  1. That I've got a piece of plastic in my tummy now. Then I feel my bloated tummy and - oh, yep. I got surgery. But besides for the pain I had right out of surgery, where I was bloated from the gas (that was the worst pain, feeling like a helium balloon) I haven't had much pain. I guess I am very lucky. Anyone else surprised at your surgery, that it went well or better than hoped?

    Hello!

I just got banded on the 22nd, and I am doing great! I am now tolerating milk in very limited quantities and jello in very limited quantities. I have no desire to eat solid foods with the way my tummy feels, the pain isn't horrific, it is quite tame with tylenol & codeine, but I feel bloated. I want to be a support to anyone who is getting banded! I had family & friends support and I know not everyone does, and it hurts to think of someone going through this with a disapproving family member or best friend! So if anyone needs a friend, add me.

    Jello Hurts!

3 days later I am able to tolerate Jello in small, small quantities, and I drank a glass of milk in two sittings, but was exceptionally bloated after that. It's mainly the gas they used, which surprisingly, no one warned me about! I have hardly any pain at all, and am taking Tylenol with codeine. I have not had a BM in 4 days since they gave me a suppository in the hospital, and am trying to reach a nurse about that. I recommend v8-splash and gaterade, until you can tolerate jello. Until you can tolerate jello, do not try milk or creamy soups. I have no desire to eat a cheeseburger, with my tummy this bloated, and I have been content drinking liquids. You will be alright! I am here if you need support, just add me or send me a message!
  4. Hello, DO some research. Previously I had found a surgeon general's video saying that once you reach a certain weight, it is almost impossible to non-surgically lose it all healthily. The surgeon general recommends lap-band. My friend Janet lost 175 pounds through vigorous dieting and exercise and got egg-sized kidney stones and gained every pound back within the year. All you can do is educate them! Also, you will not be wearing a bikini one year later, lap-band is slow weight loss, and it's not a miracle cure. You have to have self restraint, and the will to exercise, and eat right, or you will gain weight. I am here for you if you need any support, I was just banded 4 days ago and am still sipping liquids. I have no desire to eat solids right now, and I find my pain is not very intense. You could say I have it easy, God is with me! He is with you, too, and I am here for your support!
  5. Just wondering, I was told salad vegetables and leafy greens. Are carrots okay? The office is closed that I use...until Monday!
  6. I really want some motivation, or some "experience" because I have none...can anyone share with me your success stories, the things you did like sneak a bite of a burger and what happened and how I can avoid it, tips, suggestions, or advice...I really want to be inspired and I want to be prepared. I've waited three years to get on the right insurance and supervised diets and now suddenly my surgeon says okay - diet this way for two weeks and then we shall operate on you - it was such a shock! Can anyone help me out, here?
  7. Well my surgeon and nurse told me for two weeks I can eat unlimited lean meat, cheese, and eggs. I should lose weight before surgery (April 22) and lose liver fat. Does anyone know how eating meat, cheese, and eggs for two weeks cuts down on fat? I'm confused!

    why am i not losing?

What exactly is "stalling" and how can it be avoided, advice?
  9. See, I don't have a pre-liquid diet, I have a no carb, meat, egg, and cheese diet. My liquid diet starts after surgery...but good luck, all of you!
  10. Hmm, well, apparently carrots are loaded with carbs, and I can't have carbs. Thank you all!
  11. And I'm scared, and excited. I lost my sheet with my post surgery diet, so if anyone could let me know week-by-week what I can have after surgery? Can anyone tell me important to-do's and not-to-do's in your opinion, and important things to watch out for after surgery, based on experience? What is this thing I read about called "stuck"? I have lots of questions, and the Dr.'s office isn't open until Monday!
  12. Hello! wow, yesterday! Good luck! And congratulations! Is the pain durable or is it terrible? Can you still cook, walk around, use the bathroom and bend over like normal? Do you need someone there to take care of you, I'm just wondering if I'll need someone to take care of me.
  13. Is anyone able to tell me week-by-week what I can have after surgery? This would help a lot!
  14. Thank you! I guess I will have to wait until Monday, lol!
  15. Thank you everyone! I guess I can't eat *unlimited* but still count calories and no carbs. Thank you!
