6 months today since my life changed
I can't believe that it has been 6 months since my surgery, I have lost 95 pounds since the day of surgery (who would have thought that was possible). Sometimes I look at myself or do something that I couldn't do 6 months ago and I'm so amazed. I've never been this happy in my life. I feel like I'm living life for the first time instead of just existing. I've gone from a size 26/28 all over to a 18 top and 20 bottom, I sometimes look at my clothes and can't believe that I can fit into them. I love to walk and exercise now and that is something i never really liked before, lol. To say that this has been an easy 6 months would be a total and complete untruth..........this has been one of the hardest things that I've ever done in my life but i would do it again in a heart beat. It has been an adjustment for me, I still can't drink plain Water or eat ice but I'm too cold most of the time to really miss eating ice lol. Oh yes and i do miss my insulation, I'm freezing all the time. I now dress in layers everyday because I'm so cold. There are days when i get discouraged or I feel like I can't make it but then I look at how far I've already come and I can't wait to see where I'll be in another 6 months. I also need to give a big THANK YOU to my sisters who also had surgery ( 1 is a year out and the other is almost 7 months out) for all of their love and support. I really wouldn't have been able to make it without them. We are in this together and I will always be thankful that we decided to take the journey together. The gray shirt was the morning of surgery I weighed 344lbs and the red shirt was this morning and I now weigh 249lbs. I LOVE MY SLEEVE WITH AL MY HEART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I STILL SEE MYSELF AS FAT
I think it takes our minds longer to catch up with what is happening to our bodies, we lose so much weight so fast. I've lost almost 100 pounds and I see myself the same way I was before the weight loss.

Taste and Smell Sensitivity?
I'm almost 6 months post op and my senses are just getting back to normal. I think it has somethin to with the anesthesia as well and them removing part of our stomachs. I still can't stand the smell of the some things and I can't drink plain water

African American Sleevers
I was sleeved on Sept 2, 2011 and i lost about 40 pounds in 3 weeks and then I stalled for almost a month. I think most people have a stall around this time, its probably because our bodies have to catch up with what's going on. Don't stress about it, keep doing what you're doing and the scale will move. Congratulations on your weight lost so far and keep up the good work.

Losing with sleeve more difficult with PCOS?
I was diagnosed with PCOS about 8 years ago and I was sleeved 4 months ago. I have lost 73 pounds since surgery, so I would say that for me personally having PCOS has not interfered in my weightloss at all. I did have a stall about 3 weeks after surgery which lasted about 3 weeks but I think that's pretty normal. So just be patient and the weight come off trust me.

I really just take it one day at a time. Everyday is different, some days I can get all my fluids in and some days I can't, some days I get all my Protein some days I don't lol. What I don't do is I don't beat myself up about it, I feel everyday is a new start for me
