  1. i got my first fill on the 15th and so far i can still eat anything in sight. i'm trying to be a good girl... i'm pretty much starving all the time though. =( i got 2.2cc... i'm not sure how long to wait before making my next appt.
  2. i just had my first fill on saturday and hope so much that it gets me back on track!!! it was soo weird - the fill. it didn't hurt but was the oddest sensation. are you nervous at all? congrats, btw!!! :clap2:
  3. i feel your pain! i could eat anything, so i did. i always had something in my mouth. i was so dissapointed in myself that i hid from this forum... i was ashamed! :cry i got my first fill and am excited to get back on track... it turned out that i only gained 4.5lbs from the time i went on solids to the day of my fill. i'm actually pretty happy that that is all i gained!:rolleyes i'm a little worried, to tell the truth though... i'm on 3 days liquids and can go back on solids tomorrow. i can drink with no issue (as my doc said i should be able to) but i am hungry almost all the time. growling belly is NOT FUN. :cry until you get your first fill, just try to take it easy - if you've ever done weight watchers, maybe try to stick to points. i know it's hard - i failed. GOOD LUCK!!! :clap2:
  4. after surgery to my first fill (which was yesterday) i gained 4.5lbs. :angry i'm hoping SO HARD that my fill gives me restriction. after i could eat solids again, i was starving all the time... exactly like i was before being banded. sometimes i would eat, and then cry because i was so frustrated... worried i made a mistake getting banded. i'm on liquids for 3 days, so i should have an idea by tuesday if this fill helped. eep! :phanvan
  5. woot! i hear ya sister shoe ho! i should post a pic of my tower of shoes sometime. my hubby says i have a sickness... i tell him he simply does not appreciate the art of a snazzy shoe. :heh:
  6. *waves* hello all! i know i have been MIA... after being banded and going back on "real food" i had ZERO restriction and i am ashamed to admit, i gorged. if i thought i "last mealed" it before... woo...! i never stopped eating. i gained about 10lbs back. i felt so bad about behaving like such a piggy that i couldn't face coming here. stupid, i know. :cry BUT i just got home right now from getting my first fill. i was actually more scared to get the fill then i was for the surgery. the fill was... unnerving! it didn't hurt but it wasn't comfortable either. :phanvan i will be a good girl now! i'm changing gyms to the one 2 miles from my house on monday so i have to drive by it every day, twice a day. :heh: well, i have 3 more days of liquids, then i should have restriction. they put in 2.2ccs. i'm keeping my fingers crossed. hope everyone is doing well!!!
  7. oh wow! i have that too! well, mine is numb and itchy at the same time. i go to scratch, but it's like it itches under the skin. my mom said it's just the healing process. it's getting fainter and fainter as time goes on...

  13. today, my bandster friends, i can eat REAL FOOD. for breakfast i had a hardboiled egg. i've read that some people have problems with scrambled eggs, and i prefer hard boiled anyhow, so i gave it a go. and YUM! i chewed it to mush (not that that is too difficult) and took lil bites. of course now i'm thirsty from the salt, but no water! next meal, lunch. can't wait!!! :clap2: :hungry: :clap2: :hungry: :clap2: edit for P.S. if i ever see soup again, it wil be TOO SOON!!!
  14. awww! boo boo kitty!!! i love that face! that has to make you just smile so big when you come home and see that!!!
  15. oh, you aren't joking!!! i feel like such a meanie for telling him to go lay down when we're eating. he sighs, looks at us with THOSE EYES, walks a couple of steps, looks back, sighs again. ARGH! it just kills me! he has us wrapped around his lil paws... wait until he gets a sister. girl pugs are DIVAS. that should be fun! oh, and thanks!!! we certainly think he's perfect... a little on the naughty side, but he is just a baby still. LOL!

  21. LOL! i've been saying that for YEARS! :girl_hug:
  22. LOL! if you would have told me before quincy that i wouldn't get mad at being woken up in the morning by having a dog sneeze in my face, i would never have believed you. the things we put up with out of love... in fact, it makes me giggle. pug snot! yuck! but he's just loving on me. LOL.
  23. my new favorite quote is "Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole." ~ Roger Caras. before my furbaby, i didn't know how much joy i could experience having slobbery toys dropped on my lap. LOL. :dog:
  24. i got banded in mexico by dr. ortiz. i have no complaints. the one thing to seriously consider is aftercare. i'll be honest, i didn't give it much thought... but every so often i wish i could go get a check up just to make sure everything is going according to schedule. it's almost like being thrown to the wolves when you don't have a doctor nearby handy. "here's your band. see ya." now don't get me wrong, the clinic was gorgeous, the hotel beautiful, the staff considerate and friendly. absolutely no complaints there. i also happen to live in NV (LV) so i can just drive down to san diego or fly down for a small amount of money so fills won't be much of an issue. of course if you don't live in denver, it would kind of be the same situation. but if you get banded in denver, most doctors WILL fill other banded patients by US doctors, but that isn't typically the case with mx doctors. if you are seriously considering mx, research research research! go with experience over price if possible... ortiz did write a book on lapband and proctured many US surgeons. experience is key! good luck!!!!!!
