...I packed clothes for every day that I'll be out there but my bag isn't light at all...wondering did I over pack??

I'm getting sleeved on the 29th and this post is scary...so y don't u go to the ER to get iv fluids??

I am a day surgery registrar at a hospital and the reason why the money is collected up front is because the surgery is an elective procedure. If it was an emergency you wouldn't have to pay up front no matter what your benefits said. Good Luck!

Hello! Your PCP has nothing to do with your surgery. You don't even need to consult or get a clear from her or him. Your bariatric surgeon will & should make all the decisions...don't postpone your surgery because of that because the surgery will benefit you in the long run. Call your bariatric surgeon and see what they have to say about it.

Yea I French tips on my nails & my toes and my dr said it's fine...might wanna ask if clear to pale pink is ok if you really want to wear polish..

Hello everyone!! Anybody out there having surgery June 29th with Dr Almanza?? I'm getting soooo anxious but yet sooooooo nervous!!!

Thanks ya'll!!! It's just soooo hard...I was going with one doctor in Mexico and got approved and he told me to do a 10 day diet pre-op....I didn't go with him b/c I found my current dr due to financial reasons...well he placed me on a 30 day pre-op diet...I just don't get all the differences...

Surgery is in 17 days and I fell weak and ate a small portion of rice...should I cancel the sugery or do I have enough time to get back on track and shrink my liver????

Ughhhhh I'm so tired of broth!!!! I really wish I could have a protein shake and I really don't like them but I want one just cause I can't have it...OMG 19 more days left of clear liquids and I don't think I'll make it!!!!! Helpppppppp!!!!!!!!

Ok so I have 14 days of full clear liquids only...just wondering why some people can have creamed soups?
