  3. For 10 years + I have prayed, asked, begged God to give me strength to be able to lose weght and keep it off. For some reason or another it didn't happen. When I found and was given this tool I felt completely blessed and protected by HIM, and I knew, once I had the operation done, that He granted this gift to me. Now the rest is up to me

  6. OMG Cludgie, I'm in your same situation, only difference is thta I'm doing quite well on the exercise. My problem is 1)bread, whole meal but still full of carbs, I snack on bread a couple of times a day 2) Alcohol, Rose wine, at least a bottle a week, mostly on weekeneds. My appointment with Consultant is on the 21st July, so I am hoping to shed a few lbs by then! Good luck to us!
  7. Check this thread out http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/15235-changed-goal/page__p__129184#entry129184
  8. We have roughly the same statistics. At first I was aiming for a normal BMI, which means losing about 15 more lbs. Now I don't know.I've changed goal so many times. Maybe aim for a BMI of 24-25? I too carry most of my excess weight round my middle. How old are you if you don't mind me asking?
  9. Loving your pictures, your are skinny and glowing!!
  10. A bougie is just an instrument that surgeons use to guide them roughly for size of the sleeve. Different surgeons use different bougie sizes, French is the measurement used for size of bougies, from 32 fr to around 38 fr is what they use mostly, but there isn't much of a difference, only milimeters between the diff sizes. The staples I know that are titanium staples, but that's all I know, hope this helps
  11. You will be in my prayers, be strong, have faith, all will go well, hugs.
  12. There is a lot of controversy about this subject. I, for one, believe that that is the case, we do go into starvation mode after a few months and we need to up our calories eventually to around 1200. A lot of people however continue to lose weight on less than 1000 calories, but in my opinion it's not the healthiest way to do it.
  13. Today at the gym I pushed myself to the limit. When I thought I couldn't go on any more (I was doing a body combat class which is quite intense) I had that picture of me in Venice in my head,I was probably at my largest there, and I kept imagining I was punching the fat out of me, I'm gonna do this more often!
  14. Honestly you guys don't know how much your encouragement means to me!! COOPS and everyone who still haven't reachet goal YET, we can do this!!
  15. I will look at my fat pictures more often now too, let's see if it helps
  16. People now think I'm younger than my 42 years, even though I can tell that my face is "older" than when I was fat, a bit more wrinkles and the lines from my nose to mouth as someone just mentioned are much deeper. But guess what, I'll have the saggier face over my fatter, full moon face any day!
  17. I'm sorry you're feeling this way now Tamz, I think we all go through some sort of, "could I not have done this myself?" feeling, but it will pass, you'll start losing weight and feeling better in no time!
  18. Aww thank you so much guys, I'm near tears now. I do realise that I've achieved a lot even if I don't lose anymore weight, I feel 90% happy with myself, so from today I'm starting to push myself again, thanks for the kind words
  19. Images added to a gallery album owned by chilo1 in Before and After Gastric Sleeve Photos

  20. I'm angry at myself, 10 lbs to goal and have been stalled for months and it's my fault. I am not working my sleeve as well as I could. I've been going through old pictures to remind myself why I had this operation done in the first place and I can see why. I was obese and unhappy . Now I'm still overweight, so I need to finish what I started. Feel free to tell me off for being a complete idiot and not making the most of what God so kindly gave me, a new lease of life, MY SLEEVE!! OK now I can't figure out how to post my pictures, but they're in my gallery if you want to have a look
  21. I love shrimps and scallops, and eat them a few times a week. Scallops cooked in a bit of olive oil , pepper and lemon. Shrimp just whatever is available, today I put some shrimps in a pan with chilli, garlic and a bit of white wine, yummy!!
  22. You'll be fine for swimming 8 weeks out, I'm sure!
  23. How amazing Tiff, thanks for sharing!!
