I have never heard of someone paying $45,000. I am going to a center of excellence and EVERYTHING which includes surgeon fees, hospital stay, anesthesia, and BLIS coverage (basically insurance for complications) is running me $16,000. I am being sleeved on March 14. My husband said he was behind me 100% as long as I had it done in the US at a center of excellence with the complication insurance. Good luck to you. Jennifer

Every surgeon is different......just personal preference I guess. My surgeon told me that even him and his partner have two sets of rules. My surgeon's partner puts everyone on a strict protein shake only diet for 2 weeks before surgery. Mine just says do low carb for two weeks before surgery except the day before and that day, clear liquids only. I will be in the hospital one day and have a drain and pain pump.

Had really hoped to get sleeved in February but, everything happens for a reason. My date is March 14, 2011. I am VERY excited and less nervous by the day. Just very ready. :-D Just wanted to share my good news. Jennifer

Mine is a 3 day waiting period for it to start unless there is surgery and it begins the day of surgery. Mine is 80% pay but they do not tax it so it works out about even.

My surgery is $16,500. I am in Lexington, KY.

Just a thought but maybe the pill isn't absorbing quite like it used to. I would definitely go see the doctor. There's no reason to feel so blue when there are so many different medications they can try. Thinking of you...... Jennifer
