Someone tell me to toughen up!!
Optifast before my surgery was the worst two weeks of my entire life. On the other hand I did lose 15 pounds. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Optisource Vitamins
I have adult chewables from GNC called Chewable Solotron. They also have iron in them so you don't need a seperate iron supplement. Pretty tasty too!

Smoker's please help
Seeing as I am not a smoker so I don't really know for sure, but doesn't the patch have nicotine in it? Thus if you use it you will still have nicotine in your system. My doctor said 8 weeks without smoking before surgery to get the nicotine out. You can do it. I know it is hard, I can only imagine it is just as bad as the food addiction we all suffer with. Chantix has worked wonders for many people I work with. It may a bit expensive (around $90 I believe) but in the long run is so much cheaper than paying for cigarettes. Good luck! ****EDIT**** Okay my doc said that you need to go two months without smoking but I just found out that the nicotine is actually gone within 48-72 hours which is why after a few days you really start craving. And yes the patch will put nictine in your system. You really should consider quitting though.

Feb 07 Bandsters: May Challenge
I am definitely up for monthly challenges....keeps me on my toes. The word on the fill is that it has been done. I had a bit of an emotional breakdown in my nurses office this morning. I think it is PMS she thinks it is mild depression. We both could be right. The Dr. said that I should be losing faster at this point. I fessed up to the double cheeseburger and he increased me from 2.25cc to 2.75cc. Whoa buddy do I notice a difference already! All I have had was about 1/2c of sf pudding and I am stuffed. Is this what true restriction feels like? I cannot believe it is almost June. I really have to get my butt out on my bike if I am going to ride to work this summer. 12 miles there and 12 miles home I figure I can do easy peasy after a bit of training. I am more worried about my legs than my lungs that's for sure. Plus my co-workers are kind of teasing me about it, not in bad way but just joking that if I make it there I better have a ride home lined up. So now I have to do it even if just to prove them wrong. My legs are sore as heck from I don't know what this weekend. Yardwork, mowing the lawn maybe? I wish I could say it was from sex because at least that is more interesting than pain from mowing a darn lawn. My 3 mile walk was a bit on the slower side today because of it and my running is going to wait until tomorrow. I don't want to overdo it, plus I am going to the track with my 5K buddy which freaks me out just a bit. I have been running out on the treadmill until now and running in public scares me. But hey we can do anything right? Hope everyone is having a great day. 10 more days until the end of the month so anything goes now. Two 30 minute workouts in one day counts as two workouts. I want everyone to make the exercise goal with me.

Suzanne you are so awesome!!!!!!! I am so proud of you for finishing that race. I am sure when I do my 5K I am going to end up dead last (or next to last as my running partner and I are not sure which one will go ahead of the other lol) but I am just excited to do it. It gives me something to look forward to and get ready for. I have enver finished something I have started in my life and I know I am going to do this and I can't wait until I get the amazing feeling of acomplishing something I set out to do. Tomorrow is going to be an interesting running day. Week three training is going to be two repetitions of running 90 seconds, walking 90 seconds, running 3 minutes, walking 3 minutes. I have never run 3 minutes straight in my adult life so I am a little intimidated, that's for sure. As for the fill I am going to get it. I went to a graduation party yesterday and though I ate less than I used to I know I ate too much. My son's birthday party is today so I am going to enjoy the food and cake and know that tomorrow it is all going to change again. I will also be checking out my wieght tomorrow. My coworkers had an intervention for me because of my daily wieghing in habit lol. I don't have a scale at home just for that reason but I am contantly on the scale at work. I am only allowed to wiegh on Mondays now and let me tell you that will be harder for me than dieting.

To fill or not to fill....

To fill or not to fill....
So I am having a dilemma about getting filled. I have some restriction, I really do. I still get food stuck sometimes but I don't know if it is due to my restriction or due to me taking too large of a bite. But I can eat way too much on occasions. Like when I was upset about my plateau and took out my frustrations on a double cheeseburger from Mcdonalds (with bun). If I can eat a whole burger then I should need a fill right? I know I am eating way less than I was before. But I feel like I can eat too much still. I don't know if I really do need this fill but I am too scared that it will cause me to have to give up things I have been able to eat (bread, chicken, etc) or if I am just one of those people who is able to eat anything. Any advice from some veteran bandster would be fabulous!

