  1. Oh I know it wasn't. I think it was to the person you were referring to. And it is hard to believe that once life ends it ends. I mean there has to be something after, right? And I know we have the same respect for each other because the concept of no God sounds silly to me :crying: As for the resident closed minded bigot...I had to block that one or risk saying some really awful things. And boy is it peaceful.
  2. Oh and Wasa that really wasn't directed toward you, yours was just to most recent post addressing the issue and I was too lazy to go back a page lol.
  3. I don't know if I qualify as "highly educated" but I do have a collage degree and was near the top of my class. I am also a Christian who believes in the big bang theory. Because when God said let there be light, who is to say that was not the light? Then again who is to say it was? My belief in God is what helps me get through the day sometimes and if handing my worries and fears off to someone "fictional" makes me feel relief and peace in my life then that is good enough for me. As for my prayers, they are alway answered. Sometimes it is just not the answer that I want. Praying for me is having a conversation with God. I know it does not change the outcome, but again, it makes me feel good when I lay down in bed at night. My goal and purpose in life is to be the best person that I can be and not worry about what everyone else is doing. Believe, don't believe. My job is not to convince anyone else that God is real.
  4. I was raised Roman Catholic as well. I like to refer to myself as a recovering Catholic. I am a Christian and I do believe but I also believe that spirituality should not be confused by the rules and regulations of religion. As for the debate, there is a certain person around here who manages to turn every single thread she posts on into a religious debate. She is hateful and spiteful and is one of those people who gives Christians a bad name. Really I don't mind the debate but I would mind her coming in and taking over the thread.
  5. PJTP I am wide awake from one of those bad dreams that are so realistic that you don't realize you are sleeping until you wake up freaked out with your heart pounding out of your chest. So bad I could not even get back to sleep.
  6. Thanks everyone for participating in this. I think there is some awesome stuff to work with. If any of these things are discussed during serviced I will be sure to let everyone know.
  7. Wasa if you have a huge list of questions I would love to hear more.
  8. In June my church is doing a series where the members get to ask questions the the pastor, and he will be answering them during service. I know there are many non believers around here that make some interesting points when debating religion and I was just wondering if anyone would be willing to list them here so I could submit them. For example one statement I remember reading on LBT was along the lines of why bother praying when God already has his plan-it's not like you can change it. That is certainly something that I would be very interested in hearing an answer to. Anyhow I know there are some very intelligent people aruond here and I would totally be interested in hearing what you had to say. And no I am not looking to take anykind of credit for any questions as it is an anonymous thing. Again, I am NOT looking for any kind of debate (you know who you are and I have you blocked anyhow) on this thread. I guess I am just trying to look at why people don't believe in a higher power.
  9. And PJTP to see my ticker that has been actually moving in the correct direction the last 3 weeks.
  10. Ebony and Beth...see now I can stop my complaining about the weather since it is finally getting warmer around here. Personally I think 70 is about the perfect temperature in Michigan but you know there are only maybe 5 days of the year that there is beautiful weather. And not that it is extremely relevant or anything but I live downriver.
  11. Got out and did 10 miles yesterday. I am amazed at the difference in speed when on the road compared to the bike path. On the path I usually average about 12.5mph. On the road it can be anywhere between 16-18mph.
  12. Block pg! Block pg! Block pg! Block pg!
  13. If everyone blocks PG she will have no one else to spew her hate onto. I am just saying it has been wonderful for me....
  14. It's gonna take more than swine flu to keep me off the internet.
  15. I have to agree to this to some degree. My girlfriends would use this to their advantage to be the center of attention at the bar or at parties. All of them had made out with each other at some point. It always had and still does gross me out. Do I consider them gay? No. But definitely doing it for attention.
  16. I learned it as dessert has the double s which stands for sweet stuff. =) And you are all a bunch of Loosers.

It's the end of the world as we know it....and I feel swine.
  18. Pancake ride....except I am not allowed to eat the pancakes =(
  19. My friend just called me and said she was considering not taking her daughter to the dance studio for pictures today because of the flu. Then yelled at me for saying she was overreacting. Ummmm, she is not shopping at the stores until late at night and wanted to go buy some masks today. She is refusing to go to church because that is too many people in a small space. And wants to skip pictures because of the swine flu that has infected 2 people in our whole entire state? LOL
  20. And congrats to you Green!!!!!!!
  21. So the school district my children's school is in is closed for the next two days for a suspected case of swine flu. But my kids ahve school since it is a charter school and not actually part of that district. And I just realized my coworker was in Mexico a few weeks ago for vacation lol. And I am still not freaked out. Right now the flu to me is equivelent of a week or so of pain to drop 10 pounds quick. Is that a bad attitude to have?
  22. Maybe PG was born gay and now she is all bitter from choosing to be straight. Or just born bitter.
  23. My best friend is so freaked out about swine flu. I mean she is prone to a touch hypocondrism anyhow and now she is driving me mad. Finally last night I told her it was going to be the end of humanity. Poor girl nearly had a panic attack at the store when someone sneezed near her. It's funny but it's not. And maybe it is because I am not a germaphobe that I really just don't care? I am considering putting together a swine flu care package for her complete with masks and gloves and maybe some Spam. Just because I love the girl but have to be snarky about it.
