  1. YAY FOR ONEDERLAND!!! Congrats!!
  2. I am a year post op now. I hit my goal of 90 lbs down at 6 1/2 months out. I finally stopped losing last month and am down a total of 115 lbs.
  3. I had a few people who thought it was their job to tell me not to expect too much and especially not to expect to get into a 8 since I have had 4 kids. Even in the local support group I had heard from a few of the RNYers that I shouldn't expect nearly as much loss as with the RNY. HA! I proved them ALL wrong. I had hit my goal of weighing 150 lbs and in a size 8 in 6 1/2 months. Now here I sit at a size 2 and maintaining between 125-128 lbs ha! Childish but I enjoy getting all dressed up to go to the support group to show the few nay-sayers just how much I have lost and how different I look now There is one person in particular who was my closest friend (or so I thought) who bailed within a month of my surgery. Apparently she couldn't hack knowing she wouldn't be the skinny friend :/ Well I kind of hope she still sees my youtube vids just so she can see how far I have come lol.
  4. I never thought it was possible. I thought I would be lucky to ever fit a size 8 and before I knew it I was in a 6 and it just kept on going ha. Now I am kind of nervous to see what size I will fit once I have my stomach repaired, I measured the flat area under the fat around my c-section scar and it is 3 inches smaller than that skin that will be removed :/
  5. Passing on the fat clothes is a great thing to do! I have gotten rid of EVERYTHING except the jeans and the shirt I am wearing in my initial pics. Speaking of which it's time to do another closet clean out. Poor pathetic closet haha. I have been able to successfully get both legs into one pant leg. So crazy. Punkypoo, my skin is not that bad, except my stomach. I have had 3 c-sections and carried twins so my stomach is pretty trashed and will need to be repaired but it needed to be fixed when I was fat anyways. My arms don't look bad unless I lift them out and pull down on the skin ha. My thighs and butt are somewhat giggly but really nothing like the people at my support group. And you definitely cannot tell if I am dressed. Even with my stomach being as bad as it is, it hids pretty well. My boobs totally deflated but I was pretty small in that department to begin with :/ I do not exercise so I am sure that if I did the giggly skin would tighten up.
  6. Thanks everyone :smile1: I never in a million years thought I would get down to a size 2! My goal was a size 8 and 150 lbs :wink1: Here is a recent picture of me not hidden behind my fat pants ha
  7. Thanks! My pants were a size 20. I now wear a 2
  8. Every once in awhile I try on my fat pants and stare in the mirror at just how far I have come. WELL today I finally had my husband take a picture of me holding up my fat pants that I used for my pre-op pictures and WOW! Seeing it in a picture is even crazier than just looking in a mirror. As stubborn and cranky as my sleeve can be, I am SO thankful to be where I am today :smile1: Sorry can't seem to shrink these pictures down, I will work on that when I get home
  9. I do not take anything for hair loss, never have, however my hair is growing back quite well now. I did not really notice how much it was growing back in until I went and got highlights done a few days ago and as she lifted each section I saw 1-2 inches of regrowth. My hair loss had begun at 2 months post op and finally started to settle down some a few weeks ago and I am 10 1/2 months post op now. I have lost more than half my hair volume, thankfully it was super thick to begin with so the thinning has not been noticable to others unless they saw the bajillion hair strands constantly stuck to my shirt ha THere really is no telling how long it will go on or how much hair will be lost and really nothing that can be done to prevent it either. People suggest Biotin to help with the regrowth but it will not prevent the hair from falling out. Like I mentioned though I do not take anything but my hair is growing back in just fine.