Feb 07 Bandsters: May Challenge
Hey ladies how is everyone holding up. I did some massive amounts of yard work yesterday so now I am super sore. I am going to reek of icy hot for the rest of the day! cz? diamond? white topaz?
I don't care as long as it looks cute! My diamond fell out of my engagment ring and since we do not have the money to waste on another diamond DH bought me a beautiful 2.5 carat princess cut Diamonique ring from QVC. I absolutly love it and everyone that sees it thinks it looks real. I couldn't care less about the price or whether it is real or not. I would rather spend my money on something useful, not something I look at.

Someone please tell me I won't be sore like this every time!
You won't be sore like this every time! Icy hot work wonders until your muscles get used to the exercising.

Okay the kitty litter cake is soooo easy to make and it is a hit with the kids. I just made it for my son's birthday this weekend. And so inexpensive to make also. I got the NEW litter box and NEW scoop from the dollar store. I cannot wait to make it to take into work. My co-workers are going to love it.

I am having a melt down!
Call and bother them about it every single day. Even if you have to wait a month for the leter at least you will have the satisfaction of annoying the sh*t out of them.

Telemarketers!
Once when my aunt was staying with us she picked up the phone and pretended to be a lonely old lady whose husband had just died and needed someone to talk to. She kept the person on the phone for about 10 minutes while the rest of us were dying of laughter.

To Spank or not to Spank
Let me tell you my son is lucky he did not get spanked at the grocery store last night lol. I don't think my patience has ever been tested as much as it was last night. I spent my 25 minutes in line (with only 3 people in front of me mind you) rubbing my ears and saying woosaaa trying to calm down.

abortion
Okay while reading through this thread I have been wondering about opinions on something. For those who are pro choice- If a woman is 6 months pregnant and someone were to beat her and cause a miscarriage would you consider that murder? I am pro choice but I struggle with this because I know if I were that pregnant woman in the situation I would feel as if my child was murdered. Yet if there is no life until birth then how could a murder take place. It almost makes me feel like a bit of a hypocrite in a way. Does it make a difference because that baby was "wanted" and an aborted baby is "unwanted"?

Anyone Quit Smoking after Lap Band?
I have heard a lot of good things about Chantix. My workplace is going smokefree July 1st and were giving out coupns for it to employees. Many people I know say it has been so easy for them with it.

Yeah well it was also right before my bariatric support group last night lol. I fessed up and told them all at which point my nurse said she was making me an appointment on Monday. I am just so stressed out with this damned plateau. Since I started counting calories and working out everyday usually twice I have lost zilch. Finally I said screw it and ate the burger. Ugh. Tatertots get stuck for me. Every single time. You would think I would learn but nope I always try one. Go figure, I can eat a while double cheeseburger and get stuck on one effing tater tot. But hey I have to stay positive here so I did manage to run for 90 seconds straight this week lol. Hubby had to force me on the treadmill last night because of my bad day but I am glad that he did. He also did not get himself any icecream last night when his dad sent him out to get him some (he lives with us) because he did not want to eat it in front of me. I thought that was really sweet.

People Magazine - 1/2 Their Size Issues
I was just going to say that Susan. I don't care if people think it is a gimmick and think it is better to do it the "old fashioned" way. At least in 5 years I will still be thin while 98% have gained back all their weight.

Questions for Cpap users
I hate to say it but you might never get off of it. My mother and 3 of my aunts all have sleep apnea. While my mother may be over weight she is not really more than 30 or 40 pounds over what she should be. One of my aunts is very fit, walks daily, and still she has her CPAP. Just want to put it out there that there could be a possibilty that you have to stay on it even if you do lose.

Bad bad day yesterday. I ate an entire double cheeseburger...including bun. Sigh. Guess it is time for a fill.

The Weight Loss Cure "They" Don?t Want You to Know About
Oh I definitly agree with you there. But $1200 just seems so incredibly low that I would think that is a massive bulk purchase.
