  1. I was told by me surgeon that chewing gum will put additional air and gas in your stomach. I am 4 weeks post op and do not know when I will be allow to chew gum. I am going to ask again on my next visit.
  2. If anyone is interested in ordering Pampered Chef products, I am having an online party. There are several products that are useful post-op, and can be shipped to any address. I am ordering the small prep bowls and the mix and chop, to help with my food prep. My party closes on Monday February 21st. If you would like to place an order the website is: http://www.pamperedchef.biz/sandrak?showId=2978486 then click shop online. Thank You!
  3. I am currently taking Bariatric Advantage chewable Vitamins, that I bought at my Dr's office. I take 2 a day. The berry taste is starting to get old and I hate taking them. Does anyone else know of a "High Potenancy" gummy chewable that is a high quality like bariatric advantage? Thanks for your help!
  4. Good Luck and prayers tomorrow. Let us know how you are doing when you are able.
  5. I am 2 weeks post op today and feeling better each day. Then it hit, I started my period and I feel terrible. I have cramps worse then I had back in my teens and very heavy bleeding with lots of clots. I am wondering if this is due to the stress my body has been under due to surgery or maybe the blood clotting shot I received in the hospital. Has anybody else had this happen right after surgery and does it continue for the next few cycles?
  6. Good Luck and God Bless You, I will be praying for you!
  7. Did anyone else get an ugly bruise from the blood thinning shot in the stomach? I only got one right before surgery, and I am 1 week post op and it looks horrible. How long does it take to go away???
  8. Hi Seniorsleever, I am glad you are doing better. I was sleeved on the 25th and my IV infiltrated also, but only once. My arm that had the infiltration is more sore than my stomach at this point. It is bruised and still has a couple of small knots in it. Does yours still hurt? I have been putting ice on it but it doesn't seem to help.
  9. Good Luck and Congratulations!
  10. How long did you use your spirometer(lung air capacity device) after released from the hospital? The hospital just said to continue at home, but I didn't ask how long.
  11. I had my surgery on 1/25, and I have 5 incisions and had two IV sites. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!
  12. I had my surgery on the 25th also, and I am feeling a lot of gurgling and gas pains too. Some of it feels almost like hunger pains. I started my PPI yesterday, not sure how long that takes to kick in. I am glad you are doing better.
  13. Tabitha, glad you are doing good after your surgery. I am on clear liquids until I see my surgeon again which is 10 days.
  14. I am at Home Sweet Home. I was sleeved on Tuesday, 1/25. For the most part went pretty well. Had a few dry heeves in recovery, then when advanced to liquids didn't have any problems. I am currently mainly sore in my ab muscles to get up from sitting and laying, but I have no problem walking. Also, my stomach seems to be constantly gurgling and bubbling and there may be some hunger pains too, can't really tell. I started on prilosec today. I also do a lot of burping. Does all of this seem normal for being sleeved for 2 days now?
  15. Thank you all for the prayers, thank you Lord for bringing me through this. The 1st 24 hours have been rough but are getting better hour by hour.
  16. Please pray for me this morning my surgery is scheduled for 9 am CT. I am on my way to the loosers bench!!
  17. Good Luck. I have my surgery on Tuesday @ 9 AM. When is your actual surgery?
  18. I am getting sleeved in 7 days and I am a Catholic. Does anyone know about taking communion after surgery? I was wondering if I can still take it and chew it up real good and swallow it, how long do I have to wait to take communion? Thanks for giving me any experiences you may have on this.
  19. I have 12 more days of my pre-op diet until my VSG surgery on 1/25/11, I am so hungry. But I can do this!
  20. Thanks for the information all4me. Did you have your surgery at Foundations surgical hospital? My surgery is set for January 25th. I am excited and nervous. Did you have to do the 2 week pre-op diet? I appreciate any additional information you can give me about the surgery or process. I hope you are doing well and are having speedy recovery.
  21. My surgery is scheduled for January 25th. My Doctor is Dr. John J. Gonzalez in San Antonio Texas. I am really glad I found this forum to get some insights from the experienced sleevers. I look forward to seeing everyone's success stories from the January group.
