  1. I got the bariatric advantage chewables after I looked at the vitamin comparison spreadsheet, that I don't remember who posted and they are not too shabby. I would recommend something other than their mint calcium losenges however, they are terrrible!
  2. Tiff, Since you have seen it all and done so much research can you explain to me what types of acid reducers I will need. Also post op friends, I've been told to bring gas x strips to the hospital w/ me? Is this for the burping, or all the air from the laproscopy? Just wondering. Anna
  3. Christy, Where are you having your surgery?
  4. My pcp had never heard of the sleeve either, but when explained to her, especially that I could have similar results to the bypass without the risks of malabsorption she was incredibly supportive. Good luck!
  5. I am so excited! Surgery is three weeks for tomorrow. I keep looking at everyone's weight loss tickers and getting soooooooooooo excited. Thanks for all the motivation!
  6. Yay! I am so excited to continue watching your journey. I'm 22 days out. Its all so crazy isn't it???? What a great gift to give yourself and your baby. Best of luck!
  7. Yeah, he gets to deal with all my crazy and is does so with so much grace and love. I am very blessed to have him in my life and blessed that he is wise enough to step back and support me in my dreams.
  8. I know advice from a preop probably isn't helpful, but maybe now is a time to focus on all the NSV and stay off the scale until you can see some victories else where as well. I've been tracking your progress and I admire you! Its great that you being proactive, but you will get there. Thanks for posting.
  9. I am on my second day of no diet coke! I am making it. I go back and forth between being really proud, to moments where I feel like a three year old and I wanna stomp my feet. This is just the first step of harder things to come, but it is also so excited to be walking in the right direction.
  10. Laura I could really use these. Let me know how to contact you and make arrangements. Thanks, Anna
  11. Well once again thanks all! I had an excellent chat with Tiffy and Hershey as well. I finally sat down with my man and talked and he was so together and healthy about the whole thing. He says he feels like he wants to marry me this year, but he also is aware that he has made huge life changes, I am about to embark on huge changes and he wants to be a support to me and feels like we should let some of the dust clear and then focus on our future together. So.....apparently I ended up with a wise fellow. Thanks all!
  12. WOW!!! How great for you. It is so good to hear about your success. Congratulations.
  13. You are all so great! I'm 31 so not a spring chicken as far as relationships. I appreciate the advice, and today I'm newly focused on me. I do have loads of work to do on my mind, body, and spirit, and today that is what I can control.
  14. Good for you!!! You look amazing and it sounds like your outlook has been the thing that has transformed the most. I know the feeling of dreading things like summer, its such a gift to you, your kids, and your spouse that you are able to be the real you instead of the girl trapped inside. I can't wait!!!! Congrats! Anna
  15. Yay for you! I am so excited to hear from my future sleeve sisters. Keep us posted and know that we are looking forward to hearing all the ups and downs and being a support to you. Best of luck you are in my thoughts. Anna
  16. This is not weight loss related this is me freaking out and I don't know what to do about it. I have been dating my boyfriend for over two years, we are Mormon which typically means dating is VERY short and then people get hitched, but thankfully that hasn't been the case with us, however, we have been talking about getting married for seven months I don't understand what we are waiting for. I feel so annoyed. I feel like my life is in limbo and that I have no say about what happens next. I'm pissed! Talk me down ladies.
  17. Yay! Good for you, I'm glad the pain was so manageable. Can't wait to join you. Anna
  18. Hey fellow March sleevers. I am scheduled for Mar 25th with Dr. Aceves. I have ordered a bunch of the products as suggested on theworldaccordingtoeggface.com, she has been a VERY successful RNY patient and now blogs, she has loads of recipes for a variety of protein shakes, etc. I am so excited to get going!!!!
  19. Tiff, Thank you so much! You are my hero. I am so excited and the information was invaluable! Thank you, Anna
  20. Thanks ya'll. I am in a bit of a panic. I know at one point I read some excellent packng advice for Dr. Aceves and if anyone knows where that is. Also, what stuff would you guys recommmend having when you get home? I'm arranging having a full week off, do I need to have my Mama come take care of me? What would ya'll do?
  21. My oh my, So...I had originally scheduled my surgery for this June with a surgeon here in UT. A great surgeon, but his cost was just as great, well as I have read, posted, and chatted with all of you I have had a change. I am scheduled to have surgery one month from today with Dr. Aceves! This is all really happening. I can't believe it. Anna
  22. If you guys haven't already check out the blog at theworldaccordingtoeggface.com she has been a successful rny patient and has a variety of recipes for protein shakes at all phases in the post op world, as well as some links to some special deals for some of the proteins out there.
  23. Tiff, I have loved ones who are in 12 step recovery programs and one of the most important steps to the individuals who are successful is that after they become sober, their life is spent in serving others who struggle with the same issues. I have watched you on these boards for a few months now and know without a doubt one of the keys to your success and something that gives the rest of us hope, is your unselfish, constant service to the rest of us who are struggling, striving and hoping to someday to be able to have the perspective you do physically and mentally. Congrats lady!!!
  24. Thanks all! My surgery isn't until June and I don't know if this will be the thing that changes it, but I am hopeful. My family has always had issues with backpain even those members without weight problems. I am very frustrated, I've been to see my phusician and once again given a round of muscle relaxers and I'm trying to function and work. Thanks for letting me vent. I found myself on the verge of tears earlier, hoping that I could just walk and feel normal today. Anna
  25. I have chronic back problems that are related to my weight. This last week I have developed severe sciatic pain. I've seen my dr and she gave me muscle relaxers and they have a helped a very small amount. I can't walk upright and I'm in so much pain. Have any of you experienced this and can give me some ideas what I can do? I am on the verge of tears, but have to keep working. Thanks, Anna
