  2. No pressure here. My doctor only does LapBand now.
  3. I was going to ask about fat too. You might not be eating enough. First sign is dry skin. rumar - very inspirational post. The band has changed my life drastically already.
  4. I'm going shopping this weekend for something to wear to my X-Mas party next weekend. I haven't seen anyone from work since my surgery (I work from home in a different state) so I really want to WOW them. I hope I can find something that I'm happy with. They all know I got the band and ask me all the time how much I've lost. I'm feeling pressure to look good - ugh! I hate attention! I think I'm going to look for one of those Spandx/Shaper things too. Try and hide some of the lumps - lol.
  5. What about side boob fat? lol. That's my big problem - it's like I have an extra boob under each arm pit! ewwwwww! Boob job is going to be my first PS!
  6. Anyone know what time Oprah is on?
  7. I wonder why your doctor is giving out that "500cc" information. Why does it matter how many cc's before "the band explodes"? What does that even mean? - lol If you search AP or Advanced Platform you'll find many threads on the AP Bands. You may even want to print out some info to bring to your doctor - lol.
  8. eggs can be hard for SOME people. Doesn't matter what way they are cooked. <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comOranges </st1:City>and any fibrous fruits/veggies are hard for MOST. (pineapple, asparagus, celery, etc ...)
  9. My first question is also ... How many calories are you eating? Maybe it's not enough. Breakfast is important. I would limit those frozen meals. They're usually high in carbs and sodium. I think eating a well balanced diet, made up of quality foods, is very important now more than ever. We can only eat such a small amount of food.
  10. Let me know how it goes, Gwen. My first and only fill so far was 2cc's as well. It didn't do a thing for me.
  11. I say NO because of this: and this:
  12. I just ordered the Biggest Loser DVD's on ebay. Now that the weather has changed, it's too cold to walk very far with my dog. I haven't gotten up the motivation to join a gym. Shopping for a treadmill has overwhelmed me - it's such an investment and I just can't settle on one. I haven't been working out regularly for over a month and my weight loss has started to slow because of it. Thanks for this thread. I hope the DVD's work for me ...
  13. APS holds 10cc's APL holds 14cc's Depending on which band you have - there's still plenty of room for more fill. Everyone is different. Maybe the next one will get you there?
  14. Gometros - I'm currently shopping for a treadmill. It's an overwhelming task! I also just ordered the Biggest Loser DVD's on ebay.
  15. Whoa!! That's so cool. I want pictures of my insides - lol!
  16. My Pulmanary doc ordered the sleep study. The sleep center then sent the results to her and she forwarded them on to my surgeon with a letter of clearance for surgery. (She also had me get a chest x-ray and do some breathing exercises on a machine.)
  17. Yup! Some docs have been using it for like a year now but it seems most started around spring time. I have the APS
  18. Val - When you reply to a post, scroll all the way down. Click the box for 'Manage Attachments' you can upload them from your PC or a web site.
  19. My surgery was in August and my burps are still loud, long, and frequent. - lol! My doctor says I am swallowing too much air when eating and drinking. How do you change that??
  20. Oh Carol! I am so sorry to hear things didn't work out. I hope you continue to post here. Please keep your options open and most importantly, do what is best for YOU!!
  21. No. I haven't been to any of the Support Groups. I'm not sure why, I just don't feel like going -lol. That sounds so bad but it's honest. _______________ I'm not familiar with that insurance, sorry. Your BMI is 34.8 It all depends on your specific policy. Do you have any co-morbities? I think most want to see at least 2 for a low BMI. Call your insurance co.
  22. UPDATE: Candle................238....................231 .............223..................8
  23. I didn't know that about the J & J Band. Thanks
  24. I retract my question. In thinking more about it, DRY MOUTH can be a side effect of a lot of meds actually.