  10. Well I finally saw my surgeon again and still no answers :/ The biopsies all came back fine. So all we know is I have gastritis. The kink I have in my sleeve might be the cause of my issues though, which is why revision is STILL on the table Normally a sleeve is banana shaped, mine is L shaped though. My body clearly has issues. Anyways, I have an Upper GI this week though and will see my surgeon again after that to decide what needs to be done. On a good note he really feels he can get my panniculectomy covered, I have years worth of medical records showing issues from the excess skin, long before even considering WLS. If I need a revision the plan is to do both at the same time so at least it's only one time going under but talk about painful! Hopefully the Upper GI gives me answers and a non surgical fix.
  11. Most places are fine with it when you explain why. I have a card from my hospital stating I had bariatric surgery and cannot eat adult portions. I had one place that set me off. I explained the situation beforehand and showed them my card. It was a buffet and I had planned on just getting a to go box and having them weigh it but they said they would charge me the kid price so I ate normally. They charged me $11 and I literally ate 2 small bites of chicken and a couple of noodles. They even saw how little I ate. Ohhh I was pissed and will not go back there now. Anyways, generally I either just order a side dish or eat a few bites off my husbands or kids plates. Even with the kids portions I never even come close to eating all of it.
  12. I would definitely get on something. I have had that issue before if I didn't stay on top of my meds. I take 1 Nexium in the morning and 1 Nexium and 1 Zantac about an hour before bed.
  13. Yes! I have the same problem, however all my lab work is fine so I just have bruises all over haha.
  14. I sure hope that if it is h pylori it fixes these issues because it's really starting to get to me and I'm starting to feel like a freak again with the way I have to eat now :/ Thanks.
  15. I did not exercise before and rarely do now. I did Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred for a short period of time post op until I started getting too dizzy. I do like this kickboxing class I have started trying out but that is it. I could handle going roller blading too but anything over that is not my thing and I don't enjoy it.
  16. Yes and it drove me nuts! All my old shoes had to go. I went from an 8-8 1/2 down to a 7.
  17. I hit goal at 6 1/2 months post op of losing 90 lbs. The important thing to remember is you cannot force your body to lose at a certain rate. You will likely hit stalls or have times where the weight loss is just really, really slow. Do not get discouraged and do not get stuck on HAVING to hit goal by a certain amount of time, you are just setting yourself up for disappointment if it doesn't happen. Also since it's so you can get pregnant, is your doctor ok with that at 6 months post op? Drs here want us to wait 1-2 years post op depending on the situation. I was like you with never thinking I could get so small. My initial goal was 150. I'm at 126 now without trying to get here. Granted, I have had some medical issues that led to it but I never imagined fitting into a size 2!!! As for me, I am the anti-WLS patient haha. I have never counted calories, carbs, Protein. I rarely exercise. I just eat protein first and I eat every few hours. I just had to do what I had to do and let my sleeve work for me. I don't deprive myself but I also do not overindulge in treats either. Everyones body is different so you can't really go off anyone elses experience.
  18. I wish they would treat me like a queen I don't see the doctor til Friday. They said I had to wait at least 2 weeks for the results from the biopsies and that puts me at 2 1/2 weeks :/
  19. I just need to complain. I am such an impatient person as it is. But really I am tired of waiting to find out why I am stuggling to eat, it's just not natural to take a bite of food and be stuffed. I want to know why I burp ALL day long now. I want to know why I didn't have this issue until 10 months out?! And really, tonight, I want to know why my sleeve is on fire enough though I didn't eat anything super spicy and I took both my Nexiums and my Zantac yet my sleeve is being a mean jerk and causing me pain tonight *sigh* This feeling sucks. There isn't a nicer way to put it :/ And of course I have been reading up more on H Pylori, since that is what the drs assume is my issue and well the medications used for it intimidate me, it seems a lot of people have side effects from the meds and well that annoys me. UGH! The last month has just been crappy and I'm ready for it to get better, too many deaths, too much drama and now too much pain. IT SUCKS! Ok, I'm done complaining. For now anyways
  20. What an absolute bummer! Praying for you!
  21. Bwahahaha! That made me laugh and being a dork myself, I googled it and there was a 10 year age gap lol.
