  1. We are all adults here. Weigh the facts and act accordingly. Look up "cigar health hazards" get informed and decide from there.
  2. You look fantastic! Hahaha! You made my day!
  3. So cute and sexy girl! You only have bumps in the right places now!
  4. Kale is a green leaf in the cabbage/broccoli/brussels sprouts family. It has a slightly leathery texture, with a mild flavor. I chop it up fine and eat it raw in a salad of blueberries, walnuts and white stilton cheese. I use a little flax oil and aminos or soysauce as a dressing(1/2 t of flax, and about the same of ginger-soy). I also use it in soups, stir fry or however. Its very high in Omega3s.
  5. you look fantastic and have a great attitude. Congrats to you!
  6. Thanks for all the info, I will bring my computer and let you know when Im in town. Cheers, Kim
  7. Just don't forget to enjoy your life! It is a rollercoaster ride right now... find things to enjoy... focus on something else, and the weight will come off over time.
  8. I take Bariatric Advantage cherry... kind of chalky, but I have gotten used to them...sort of like sweet-tarts, and think them a treat now. I also have the chocolate and they are OK, but not as nice as the cherry, I buy in the giant tub for the best deal. Studies say the the citrate is better absorbed for anyone. Not just WLS folks. Studies also say you really need around 1700 a day... I don't take that much.... but there you are. Trader Joes have chewable vitamins that arn't bad and not too expensive.
  9. Couch surfing..... During the summer we take bike rides through our local wilderness area, into town. Some great bike trails there...
  10. I hope eating healthful veggies is never a cliche in my book! (I'm from California though.....) The farmers market is inspirational... why not eat local and organic!? Its smart is so many ways. Support your local farmers. I have been eating some Omega three eggs lately, and they are so much better tasting than the regular.... I am hoping to come to NOLA at the end of April... any suggestions for good veggie restaurants?
  11. Before becoming a vegetarian I ate raw beef, eggs and fish.
  12. Coops... have you been measuring? How about taking a break from the scale for a month. Just measure once a week or something.... I have weighed everyday for a year... my scale just broke two days ago and Its the second day I have not been able to weigh. I wonder if I should throw my scale away for a while... just to see how it feels to not mini obsess on that number....just thinking....
  13. My limited understanding is there are different approaches to Paleo.. some of them are all raw.
  14. Congrats to you! Great job.
  15. Search these forums, lots of posts on Brands of protein drinks. I like fit4life fruit flavors... you can get at vitamin shoppe or vitamin world, I like mango the best.
  16. I have seen others with these feelings. Have you ever lost all the weight before.... and kept it off forever? Exactly. WLS has the best odds of losing then keeping the weight off over the long run.
  17. So glad you have turned the corner. You look gorgeous in your new pic too! Things are looking up from now on!
  18. Just keep doing what your doing and Im sure your body will start its downward trend soon. I have been in the same 2-3 pound range for over 4 weeks... I don't have much to lose... so I'm just hanging in there till it moves again. Stalls are normal. If you need to drink more water, or exercise, make sure you do it. Fresh veggies are good, watch the salt, and mix it up by adding calories for a day then going back to your regular calorie range. Don't feel disappointed, you are doing great!
  19. If your into ancestral eating styles, this site will be interesting to you. I am neolithic all the way... so palio won't work for me...however there is one guy mentioned who is a paleo vegetarian...very limited food options though... Paleo is a style of eating like our ancestors did before they developed agriculture...while they were hunter gatherers. http://rawfoodsos.com/
  20. Some gain a lot of weight from the IVs, My guess is you are holding water weight... make sure you are drinking lots of water, keeping the salt down, and go for protein over carbs. Some low carb juices might be good, celery, cucumber, greens... green tea.... things that get the water moving out of the body. We just can't tell why the body does what it does sometimes... you are doing great, the body is just not ready to let go yet... my 3 week stall (at 2 1/2 weeks) lasted for weeks and then I started to lose again. Do move... tell your body its time to burn some of that fat! Also... measure now if you haven't... you may be losing inches. In fact, I bet you are. Are your pants falling off yet?
  21. Toast and butter is a slider for me... I love it, but only eat with or after protein so I am satisfied with one or two half slices. I imagine if you tweak your diet, you will have better luck with the weight loss. You know, protein first, veggies second and carbs third. Glad you are going in to see your Doc.
  22. I have 170.4 on my ticker... that was the weight for one day 5 weeks ago.... I have been above that for the last 5 weeks (up to 2-3 pounds)... eating right and exercising and all so... I just post the low numbers and work to get below that sometime. I just got back to that number the last two days... and hope to get a lower number soon! I just try not to sweat the bouncing nature of the scale... as long as it doesn't trend up (like it did a little over the holidays) I do post my daily weight on fitday, but not on the ticker. Here is my fitday for the last two months...
  23. I just replaced my hot water bottle today. I wore the old one out! Its really my hands and feet mostly.
  24. Cool! I may have to try a a pair out some time too.
