Great backup data for 5:2 or AF. Conclusion The use of intermittent fasting offers the potential to improve weight loss and enhance the cardiovascular health of overweight and obese individuals with type 2 diabetes and reduces cardiovascular risk. This type of intervention is cost-effective and associated with a low risk of adverse events.- The 5:2 diet
I AM DOING THURSDAY! Half day gone and my bowl of oats eaten at 11am. Not even remotely hungry. So weird. Mind over matter, I guess. Look at you, Laura! I would love to ride the toboggan thingy. I think. Enjoy CO.- How many vets are actually AT goal and staying there?
Oh, this is SOOO me! I dont HAVE to have bread - yes, the occasion biscuit in the morning or "pigs in a blanket" yep! And I love toast, though, i don't rarely indulge. But what derailed me this past winter was the sweet sliders! I could and did down a bag of little white powdered donuts with no problem and Hersheys kisses, well, let's just say it wasn't pretty! I realized then there was still that little addict inside of me waiting to be unleashed! So, now, I MIGHT indulge in the rare sweet at a social event but not a habit and not frequently. I just have to abstain because one is NEVER going to be enough. I read Dr. Oz who and i quote, "Indulge yourself! Now if I want a piece of cake or pie, I cut me a slice and have one big bite and relish the taste of it. Then walk away!" YEAH, RIGHT! Raise your hand if after that bite, you could WALK AWAY! I thought so. No hands raised! lol- How many vets are actually AT goal and staying there?
Read the blog and can relate. I TELL myself I will only do moderation but this only works with things I dont ABSOLUTELY LOVE and thus, it's abstainence! Ha!- The 5:2 diet
FYE, I also just noticed your Surgeons Name!!!! Who could go wrong with a name like that!!!! lol- Vets: Calling all consistent loggers on MFP!

OregonDaisy, do you have a user name on MFP?- How many vets are actually AT goal and staying there?
I think you hit the nail on the head, FYE! Once the initial, "oohs and aahs" are over from friends/family and the real life begins we former "fatties" tend to forget that we did this to build a BETTER, HEALTHIER life! Beginning to THINK normally may never happen completely since we spent so many years using food as our friend, enemy, counselor, partner in crime, and whatever else you allowed it to be! And i heard someone yesterday - totally different venue, never been large - say, " Even though I was a size six now and was a size eight, NOW size two is where I WANT to be! Yep! Never settling can be good and it can become our worst enemy. As FYE said, we have to find ways to build a new life around things other than food. At the very "mature" age of 59 1/2, that can be easier said than done but the Georgia I am today sure wants to go and do and live and love and enjoy life to the fullest!- The 5:2 diet
I know the feeling! Something about vacation justs turns on my tastebuds!! lol Just enjoy and eat reasonably. You'll set yourself up for disaster, otherwise!- How many vets are actually AT goal and staying there?

Okay, BIG NSV and on a Fast day! Have you ever fed 50 people big, fat meatball laden with sauce and Parmesan cheese on an empty stomach? Well, I HAVE, lol. My month to feed the homeless shelter for my life group and luckily, didn't have time to even sniff them! And we ran out so there were no leftovers! (All got fed- seconds were given out). Yaay, to me! Now, where is my Lean Cuisine? And then I still have about another 150 left over to eat in a hurry since it is 7pm!- Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?

I just thought, "This really will be a way of life!" Not even thinking about the fact that I am only having 500 cals today. Amazing!!! I'm loving the 5:2 lifestyle so far- Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?
Happy vacay to Laura and Coops! Jealous.- The 5:2 diet
One thing I've noticed here from all trying 5:2. When you do a shake or yogurt Oma NORMAL day (prior tostarting5:2) did it hold you for the allotted time between meals? It wouldn't me. I don't really get hungry between meals on on the fast days but I eat either oatmeal or eggs for breakfast then usually a string cheese around noon then a good dinner. Yes, I know the high Protein level in Greek yogurt is supposed to help with hunger but it really doesn't for me. Just a thought if you find yourself getting hungry. To have shakes, yogurt, etc. all day would NEVER enable me to long term handle it and we are trying to establish long term lifestyles I think. At least I am. Just a thought. And Laura and Coops, happy vacay!!!!!- How many vets are actually AT goal and staying there?
You know I used to HATE those people Who would say, "Oh, I KNOW. I need to lose 10 pounds too!" I'd think, "WHAT!" I could lose ten pounds in my sleep! Lol. Now I AM that person. And let me tell you, I now can testify to the fact that the last ten pounds is a killer. And I've lost them before easily but now my body has adjusted and LIKES where it is! But it's slowly coming off again. And I agree! Maintain, maintain, maintain. It sure beats the alternative! Happy for my size now just want to be AT GOAL again.- The 5:2 diet

And down another pound! I think being vigilant about logging has really opened my eyes to "bites" and junk too. fYE, on the aging part, "Hallelujah!" I'll take anything I can get at this point! Lol. And I'm not and ever will be one of those who get a high from exercise !- Sleeved Twice - My Story
Wow! I'm kinda speechless about this. HOW, How, could they leave too much stomach if they used the boogie. Something isn't right in the clinic. Glad you fought for yourself. Good luck and I'm sure you aw going to be at goal SOON!- The 5:2 diet
