  1. i know this sounds superficial and its not directly linked to surgery and i dont want to set myself up for disappointment, but i want to be in love again
  2. 1-shopping in regular stores 2-wearing heels again....can somebody say Christian Louboutin 3-walking and not worrying about my feet, back, or knees hurting 4-getting on a plane without anxiety 5-being even more gorgeous than i am lol
  3. i too REALLY hate vomiting...so i am curious as to how this will go lol
  4. My asst brought red velvet cupcakes for me (my favorite) because it was my last day of eating at work(provided all goes as planned). I start my liquid diet on Monday. As soon as she brought them to me, i started bawling....i think the reality hit me like a ton of bricks....i know i should focus on the big picture, and i am determined to do this. But i dont think i realized how much i love food and how much i am going to miss it. I am dreading the next 4-6 weeks. I was literally on the verge of tears all day and I have a lump in my throat as I write this....I had the same feeling last nite at the bar with friends....like is my life of fun and carefree living over....can i enjoy partying without drinking, eating etc is this healthy????
  5. is this because of the sheer mechanics of the sleeve, or just strict adherence to the diet?
  6. i am not hiding it from her...just haven't seen her in the time frame since i have been prepping for the surgery...best believe if they need records from her i will be contacting her lol
  7. i have been doing everything at my job...my blood work, all pre-op testing, the nutritionist, psych eval everything...i am not hiding it from her...just wondering if i should notify her lol or if I have to
  8. today i went to GNC to get my protein shakes and i got to talking to the sales guy. And i told him I was having weight loss surgery....he told me down the line to try Strivectin to tighten my skin....anyone here tried it?
  9. sounds good...i remember a few years ago when i was considering the bypass she wasnt thrilled but she wasnt totally anti...and she recommended a doctor at that time....so I guess i will tell her after
  10. So i am doing my surgery at my job....my 6 mos medically supervised test and all pre-op testing have been done at my job...so today asks me "Did Dr A (our family pcp) approve your surgery?" and it just dawned on me she doesn't even know ....do i have to tell her...and did u all tell ur PCP...and at what point...before, during or after?
  11. I know it sucks and sounds cliche...but everything happens for a reason I suppose. My 2 week liquid diet starts Monday....i am gonna try hard as heck to stick it out...
  12. Now my surgery date is 4/11. So i start my liquid diet Monday. Reality is hitting. Still waiting for the word from the insurance company.
  13. Thanks everyone...i guess i am just obsessing over everything and anything that can go wrong. Will keep u guys posted
  14. So my scheduled date is 4/25. I have GHI/Empire BCBS I am actually having the surgery where I work. So i called the finance person today, and she told me she submitted the paperwork, just waiting to hear back from them. I have been doing the 6 months medically supervised visits, have done most of my pre-op testing. And it dawned on me...what if they deny me. I know my mom would be ecstatic b/c she doesn't want me to do it. But I have been mentally psyching myself up to do this and i am READY. I am 33 y/o, starting weight of 343lbs now at about 318lbs, I have GERD, moderate to high cholesterol and joint pain, but no serious medical complications ( diabetes, etc) What is the likelihood that I can be denied. HELPPPPPPPP
  15. i too am a partyer...but i have resolved not todrink for at least 3 mos....if not longer.....it'll be hard...but i will pretend i am pregnant if i have to lol...at least that's what I say now.....i am actually hosting a party 3 weeks post op and dreading doing so sober....what an experience this will be
  16. Chobani is my fave....i stick to the peach my ultimate favorite and the strawberry
  17. i am on month 6 of a supervised diet...i have actually lost about 25-30 lbs...it fluctuates...because i am actually in the nervous phase where i want to eat everything because i fear i wont be able to eat it again lol but i asked the doc and she said that the insurance company is basically looking for the commitment...they wont cancel because u lose too much or too little.
  18. i haven't done it yet, but on a smaller scale (pardon the pun lol) i compare it to my tongue ring....i HATED it for the first few weeks cuz i had to get used to it, couldnt eat etc....but now almost 8 or so years later, i love it. I think it is truly a learning process....one of the big questions i have been asking everyone i know who has had WLS is "Do u regret it" and even those who had minor complications have all said no. Keep ur head up and PRAY
  19. I totally get what you are saying...my bff said to me she sees how it can be a lil depressing, because you will see how shallow the world really is i think my other concern is that i am this"hot fat chick" but will i now just be average????
  20. Scheduled for April 25th with Dr Parikh at Bellevue in NYC. I started at 343 prior to my 6 month supervised weight loss...i have lost about 25-30lbs....been going back and forth. I am excited, and extremely nervous. But i am ready....my liquid diet starts April 11th
  21. i am definitely concerned about this as well...I think my fear is either drinking or shopping....but I try not to worry about it. I think that if you know that you have an addictive personality therapy is definitely the way to go. lol
