  1. i had moderate Barrett's was diagnosed in 2004. it was the ONLY positive barrett's biopsy i ever had, every year after that was negative once i was on the right meds and the reflux was stopped... had a sleeve done in June of this year. reflux is all but gone.
  2. i was a HUGE Water drinker, a gulper and drank it ALL day long, in addition to my GALLON of regular pop! now i can't tolerate it plain, i have it with crystal light only, and i drink a TON of sugar free Arnold Palmer now too...
  3. wake up: decaf coffee breakfast: P3 drink: bottle of sugar free Arnold Palmer snack: few pieces of Jack Links lunch: Wendy's chili snack: Baby Belle cheese late snack: Quest bar drink: bottle of Water with crystal light dinner: 3 naked wings, drum part only (meat) water near bedtime
  4. i am 14 wks out tomorrow and have found myself getting a bit lax over the last 2 weeks. I too had to sit down and re-focus my goals and get my butt going again. the first thing i did was spend the weekend filling bags of clothes that are now TOO BIG! WHOOP!! i never thought i would see that happen. the next thing i did was get an outfit out that was my "GOAL" outfit that i bought several months before my surgery and i guess i underestimated myself because it JUST about fits already! i realize now that i have to set an even lower goal for size and go out and get a NEW goal outfit! it will hang on my bedroom door until it fits. next i sat down and looked over my food diaries, my nutrition sheets, etc from my pre-op nutrition counseling sessions. i have 2 kids also and they are my total goal. seeing them grow up and marry, have their own kids, etc. lastly, I just ordered 2 canisters of
  5. no, not shakology. they have entire lines of various fitness/srength programs like brazil butt lift, slim in 6, body beast, Px90 1-3, etc. i am looking for anybody who has used any of these programs to give me some reviews on their programs which they liked the best and why. i don't need shakes for weight loss. i had bariatric surgery...
  6. i did not join PF after all, they told me they don't really do much with strength and that their focus is on fitness only. HUH? i have been online looking at the Beachbody stuff and this might be a good option to start at home with a regimen. anybody have good recommendations on any of their programs? i am VERY new and very much a beginner, and just starting to get in shape after losing 55 lbs (so far, i have 35 to go). i walk daily so i am looking more for a training program for strength and don't want anything that i will turn off after 4-5 minutes because it's killing me. thanks!
  7. i went in and asked for a DETAILED tour this past weekend. prior to that i had been in just to look around. they guy that gave me the tour just focused over and over on the treadmills, arc trainers and ellipticals. there was ONE person in the weight area. i asked him if he could take me in that area and tell me about their weight/strength training programs and he told me that they 'didn't really do much with that stuff'. i told him i was really interested in getting started in lifting and building and the response i got was less than awesome...in fact, what i was told is that the focus there is more about 'fitness' and not so much about muscle. HUH??????? i was SUPER disappointed. i didn't join after all. i STILL am trying to figure out something at home to do and i have found a couple of really good programs from BeachBody so i'll likely go with one of those for now.
  8. i am 13 wks out and just starting to notice more strands than normal coming out, but nothing scary yet. i use Nioxin every day and doing the Biotin thing too. if it really starts going i plan to cut is very short, like pixie short and maybe i'll grow it back, maybe not!
  9. i take Biotin, zinc AND i use Nioxin shampoo/conditioner. i do it all. but, at 13 wks out i am noticing that my hair is getting a little lifeless and i THINK i am starting the loss stage. i plan to cut it. like Pixie short. just cut it off. and i'm done. i want to look SMOKIN hot and i'm only 35 lbs from goal at this point, so i'm ok with just cutting it off.
  10. i am 13 wks out and on all foods since week 8. i have had rice a few times. the issue for ME is that there is so little room and rice can take up a lot of it. i use about 1 TBSP with 1/2 cup of chinese for my lunch. that's it. no more. i have found that my tastes for most starchy carbs is really dull now.
  11. i took the calcium chews for a while however they are calcium carbonate so i switched to citrical gummies
  12. i am 12 wks out, today for lunch i had a crispy beef taco. no probs. just ONE fills me up, 3 months ago it took 4...
  13. Hey everyone- it's me again, the OP...3 wk stall was tough, loss picked back up and moved GREAT until now...GRRRRR in a STALL AGAIN~! about 12 wks out now, so not too bad but scale hasn't moved in a week. again. so off to the gym i go tonight to BUST IT and hopefully things will get moving again!
  14. thanks everyone. i have decided to go ahead. i will use this next tool (PF) to start my fitness journey as part of my total journey to regain my health.
