Hi my fellow Jewels! My surgery was changed from June13 to June 20th... I was a little disappointed, but got over it really quick! This gives me an extra week to get my mind right and now I can have BBQ with my family for Memorial day instead of starting my preop diet! I am just so glad I am still a Jewel! Melissa

Hello all my fellow Jewels, I am scheduled for June13th. I am wondering if I am the only one, but ALL of my excitement and positive attitude has turned to shear FEAR. My sleeping has been inturrupted and every extra minute is used thinking of all the bad things that can happen. I end up having this feeling of anxiety and got a little teary eyed when a fellow co worker offered support . I am the mother of 3 children and the thought of something happening to me scares me to death!. Please send some prayers for me that I find peace with my decision.... or a couple of valiums would do great also ! Hope everyone is doing well! Melissa

You're having surgery on a Saturday?

I know you are so ready for your surgery, but is it truly worth risking your health and life to have a surgery that can be postponed until you are healthy? You dont want to risk getting pnemonia or pulmonary edema ect.....The surgery is going to be a stressor on your body as it is dont walk into it already ill. Good luck and hope you feel better, maybe its the nurse in me wanting you well before surgery! Mel

I am surprised your Dr. didnt consider doing the sleeve or bypass because of the amount of weight you have to lose. I am going to be sleeved next month, I switched from considering the lap band. Good luck with your journey, and may you lose with whatever you decide. Mel

Hi!! I am scheduled June 13th also. I have not started to diet, hell thats what the 2week pre op is for! I am not binging though, just eating as I normally do. Good luck and we will soon be twins...lol Mel

My fear is dying without being done raising my children! My mother was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 49. My father had a heart attack at age 47. I am 40 and have high cholesterol and HTN. Being obese is not an option for me! My family history tells me that I will surely die young if I dont lose the weight. I understand your fear. I am also afraid of having complications or dying during the procedure. I fear 5 years from now watching one of those commercials calling all VSG patients for some freaking law suit because they have found something wrong with having the procedure . I pray to God that I will be safe in his arms through all this and can finally be the wife, mother, and person Im suppossed to be! By the way a size 12 wouldnt be so shabbyeither Melissa

Do you work out anywhere near sugarland? I live near there..maybe we can be sleeve buddies!! The support would be great

Well I say thank you for them. I am always glad when I hear someone say positive things about the place where I work! I have not heard of him, but I have only been researching for 2 months. I know of an Eric Wilson that works there. I hope you are feeling better and keep us posted on your progress. I am scheduled to be sleeved on June 13th with Dr's Yu and Scarborough with TLC surgery.
