  1. gas-x strips works for me.
  2. I am still in TJ at the Oasis hospital. Had my surgery Friday and I get my tube out today. Then I'm headed to the recovery hotel. So far I feel great. Dr. Kelly and his staff are amazing. I will update more info. before I leave. I am so happy about my sleeve.
  3. I'm leaving for San Diago today and am having surgery tomorrow in TJ. I've got a sleeve buddy who will be there the same day. Yay !!! I am so excited.
  4. I had a bi-lateral mastectomy 2 years ago and had the tubes also. I had mine for 6 wks. yuck !! I dread the tube again, but 2 days I think I can handle. The safety pin is a must I agree. I always had mine pinned to my sweat jacket so you couldn't see them. Just a sacrifice I am willing to do again.
  5. My surgery is the 8th, so I'm getting closer. I am so excited. I started the liquid diet a few days ago and I can tell it's gonna be tough making it until next week. I can see everyone on this post is nervous and excited. I can't wait to see how we all do.
  6. Yay you !!!!! I go to Dr. Kelly on the 8th and I am excited.
  7. Thanks swizzly for the info. I will deff check it out.
  8. thanks for the support and let me know how your boobs turn out. And congrats on all the weightloss.
  9. Has anyone on here had the VSG after having breast cancer? I have had breast cancer, chemo, mastectomy, and reconstruction. I started taking a hormone therapy medication afterward and gained weight. Now I can't seem to get the weight off, so I have scheduled my VSG for April 8th. My plastic surgeon didn't do a very good job on my new boobs, so now with the extra weight they even look worse. I am hoping to lose my extra weight and have my boobs redone. I was just wondering if anyone else has any of the same problems? Jen
  10. I hope you aren't too overloaded with sending copies, cause I would love one. winojen@yahoo.com Thanks Jen
  11. Congrats on the 25lbs. and the Ipad 2. So happy for you.
  12. So glad to hear you are doing so good. I have surgery with Dr. Kelly April 8th, so this news is awesome to hear. As for your friend, hopefully she will be able to join the VSG club too. I know the struggles of being overweight and the hurt that other people have thrown my way. Congrats to you and keep up the good work. Jen
  13. Maybe I will get to see you. I will be in recovery at the lucerna hotel on that day.
  14. My surgery is the 8th with Dr. Kelly.
  15. Rescheduled for April 8th with Dr. Kelly. Yay !!
  16. Thank you. So glad all is well with you. I am so excited for April to be here. Keep me updated.
  17. Putting my socks on with ease. Looking at myself naked and liking what I see. ( also letting my hubby see me naked ) Looking forward to going out with my friends and not being the fat one in the bunch. Riding a bike with my daughter and husband. Seeing my old friends from Ky. that I haven't seen in 2yrs because I haven't wanted them seeing me fat. Tucking the shirt in jeans, wearing belts, no X sizes. Wearing a bathing suit. Being able to see what I am shaving in the shower. More active sex life. Eating healthier and feeling healthy And anything else you can think of that goes along with not being fat. I love everyones answers. So excited I could burst !
  18. I had breast cancer and lost all of my hair so I can sympathize. It was horrible at first. After all of my chemo my hair grew back totally different, so I had to learn to deal with that. Time goes by faster than you think and those are small sacrifices. I know it is tough. I cried alot, but as time went on, I started taking off my wigs and didn't care. What matters is that you are healthy and the people you love care about you. Wearing wigs or hats arent that bad. At least until your hair starts being normal again. I am excited about my vsg and really don't want to lose my hair again, but I will accept it graciously if it means losing weight. Buttt...... I will be taking vitamins and doing all I can to prevent it.
  19. Sounds like we all have energy issues. I started going to a weight loss clinic and get B-12 injections, hoping to regain some energy. Which I have. I was already B-12 defficient and received shots from my oncologist, but he didn't seem concerned after I was out of the anemic stage. He just kept me on a once a month scheduled shot. When I started going to the weight loss clinic for my shots I started feeling better. I am trying to build my level up by getting a shot once a week. I haven't had my surgery yet, but am planning on April. I am ready to be able to do things with my daughter and husband. (Who are very active.) I am loving this forum and hearing everyone elses issues. Now I know there are others who feel the same as I do. This weight is holding us back from being who we want to be.
  20. Wow ! I also avoid any social life and have hit 240. After breast cancer I gained 50lbs. I had total mastectomy, chemo, reconstruction, and hormone receptive meds. I have a few physical restrictions, but overall I am as healthy as ever, except for now being overweight. I am ready to get back to my old self also. ( or should I say a newer me?) After I lose my weight I plan on having more reconstruction on my boobs. I feel like the plastic surgeon, who reconstructed my boobs, just gave me some half*** boobs to keep me from having none at all. I've got a whole lot of self esteem issues too. Luckily my husband loves me reguardless. I want to love ME again too. I am ready to break free of this shell I'm in. I am trying to schedule a date for the vertical sleeve surgery. Let me know how your surgery goes and how you are doing. I hope you regain the self esteem you once had.
  21. Good luck Jennifer. I am also Jennifer from Ky. and am having surgery in Mexico on April 8th with Dr. Kelly
  22. So excited for everyone.