  15. i am a die hard Muscle MIlk Lite drinker (pre-mixed) and Quest bar eater. i have tried a LOT of the Protein options out there, these two are about the only ones i really care for at all. i saw at wal-greens the other day they had these little packs of gummies that are protein but i didn't buy them because i have been so finicky about my Proteins i was afraid i wouldn't like them!
  16. diva- congrats on your surgery! it is a tough road but definitely worth it. the only words of advice i have for you is to stick exactly to your program. i followed it as exactly as i could, even getting out of bed early to fit in extra Protein shakes. i have walked twice a day since my surgery and that has really helped too. nothing major, just a few blocks to start with and now i do 1 mile twice a day. i think that for ME, it was very important to get moving and also to make a commitment to work out as well as eat right. i have slowed a bit in the past 2 weeks but i also note that i'm not walking the way i should be. now i've joined a gym so hopefully things will pick up even more. good luck!
  17. hi all, i have taken the tour, asked all the questions and i am ready to start at an entry level gym. i think PF is good for me as i learn to be comfortable in a gym, how to use the equipment, etc.. and the cost is right for me. BUT, i really want to become a lifter, which means that eventually i will want to graduate to a 'real' gym and i've read online a LOT of stuff about how PF gave people issues cancelling their memberships when they wanted to. i plan to just get the basic $10/mth option with no contract. anybody had big issues with them, problems, etc? i don't want to have to fight to end my membership down the road when i'm ready.
  18. Chele, you need those Fruit of the Loom bras they used to carry with + and - sizes (A+)!!! i wonder if they still make those, they were genius! as for me, my butt is GONE and boobs are on their way. i'm happy though, i want to be fit, taught, toned, and strong! i want muscle definition and a 6-pack and to look like the gals on the cover of Oxygen magazine. i have already seen a plastics guy and asked him how SMALL he could go to reduce, lift and reshape me! i'm pretty sure he had never heard that question before...
  19. i FOR SURE don't miss anybody asking me 'when are you due" (this was especially hurtful after 2 years of failed IVF treatments)... i don't miss looking down and seeing a large stomach that caused me physical and emotional distress all day i don't miss my thighs rubbing and chaffing i don't miss having to stop half way up stairs and sucking wind like crazy i don't miss my 3 chins i don't miss having to constantly buy bigger sizes i don't miss sneaking third and fourth portions of dinner after my hubs goes out to the barn for chores i don't miss not participating in games/activities with my kids i don't miss knowing that i would be dead in the next few years i don't miss paying hundreds of dollars for prescriptions every month SIMPLY due to being fat lastly, i don't miss ANYTHING about the former me. not one thing. i was fat, sick, depressed, sad and lonely. no more!
  20. i go in the other direction. mine have always been large and sagging. i LOOK FORWARD to having them significantly reduced and lifted! i actually asked my plastic surgeon how small he could go... i have been top heavy all my teenage and adult life and now that i'm losing weight i'm also weight training and strength training and i look forward to being seriously toned, fit, strong, and small enough chested to just throw on a tank top!
  21. not sure if you can do puree/softs on your program at this point, but it IS fall and that's a great time for chili! you could do a 'chili bar' include nacho chips, onions, cheese, jalapenos, sour cream, etc and allow everyone a mug to make their own little meal, you can have some of whatever your program allows! this allows you to still have some food at your event AND food that you can enjoy too! in my neck of the woods, this would be a saturday evening event, complete with an outdoor bonfire, hoodies, stories, marshmallows for the kids to roast, and some awesome fellowship!
  22. i hear ya! me too. i have always found the gals on the cover of Oxygen magazine way more awesome than the gals on the cover of Vogue. just my opinion, but to me, fit and STRONG is way more healthy looking. again, just my opinion! today i am joining a gym and i am 11 wks post surgery. i have been losing nicely but it's slowing a bit and i still have about 30 lbs to go until goal. i figure starting some training now will both tone and tighten and boost my metabolism to lose the final pounds.at that point i really want to start building. i wanted to just train at home but i realized i will never get to where i really want to be on my own.
  23. been there. i had many people tell me i could do it without srugery. yet the more i tried, the fatter i got. and the sicker i got. sleep apnea will help you get approved, and if you lose like you WILL, it will be cleared up and gone in no time! just look at this negative piece of news as a MOTIVATING factor for WHY you really need to do this! hang in there and post as you need to. best thing i EVER did. good luck!
  24. i started at 233, that was 11 weeks ago, now i'm at 187 and only 37 lbs from goal. it goes very fast. i would say WELL under a year, you will reach your goal. shakes- the only ones i like now are either
  25. yet another vote for Quest! they are the BOMB. like a candy bar for bariatrics! i love Cookies and Cream and the choc chip cookie dough are good too. they are an easy way to get in 20 grams of Protein and each bar has about 17 grams of fiber!
